  • This album is just fucking amazing i cant even get enough of it i kinda lost it there for them but i always had them in my heart but finally this is a reason to stay with them like another sacrament and a as the palace burns feel to it, with just a hint of Wrath. This is an amazing album and id rate it a fucking 9.5/10 the only thing i ask for is that they had atleast one straight brutal song that beats out all there others.

  • Insurrection and Terminally Unique

  • I agree with you on the level of aggressiveness staying the same, the general feel does stay the same. However King Me is a highlight just because they do innovate. Specifically with dynamics, there are very quite parts for example. I would not give this a 3 though, at least a 5 or a 6 (I am a fan of all metal.. apart from glam, metalcore, deathcore). Lamb of God were verging on a commercial sound with Sacrament, it went away with Wrath, but now its come back.

  • thanks for introducing me to meshuggah

  • shitty review

  • 3/10?

    SERIOUSLY

  • Lamb of God decide to stay in their comfort zone and create music that a metal head can appreciate but, at the end of the day, the rest of the world is just going to ignore it.

  • @ThePsychoticSmith Dude ive appreciated them for years, there music is beautiful in a aggressive brutal way, and there not just head banging and beating on chords and drums. They are actually having amazing rifts and melodies probally my favorite album on melodies wise. And there solos are amazing and just its different and it amazing but i think this is something worth appreciating forever, i think they did some of there best work.

  • this is bull shit dude king me, insurrection, ghost walking, and desolation?! its classic lamb of god what were u expecting its awesome

  • Lamb of god owns all you pussys

  • All the things you're saying you dont like about this album are things that LoG are well known for. If you were expecting something else why not go get a different album? LoG deliver fast, groovy aggressive music with the stereotypical metal lyrics. Cant expect much more from them, not saying thats a bad thing though. I enjoy LoG but there are alot of bands that I would rather listen to because of their more unique sound. Have a look at Eagleburner if you want something newish.

  • Review Korn's Path Of Totality.

  • Check out the new Psycroptic record.

  • I like your reviews man but I have to STRONGLY disagree with this one. Resolution is a really good album. An 8 is about as low as I would go.

  • From Virginia? Aren't they from Eastern Europe?

  • @MoonchildMindaugas2 mhaha Europe.. good joke. this is US music. with all its obvious superficialness.

  • @MoonchildMindaugas2 nope, they're from Richmond, VA.

  • @BermudaNC Thanks. But what was that band from Slovakia/Slovenia (plays metal versions of national anthems)? I think i was called somewhat similar.

  • Dude I don't think the band really cares what you or anyone else thinks of they're album. They make music for the fans who actually listen to it and benefit from it. Not for people like Jon Davis of KORN who say that metal is "Fucking Tired" and go dubstep. I swear you people try to read way too much into metal music. Please stop bashing metal bands who don't reinvent the proverbial wheel everytime they produce new material.

  • @2000jwe this guy gets paid to make music vlogs. don't like his opinion? stop telling him to stop bashing a band you like and ignore it...

  • I thought this review was fine until "the vocals dont really change all that much". For instance vocals on ghost walking sound different from other songs and Randy does use in my opinion at least most of the techniques one can use when growling. Plus it's a major change for Randy to use clean vocals!!! I didnt even recognize him first when i heard him. And i need to point out that there is not a single chorus sang with clean vocals.

  • I couldn't stand Wrath and was glad to listen to Resolution. This album, to me, was a blast back to the Ashes of the Wake sound..which is great. A score of 3 should be issued to a brand new band coming out that blatantly steals this type of sound that Lamb of God certainly made more popular. I felt like you gave this album a 3 because Lamb of God, still, in fact, sounds like Lamb of God.

  • I like early LoG, like literally the first and second album after they stopped being Burn The Priest. That era was their most innovative and interesting music, mostly because it was new. Not impressed with their newer stuff, like whatever album Redneck was on.

  • I disagree that the album be given a strong 3 but I understand. Maybe a strong 5 to a light 6. It's certainly not a horrible album but it is a disappointment. Listening to it I didnt want to turn it off but I wasn't banging my head either. They just seem in limbo. The song selections sound like the ones they would have thrown away...not even good ones that would be put on a B-side. They lack that punch that AOFTW, Sacrament & Wrath had. GHOST WALKING is the only real redeemable song on here.

  • hey anthony, i would really like for you to check out the comment i left on your website that i made about this review, youtube doesnt have enough character space for me to put what i felt about it into one comment box. thanks bro, and keep on plugging away at what you do, i've always enjoyed your album reviews :)

  • Another thing I've noticed, it seems Randy Blythe is trying to use every figure of speech under the sun in his lyrics. But it's still funny.

  • I enjoy the album, but then again LoG isn't necessarily a band I would consider one of my favourites; in fact for the most part I don't take them seriously. They just put out some really groovy and catchy material, and it's all just plain fun.

  • How the hell did a metal album review turn into a thesis paper for a Harvard Law professor? Whatever happened to just closing your eyes and listening to the music?

  • talk about over dissection

  • @charlesmburns Nah I thrive on this stuff.

  • its refreshing to see someone like you who actually isn't afraid to point out the fact that lamb of god is no longer king of the mountain in the metal scene. ever since aotw (my favorite "modern" metal album of all time) they have just gone down hill. The songwriting in resolution has no groove at all. it seems to be one big clusterfuck of insturments that produce about as much, if not less groove than a wet gym sock. There is not one song that keeps my attention the whole way through. terrible.

  • I thought it was very forgettable overall, real shame considering how much I loved ATPB back in the day. If we're still in the realm of reviewing new bands that most are surprised are still around, review the new Lacuna Coil if you can. I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on that.

  • Lamb Of God is so underground

  • Review Toxic Holocaust. Albums Overdose Of Death... or Conjure and Command Thank You

  • Review the new Psycroptic album. \m/

  • Your channel ran out of ideas...

  • MESHUGGAH!!!!!

  • Why dontcha review a BTBAM album?

  • I'm in a lamb of god tribute band, i love them, but i'm quite disappointed in the new album, the first track is great, the last track is great, 3 or 4 others have some good sections in them but the majority are very one dimensional and dont have any personality to them in my opinion

  • I´m with you on ur thoughts about Metalcore. Love your work, keep it up :)

  • i understand where your coming from bro but A 3?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? 7 would be the lowest i would go...

  • After 2 minutes of listening to this. I thought to myself STFU dude.

  • It's better than Wrath but weaker than Sacrament.

  • Seventh album, not sixth.

  • @Magic2500 sixth as lamb of god dude, seven if you count the one album they made as burn the priest

  • The hipsterness of these videos is surprisingly funny.

I'm watching them form amusement reasons.

  • Get a haircut, you hippie.

  • KING ME...nuff said

  • Cant believe you gave lil wayne a better score then this....

  • Close on this one

  • Dude you have no idea what you are saying about the meaning of the lyrics. Lamb of god have very intelligent lyrics they seem to focus a lot on addiction in this album " bleeding ,alone, hands on throat " I suggest you review your philosophy a little..

By the way no shitty albums but as palaces burn pry my fav because of the focus on catholicism and religions hipocracies p.s. sorry not trying to douche bag but you are not anywhere e on this one

  • @gcstevemc81 Ah, here comes the fans who don't build up much of a counter-point to Anthony's criticisms.

  • @gcstevemc81 addiction isn't very intelligent, original, or thought provoking either.

  • I love your reviews! I'm not overly crazy about metal core. Something about it just seems empty.

  • lol, Lamb of God sucks to begin with.

  • Aborted - Global Flatline indeed!!

  • I agree with Anthony. This record is something good to let's say, drive to, but not something that makes you think, "WOW! That was an experience" after listening to it. Just a typical mainstream metal record, really.

  • Yeah, I was dissapointed. It was just a strong 4 to me. Oh well, still early in the year.

  • Great review dude, I find a lot of the same flaws in Lamb of God's music as well. Especially when you talk about how they convey a lot of ideas that further the idea that metal is just screaming and anger and breakdowns ahah. "Instant as ramen noodles" is a classic line too. :P I've recommended The Current Will Carry Us by Counterparts on a couple other vids and I think you'd really dig it, and I'd love to hear your opinion on it. Review or *insert lamb of god lyric* >:)

  • Lamb of God haven't been close to good in years. Started out as harsh metal brutality, now they play it safe for the Slipknot kids.

Nice shirt, Anthony. You get that from JGCSOUND? Haha

  • This album is fucking garbage. Good score.

  • The first track was a real punch in the face, but I was kind of disappointed with the rest of the record. One of my favorite aspects of LoG was difficulty of a lot of their riffs. On this album, though, I felt like I could pretty easily play all of the songs. It's like they took the style that made their past music so powerful and hard-hitting, and kind of slowed it down and made it more generic. It was still enjoyable, but it didn't hit me on the level that any of their past releases have.

  • imo if the album was a little shorter it could have been better. it still kicks ass but it woulda kick that much more ass

  • This album is a god.

  • First and last tracks were amazing. The rest felt way too "heard it before" for me. But those 2 were really really great for me.

  • I respect your opinion, but I actually really liked this album.

    8/10 for me.

Not my fav LOG album, but I thought this was good.

(On a side note, Sacrament is my favorite offering)

Anyone else following me in the comments, I'm asking what your favorite Lamb of God album is?

  • REVIEW COLORS BY BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME! DO IT!

  • Comment removed

  • Can you do an Animals as leaders review? huh? yes?

  • @FukdIDNo3

Hahahaha. Way to fulfil your national stereotype

  • @FukdIDNo3

    oh ok. cheers then

  • The album is decent, At least the energy is strong even if it gets boring reaaaaal quick. They know how to put power into the punch, even if it is plain at times. Sometimes you have to be satisfied with a backflip instead of asking for a varial rotation on top of it. My personal opinion still remains with New American Gospel. That is a birth and will always be very special.

  • @FukdIDNo3

I don't get it. Are you trying to be funny or...

  • Pretty much agree with what you're saying. Wrath was much more enjoyable. Here, all the songs seem to mix in together, there's nothing to separate them. And there's very little building up to the aggression, it's all a constant, so it loses it's effect. It's a bit like when you heat up a room and get used to it so consciously, you don't feel any warmer after a while. King Me is epic though

  • Veil Of Maya - Vicious Circles

Its a single but there album is coming out late February and they have some technical metal, they are unreal musicians.

  • yeah idk i didnt think it was as good as their other albums. it has two or three good songs but not as many catchy songs

  • Still waiting for Tool's new album to drop!! It's gonna be epic. I really, really, really hope they don't let me down. It will definitely be interesting to see which direction they move in and I'm sure we will probably get some really weird experimentation.

  • @ThePsychoticSmith Preach brother! Me too man, it'll definitely be interesting whatever the outcome!

  • I'm a huge Lamb of God fan as well. I'd have to disagree, personally I love this album, but I also love every album they've put out, as well as their Burn the Priest stuff. So maybe I'm biased, but hey that's opinions for ya.

  • Seriously, I thought the exact same thing man. It's too cookie-cutter and to me, they pull it off real well and all, but if I wanted that style of music, I'll just go to Meshuggah for constant riffs and thrashy vocals. 2.

  • If Not Now When- Incubus

  • Not for me. I will stick with Meshuggah- Aztec Two Step .

  • I'm a huge LOG fan, and I must kinda agree with you on this one. But also disagree, on this album I really like the songs: to the end, Undertow, King Me & Desolation. But the rest is kind of shitty! compared to their catalog of classic metal songs. I would rate this 6.5 out of 10

  • I thought a lot about this album while listening through it. To me it broadens their sound way more than Wrath did, they try a lot of new things, but i felt that Wrath was more coherent all the way.

  • you should review the new younger lovers 7" on south paw records. Boy from leeds is has a hook that doesn't let go for anything!

  • BTBAM <3

  • Hey Anthony Fontana, serious question here:

I noticed that in all your reviews you always have a digital image of the album cover with the use of the Chroma key/greenscreen, which makes me wonder, do you just download all the albums?

If so, are you not afraid of being totally reamed by an anti piracy super killer over the top SWAT team coming in in the middle of the night and totally raiding your anus (and computer, etc)

    Just a thought.

Oh and i dig this album more than you, so nyuuuh.

  • @casperoony this album sucks and you should feel bad

  • @casperoony

Do you realise how large CD covers are? Or let's just pin up that vinyl copy on the wall. Or just buy /every/ album you listen to. Yeah, forget that you probably won't like a lot of them and it will burn through your pocket, we have some record labels to feed.

  • why these so called reviewer have to educate everybody about different genres............ bitch ass motherfuckers

  • @krthkh cause it's ignorant to pigeon hole yourself to one style yet being unfamiliar with so much out there to discover that's why.

  • why do these so called reviewer have to educate everybody the different genres..... bitch ass motherfuckers

  • Press 3 to hear "ramen noodles".

  • Whoa you tore that to pieces

  • I liked this more than Wrath, but Ashes of the Wake is still their best.

    Please review Aborted- Global Flatline

  • Do you have a Last.fm?

  • I have just stopped caring about any of this new metal crap. Lamb of god became bad once sacrament came out.

  • There seems to be some sort of an obsession, on overly digitized sounding guitars with certain folks. No bottom end and really just sounds like a MIDI gone fucked. This review was 7 minutes too long.

  • I felt the same way Anthony the same way and I'm a big LOG fan

  • Aborted- Global Flatline

  • 4:01 = WHAAAT

  • i really like this album... but i like metalcore and the straight to the point and thoughtless agression that comes with the genre. straight for the sun and ghost walking are good tracks imo.

  • LOG was never good and never will be.

  • This album seemed to be more of the same. The band members themselves are excellent at their respective positions, but the overall songwriting seems to have dried out a lot. Worth a listen for no other reason than Randy's godlike vocals though.

  • Well if you are going to be reviewing more mainstream metal releases, you should at least go for a good one. e.g. The Black Dahlia Murder's 'Ritual'

  • i respectfully disagree. the band has their formula and they stick by it; it works. this is not my favorite but it's a good, solid LOG record. the dark tonality of "The Number Six", "Insurrection", and "King Me" add more dynamic to break up the monotony, if you will, of a straight forward metal record. Morton's solos also stand out more on this record. @evilbunnysanta says it best - after 15 yrs you should have an idea of what a LOG record is going to sound like.

  • Comment removed

  • @pastaboy12 He's agreeing with all your points that LOG are being what they've always been, that's just a bad thing to him because he wants to hear something new and listens to all kinds of metal, not just a fan of one band.

  • I agree with your review at the same time as completely disagreeing with your review. Resolution provides EVERYTHING i want out of a lamb of god album yet at the same time provides nothing more. I'm a huge fan of thrash like megadeth and sludge like electric wizard and i feel like this album really blends the 2 very nicely and i love it. log is now a +15 year old band and if you are looking for innovation and something you never heard before then your expectations were in the wrong place

  • i think log has just been putting out the same records with slight changes over and over. there early stuff was cool but its gotten so repetitive i cant even listen to them anymore

  • Not surprised you didn't enjoy it, but surprised that you thought it was as generic as you did, I don't agree with that at all.

  • I really like that you review metal bands, but you don't dismiss them because they aren't the same as whatever buzz band of the day is. I listened to this album when it came out, and I did also get bored. It just didn't hold my attention, and this is from someone who has seen Lamb of God in concert like 3 or 4 times.

  • I LOVE the beginning!

    "Lam a God"

    "humeramana"

  • well you're going to have to review Meshuggah's new album released March 23rd I believe.

  • please review The Menzingers' new release: On the Impossible Past!

  • Wow Anthony, you are either one intelligent man panning the more popular albums to gain more buzz and viewers, or...

One giant hipster that seriously needs to listen to the music properly.

  • @HighRoad001 Or, you know, a person with an opinion.

  • @HighRoad001 or maybe he just likes some things and dislikes others? ignorant man

  • Skinny puppy-HanDover!

  • Cana u review The Airborne Toxic Event self titled album

  • WHEN THE NEW PERIPHERY ALBUM COMES OUT PLEASE DO A REVIEW!!!!!!

  • @MaxwellBergen I'm really surprised he did this album, the new Periphery is very unlikely.

  • Heem's new mix tape

  • Every since Sacrament this band has been ass.

  • As much as I love lamb of god, none of the tracks are memorable.

  • abigail williams - becoming

    trust me.

  • it was definitely a DE-solution to me...music wise...sacrament is my fav album by them basically...more interesting to me...

  • Comment removed

  • I agree with you in part. If i watched this after the 1st listen i would agree 100%. After of few listens you pick up the small differences and it grows on you. I'm not saying it will become one of your favorite albums but I think it takes a few listens. Overall it could be better but I like it.

  • Converge are in a class of their own.

  • I really don't know why you were expecting anything from LoG. They've never been anything special.

  • I do think it is a great record, but definitely disappointing for me. I am a huge Lamb of God fan, and I really thought this record was going to be a million times better than "Wrath", which is my 2nd favorite by them. I was wrong, however. I wasn't expecting another "As the Palaces Burn", but I was hoping for at least a better album than "Sacrament". I really liked it, but definitely my least favorite by them.

Review "Emerald Forest and the Blackbird" by Swallow the Sun next.

  • LoG = "meh"

  • @theneedledrop By the way, what band shirt are you wearing in this vid?
