  • So sorry to hear your home was flooded. Where are you living? I'm near Laporte and feel very badly for you.

  • We also dealt with this flood I saw the weather channel forcast when Lee started moving and what was possible ...Our local weather channel was saying we'd only get 3 inches if that but we moved our camper just in case to solid ground ...Incase we had to move fast then the rain came I knew at about 1:30 pm we needed to start moving items ..We flooded in 2006 but the water was about a foot and a half higher this time..We were lucky the water was about 6 inches from going into the house Good luck!

  • To Tomkat53: We've lived here for 31 years. Never had anything like this. Our drill has always been to get things upstairs or at least up high. Swimmy toys and plastic chairs are pretty low on the priority list. When it happened, it happened fast and we just needed to get out. Other times power never went off. Good questions, but if you haven't lived it, you probably don't understand . . .

  • Bryon, it's Michael Leach (from next door). Where can I reach you? Want to talk about clearing the road --- I have a guy who I think can clear the road for us.

    email leachmb@gmail.com

  • Couple questions:

    1. Why didn't you secure or store away those items outside, that floated away?

    2. Why didn't you shut off the power at your main breaker box? (and run the camera on batteries)

As for #2, you took a HUGE RISK by allowing the WATER to basically short out the power in your home!

  • Kind of helps to comprehend how our house got leveled, and EVERYTHING is gone....totally.....don't know when we will be able to get up there to see if anything in our little cove is left. I heard only one house is standing, and it has been condemned. They have told us it was about 35' deep in our area.

  • Wow

  • Bryon, so sorry to hear about this much water in your house :( My mom lives up rt 87, just past "the narrows" section which is above shore acres but before best beach. she got 3 feet in her house. i made a FB page for people of this area to share information, resources and photos if you'd like to join. Hopefully everybody can help each other and friends & family can get info and help.

  • Hey Bryon...your old downstream neighbor here ...next to the "whip o will" place....Did the water get up over the bank? Did Hans dad place get water? You folks have had water before and I know you'll be OK. Many friends got flooded out there and I'm trying to find out whats happening. Heard the slabtown bridge went as well as best beach! alot of memories out there....take care and be safe...John K.

  • Hey Bryon, its Steffon, cool video, sorry about the house, I know that creek way to well! I just got a new house up in Shunk ( forksville area) and was trying to find information to see if I could even get there?

  • @3cboGames Good luck with your new house. I hope it's dry. Let me know.

  • I am so sorry for you and your family. Thank you for sharing this video, though! If my husband or I can help you, please let me know. We live in Blakeslee.

  • so sorry about your home.....i hope you recover quickly.

  • The camera was set up about 7.25 miles out 87.

  • Byron where on the Sock was the camera

  • I am so sorry about your home, but that was an interesting idea to set up a time lapse camera to catch everything. Things out 87 are very bad and will take a long time to fix but i wish you the best of luck!

  • Bryon, it's Tina. Wow. Great video. Terrible loss. Recovery will be slow. 87 is a mess from what I'm seeing.

  • Natures a bitch... best of luck to you and yours.

  • I'm so sorry about your home! I hope everyone is safe.

  • I never thought it would get so high. My camera was 5.5 feet off the ground and I figured that was plenty high enough. I was wrong. The interval was set for 1 shot every 30 seconds.

  • what interval was that set at?

  • Sorry about your home! Cool video though. It shows how fast the water can rise.

  • WOW!! Prayers with you and your family!

  • good idea with the camera but maybe it shud have been higher :(

  • I hate to click "Like" but this is an excellent video. I'm so sorry about your home :(

  • You can see the plant inside the window start to float. The tripod was getting knocked around by stuff floating in the house.
