I have a question. When I train slapping, my muscles in my shoulder and my upper arm hurt after an half and hour or sth. Is this normal or do I something wrong?

@ShoalinFunny You can use a classical guitar, but since the action is higher, it makes it harder. The "action" is how high the strings sit from the fretboard.

hmm when i slap open strings it sounds really like the "slap" sound but when i hold my finger down a fret it sounds not as raw as it should.. any suggestions?

For all the people that think they suck as slapping, you gotta train it a bit ^^, as in his first example (the real slap way) always try to hit with the bone joint on ur thumb to get the right sound ^^).

if you take a good look to bassist that slap for a living :p there right thumb (if there right hand players offcourse) is totally different then what your used to cause the skin gets harder and harder ^^ (producing better sounds ^^)
