I some times ask my self if everything you say here is true.. Because I didn´t knew people could be so DUMB! How can they say such things out loud and spect people to agree... Keep the good work! I´m from Paraguay and I have nothing to do with EEUU but you explain politics so well I just had to subscribe
Teachers, police officers, firefighters.... they're the heart of the community and they're always the first to get kicked in the shins. I just don't understand it. I never will.
My great-grandfather worked in a steel mill in Joliet, IL before unions. He worked 12 hour days 6 days a week, subjected to severe dangers (extreme temperature/the splash of molten iron). Safety information was not provided for him in his native language. No consideration was taken for his injuries sustained from shrapnel and gas exposure in WW1 fighting for the U.S. In 1930 he was laid off without severance pay. The avarice and greed of the higher-ups made his life nasty, brutish, and short.
Threee groups are exempt from Walker's agenda. Local police, firefighters and state troopers. Why is that? Because they supported him. Why are not employees working in prisons not exempt? Oh, they didn't support him.
Walker does have an agenda that clearly doesn't include the average worker. It's all about politics to him. Nothing more. It's become a power grab for Walker.
thats really hilarious...so now i love your videos u explain politics to me a 17 year old thats impressive...break down stuff a little more well dumb it down some more hah
The issue of the appropriateness of unions is a bit more nuanced than unions being good and Republicans being bad. Unions, like any corporate structure, are prone to corruption and existing for their own sake and not the sake of the workers. There is an argument that unions outlived their usefulness or resulted in increased unemployment in the north (Michigan, for example), where auto plants moved to southern states which were not unionised (or to foreign countries). It's a tricky issue! /B/
Great commentary on a galvanizing (i.e., non-boring) issue. Did you hear the "interview" between Walker and David Koch, the uber-rich man who finances him? It shows Walker to be a rapacious, callous power-monger. It sickens me. I won't go to the NYC Ballet or NYC Opera because their home is now called the "David Koch Theater."
PS: Your new hair style brings out your eyes quite nicely.
The rich fat cats wont be happy till they extract every last dime from the poor, and set up complete slavery. Money is not enough for them, they want everything and all the power it brings.
You might want to reread some history books. Whereas there was a time when some of the unions actually helped some of the American workers, the Unions became as corrupt as the corporations and did more damage than they did good. They have done their part through the years to cause damage and hurt American workers and families, so to "blanket review" unions as a good thing is reckless and untrue. I know you enjoy it, but the real truth is the democrats have done as much damage as the republicans.
I love the way you just barged into my subscription box after so long. Even though I knew it was coming, it was an exciting experience, so thank you! You never fail to be so informative. I've been into the news lately, and I don't know why this hasn't been brought to my attention, so thank you for that as well.
Aside from all this, NICKKKK I've got tons to tell you and we need to catch up, okay! :)
What corporate interests like those of the Coke Brothers are interested in, is to have a labor market that resembles the late 19th century, it's despicable!
Thank you for taking the time to upload this. I think this incident may prove to be one of the most important of our time. As the Governor revealed in that phony phone call, in which he believed himself to be speaking with his billionaire master David Coke, this is a declaration of war, on not just the Democratic Party, but on Americas' working class!
hey nick, glad to see how informed you are and wow it shows that our young americans have brains and show interist in our goverment, kudos to you buddie,oh and hey nick love the hair missed ya.i totally agree with you nick america rules yay
Not meaning to declare any form of support for the Republicans, (Being a liberal Brit myself) but surely the Democrats abstaining is a shameful example of the kind of partisan politics that threatens to tear America apart? I think that as long as Democrats and Republicans continue to be petty and vindictive (It does work both ways) then no problems in America are going to get solved, and ultimately, the loudest people will triumph (Teabaggers). Just saying.
@jonboyjones2 I would disagree. By leaving the state, the democratic state senators are preventing radicals from taking away rights that have been given to unionized workers for 75 years. I think ideally you would be right, but realistically democracy cannot function properly without compromise and the republicans are refusing to to do so, leaving the democrats no option but to leave the state.
@nicktalk215 True indeed, it's the same you see everywhere, even in the Coalition over here, every time a Lib Dem opposes a Tory proposal there's a huge stink, so in the end all they can do is abstain from the vote, which lets the Conservatives get away with whatever regardless of their status within power. And ideally the Republican party would just develop a brain cell that they can share between them at weekends, but until then, nothing's really going to end well.
So basically there trying to promote slavery, I hope someone hits him on the head real hard and make him jump into a flaming billing, risk his life then tell him that he isn't getting anything for that.
I live in Saudi Arabia we don't have allot of freedom here tho at least we have our dignity, Something the republican governor is clearly trying to rip the American public off. I think It's time he steps down from his undeserving position as governor!
