chevelle named tool as an influence, and though their newer few albums don't sound similar to tool, point #1 was extremely similar to Tool's style, though it was still good.

despite the idiot war going on :P yeah the el diablo one is a bass riff, but it's a bass *guitar* riff, and it goes on through the entire song far as i know. The guitar riff is good too though, starts in a little after 1:00 but is pretty much the same as the bass riff. Well most of their riffs are good, anyway. :)
