  • Freaking genius you can potentially save me 600 bucks.. tomorrow I have arguements to present finally thanks man

  • This guy should be a lawyer.

  • Did they change there contract recently? cause im trying to get out of my service without the fee

  • is it a better idea to try and do this over the phone? or go into the store in person? cuz i definitely wouldnt mind giving those fuckers a piece of my mind face to face lol

  • They changed their contract. I just called in and they pointed it out quickly. "You agree to pay all access, usage and other charges that you or the user of your wireless device incurred..... they are kept by us in whole or in part, and the amounts and what they pay for may change."

  • is that double the data a rate change?

  • Thanks for the info!

  • Verizon is now going to charge 2 dollars to pay your bill online or on the phone with a credit card by jan 15th of 2012. Can i use this to get ouf of contract.

  • Verizon is increasing the admin fee on 1/1/12, and adding a $2 bill payment fee on 1/15/12, so have fun!

  • Whata hell is on ya head

  • Let's take their balls

  • The fed universal service charge is a mandatory charge by the government, so even if they wanted to take it off your bill, they can't because they have to charge it. Talk to the government, not verizon.

  • @kwint actually not true. Thats what they WANT you to think, but it is a true VW fee. Researched it on the FCC website.

  • I called verizon two times. They say that Fed univ.serv.charge depends on the amount of the bill. that is why it varies, not because they change it. Even though I tried to stand, I didnt have any counterargument against this one

  • @webbuha it varies if your bill increases or decreases. They take a certain percentage of that bill to add on. If that certain percentage doesn't match up from last time, then you can argue

  • r u wearing a yomica or whatever

  • ah they may have changed it, but its still in there

"Can Verizon Wireless Change This Agreement or My Service?"

Check the customer agreement and search for that... ITS STILL IN THERE!!!

  • This does not work anymore. Verizon has put their billion $ foot down on this.

  • Thank you need info from 2011 looking on google. I have had 3 bad HTC Incredible 2's and 2 DOA Droid 3's. My gawd this is in 4 months. They are the most expensive and they are no better than T Mobile in Colorado. Not to mention the dropped calls and 3 g dropping in and out.

  • i tried calling twice with no luck any one have any suggestions , I told them that the Federal Universal Service changed they didnt care any advice on how to do this THANKS!!

  • so if i bought my phone at a discount price as part of the contract, will i have to pay off the rest of the phone if i get out of said contract?

  • wow what a surprise...a jew trying to get out of paying money

  • @ladygagastalker9414 go and stalk lady gaga u bitch

  • @ladygagastalker9414

If you have nothing positive to say, then why don't you GTFO! He's here helping people and you bash him because of his religion? Grow the fuck up and learn so damn respect! And btw, Lady Gaga is absolute fucking trash!

  • BTW: in slew of my other recent comments... I recently (as in 10 min. ago) cancaled my vzw contract using this method using just 1 phone call, taking 20. min long with data i've gathered from their contract & the fcc.gov webpage.. My contract will end at the end of this pay period, & I'll be starting my new t-mobile contract tomorrow morning.. & after using all my collected data the supervisor even asked me if i was an attorney I replied: i'm not an attorney & it only took me 10 min. lol.

  • @canthony1019 Hello, I am currently on Verizon and I was needing to know if you get to keep your phone number??

  • @yesacw121 No, there's only one way to keep your current # and that's after your contract has ended & you choose to switch carriers. They wouldn't cancel mine until the next billing cycle which for me is Nov 7th. If I were to switch services & take my number with me that would be me canceling early on my end & I'd end up paying early cancellation fees.

  • It says write in the descirtion of charges, under Verizon wireless surcharges, where the Federal Universal Service Charge is explained at the end of the paragraph it states "Please note that these are Verizon Wireless charges, not taxes." That should help with the first argument...

  • look up the fcc website.search for federal universal chagre

  • they keep saying that the goverment makes them charge the "federal universal charge" when i found several goverment websites that says it is not a requirement.its a charge verizon chooses to do.and to make up for they're contributions they charge the customer.

    can someone help me

  • @usedbybert87 go to the fcc website & search federal universal charge. there's a link in there where it says:

"the FCC does not require this charge to be passed on to customers"

They did the same thing to me & I emailed the direct supervisor a link to a screen shot I had taken of the site showing the address bar and that quote highlighted..

  • An update: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO THIS. EVERY PERSON YOU SPEAK WITH, GET THEIR NAME AND EMPLOYEE NUMBER. Verizon keeps harassing me about this ETF, and I am about to take them to small claims court over it.

  • they have not changed their contract in the california area as i have checked multiple times online to be sure. the only way they wont end the service without the fees is if they are just being dicks. keep trying and get more and more assertive each time. if they still try and deny you then call again and dont even give them a chance to return fire. explain and lay out everything for them without letting them get a word in and then explain the ways they are violating the contract. should work

  • CAN U CALL FOR ME? EMAIL ME CLEAHILL@GMAIL.COM

  • Got it done thanks to you on the 1st call!!!

  • I fought a valiant effort and stumped the first to customer reps but ended up losing and paying the fee in the end. In September, Verizon added a part to the agreement to prevent precisely this. Our fighting point "If you're a Postpay customer and a change to your Plan or this agreement has a material adverse effect on you..." is no longer valid because they added a paragraph to clarify that "plan" and "service" do not include the service charges.

  • @PHHSLacrosseChamp I just thought of another argument that might be worth trying. They told me that the FUSC is not part of my service (which the contract does now make clear) and therefore i can't cancel w/o ETF via the materially adverse clause. However, they state "We may change prices or any other term of your Service or this agreement at any time," and if the FUSC in not part of their service, then they do not have the right to change it without breaking the agreement. Give it a shot.

  • that is so great of you to try and cheat a good company. i have been with verizon for many years and i have never had a problem. you all just want things that you don't want to pay for! this is a charge that is from the government that is added to your bill because you are provided a service.

  • This does not work no more cuz they changed the agreement terms.

  • They are giving me a hard time doing this. They are stating that the federal Universal Service charge can change and I may not cancel because of it.

    Please help!!!!!

  • They have changed their customer service agreement and all the points you made in the video do not match up with the new Customer Service Agreement

  • @LethalXTC The same wording is still there. Read the entire agreement last night. You work for Verizon or something :)

  • I absolutely can not stand verizon. I've been with them for over a year now, and it is almost a battle everyday, I pay wayyy too much, and i get shitty service in return. Boo Verizon BOOOOOO!

  • Ely's video may help and I will give it a try. My problem is that I have a broadband card that won't work where I live but they want to still charge me 125.00 to get it off of my contract.

I have nothing good to say about Verison so I will listen to what my Mom said and say nothing....(but it is hard)

  • wich section of my bill shows the changes or where do i find these changes? thanks

  • The fee went DOWN two cents for me from june to august's bill. Will this still permit me to get out of it? Or will they argue me into the ground?

  • Update: worked like a charm! I just looked at the regulatory fee, which had increased by three cents. The first person I got was just a lowly peon trying to tell me that all -she- could do was credit my account to negate the adverse effects. She then transferred me to her supervisor, who was accusing, rude, and flat out lied to me about what the contract stated. She pointed me to the section defining what charges are set by verizon wireless, lying about what that meant and accusing me

  • that the 3 cents was not big, interrupting me, trying to fish out the real reason I wanted to leave so she could deny me. I just calmly stuck to my guns, wouldn't let her drag me off topic, and once she started getting downright rude, I asked that she transfer me to her boss. "Fine," she said, "but I promise the answer will still be no." Two mins later, I got her boss, who was friendly, helpful, understood the clause, and after asking if he could do -anything- to keep me, let me go with no ETF!

  • @popnsplat I'm glad it worked for you, congratulations!. I'm hoping my third try is my lucky charm.

  • @popnsplat It's irrelevant what they say, just put a stop payment to them on your credit card and inform them you're cancelling. Ignore any bills they send you and inform them you owe them no money.

  • Today, spoke to 3 representatives up the line. Very challenging. The 3rd rep said there is no possibility of termination without Early termination fee and suggested my only option is to write an email to customer service on the vzw website contact page. Looks grim.

  • Worked like a charm! August 29, 2011. Thanks for the help! You saved me $75 in reconnect fees or $400 in early termination fees. I owe you...a...child?

  • Am I the only one not surprised this guy was Jewish?

  • Tried my ass off to do this. No dice. They werent having it. Said that since they are offering to credit the amount, I HAVE to pay the termination fee. Going to pay the fee and screw Verizon. I can make up the 170 by being with Sprint for 3 months.

  • i am on the phone with Verizon. They are telling me all the things you said except theyre telling me that the FUSC is not part of my plan or the customer agreement, which means that I can't cancel w/o fees because the only way I can is if changes to the Plan or Agreement are made that are materially adverse. They keep saying that they have a right to charge these fees. Any suggestions?

  • verizion changed there contract last month.

  • @biohazardfun4334 how so?

  • Comment removed

  • @biohazardfun4334 correction, they changed their whole privacy act within the contract..

  • Can I do this then open up a new line on verizion

  • italian pickle is dead on with what they now say, can anyone help? Ely do you know what we can do??

  • "i need help! ive tried these arguments but i was disputing a change in the regulatory charge. they say most times that it is a legal issue and they cant handle this sort of problem..the other thing they keep telling me is how the regulatory charge is not agreed upon within the terms and conditions, they say it isnt part of the agreement so it is not eligible to be considered as materially adverse.. talked to lots of ppl and am getting nowhere :/"

IM HAVING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM! Help?

  • I called Alltel today trying to change my number, and after giving them the zip code of the area I was a student at (which is only an hour and a half upstate in north carolina), they told me that alltel doesn't have any towers there and the novice customer service representative (bless her heart, sounded like an elderly lady who smoked cigarettes too much hence the harsh breathing) I was directed to someone where my deactivation fee was waived and all i gotta pay is $33 for my balance.

  • Dude, I love you!!!

    Tnx!!!

  • Nice Video - thanks - I hate Verizon too. The lied and stole my money.

  • This guy is wearing a Jewish hat... I should've known a Jew was the mastermind behind getting out of paying a contract

  • Hey!! Move to Texas, Start your little compound and try to succeed from the union

    NAZI SCUM!!

Or do you just work for FOX NEWS?

  • @baconator55 lol i was about to point out that im taking advice from a jew on how to jew out of a contract.

biggot comments aside. thanks a metric ton! im sick of my pos droid x and want a new phone but fuck waiting another 1.5 years for my credit.

  • I thought AT&T sucked, but after 5 months on Verizon, I have discovered just how deep the suck-hole can go. EVERY MONTH we have to call and complain about a bunch of unnecessary charges tacked on to our bill. The customer service person always says, "Oh, I don't know why that's on there. That's a mistake." and they remove it. And then next month, there's always a bunch more "mistakes". Funny how the mistakes are always in Verizons favor. We are canceling service tomorrow.

  • @ellisgarvin how did the cancellation go?

  • @iamastupidhead84 We didn't do it yet because we honestly don't have the money to deal with it at this point. So my wife spent another 30 minutes on the phone with a customer service person who again dropped the extra charges and agreed to pay us $50 of the $100 rebate we were promised when I bought my Droid 2 Global [they tried to deny giving me the rebate for the phone!] We're going to wait another month and then switch to Credo mobile, who will pay the transfer costs for us...

  • @italianpicklehello I'm having the same problem. You have any luck? I think it's because when this video was made the used the word "Prices" in the contract instead of "Plan". Let me know if you get it to work and I'll do the same for you.

  • I have a question: I noticed you said that they cannot take away your right to end your contract with a credit on your account, and I heard your response for that tactic...could we not just demand this action in a certified letter to their Customer Service Department, and thus legally end the contract simply by asking. With no other provisions written into the contract, it isn't really a negotiable thing, is it? Wouldn't this nip that credit and basically all the other arguments in the bud? Thx!

  • You're awesome thanks! :)

  • I've said it before and I'll say it again...lawyers are amazing people in most cases, and we should all have a the phone number of a competent lawyer MEMORIZED!

  • Does the Insurance price count as well? I noticed it went up by a whole dollar, and I didn't even want it. I really want to get rid of them by yesterday.

  • Which charge did you dispute? I need to do the same thing.

  • Comment removed

  • Go to the FCC's own site. Believe it or not, they have LOTS of information there about fighting with phone providers (e.g. break down each charge and even have a page devoted to ETFs) on their Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau. It's almost like they are on our side.

  • How do I hire you? I have had nothing but problems with Verizon

  • he has that little hat thing that the jews wear :D haha

  • what about just pleading poverty??

  • 21 people work for verizon

  • are you Jewish cus that would b awesome

  • @WilfredoOakley wait.... no

  • can this aooly to att please reply

  • @rock1181977

    yup it should

  • most companies are switching to equipment based contracts - meaning the rates that you pay are not subject to contract, you are agreeing to the term with said company to receive phone at a deeply discounted price.

  • so...does it still work? can u get out of your contract if you skip the 2 year upgrade option? mine is coming up and i have no plans to stay with verizon, don't wanna wait the additional 4 months after that for the actual contract to end.

  • I got an aircard with Verizon for internet service that rarely worked, when I called about it I was told they needed to do a "trouble ticket", they never did. I eventually stopped being able to use the service at all. When I tried politely to talk to a supervisor about it, I was treated with utter belligerence and told that internet service was " Not guaranted inside buildings" !! She told me if she needed to she would sit out in a car in winter with the gas running to use it! Organized crime.

  • this is awesome thank you

  • verizon data plan blows 30 dollars a bit steep like if you agree get these clowns to stop these raping prices call verizon and complain or shoot the email to them thanks

  • hes gonna be a good lawyer lol

  • You my friend are a brilliant person!

  • continued... The FUSC would only be applicable if you catch any change that might happen quarterly. As for the rest I'm not sure. The other sad truth is, after hanging up with them, the guy basically said "well I'm right and you're wrong. you don't like it? sue us" which, sad truth #2, sueing verizon would be more of a nightmare than what it's worth. I folowed this vid to a T, verizon can say and do whatever they please. All we can do is bend over and take it.

  • @finbogg on my bill the FUSC is broken down and it shows that from last month to this it went up from $1.59 to 1.99 so i called and i couldnt get passed the first argument!! i told them that it went up i wanna cancel and they sayed verizon has no control over this rate so i cant cancel and i told them i understand that but it is a fee that verizon is charging and in my contract it states i can cancell within 60 days the rep kept telling me i cant cancell .......

  • Oops sorry for the double post. Yeah I justt tried this method. In all honesty this guy is correct about the terms of the contract as it ties intot hte information on your bill. There is one thing he doesn't include in this video however. The federal service charge, as well as regulatory and administrative fee's are not broken down on your bill. They are lumped together underVerizon Wireless' and other Charges and Credits. The FUSC for example is a percentage of your bill and charges...

  • @finbogg i tried this tuday i couldnt even get passed the first argument they kept telling me its not a charge set by verizon even tho i pointed out the contract that it clearly says the FUSC is set by verizon they gave me some crap about a brochure when i signed up on how i agreed to pay this even if it goes up and kept telling me how they have no control over this fee and i cant cancell..i also got the supervisors manager to give me a call which is supose to happen in a day ot two. please help

  • Doesn't work

  • Doesn't work

  • But the Federal Universal Service Charge is based on a percentage of your bill. It will fluctuate with the amount you owe and if they have charged you any kind of additional late fee, or feature that you added yourself.

  • Dude are you just plain dumb or what?

  • DUDE ARE YOU FUCKING DUMB OR WHAT

  • heck yea! are you a lawyer or something lol?

  • Thank You So Much!! Bye Verizon Wireless; off to T-mobile now

  • why would you want to cancel Verizon when, they have the best coveraqe net work in the Nation.. all other providers. suck.. ESPECIALLY SPRINT

  • They may have "the best coverage" but they have crap products and terrible customer service.

  • would this method still work with this new paragraph?

  • We may change prices or any other term of your Service or this agreement at any time but we'll provide notice first, including written notice if you have Postpay Service. If you use your Service after the change takes effect that means youre accepting the change. If youre a Postpay customer and a change to your Plan or this agreement has a material adverse effect on you you can cancel the line of Service that has been affected within 60 days of receiving the notice with no early termination fee.

  • An excellent presentation. Clear, gimmick-free, and eminently useful.

  • Smart Jew =)

  • I fucking hate Verizon. They've fucked me so bad.

  • Thank You Very Much For Your Advise. And I would like to give one to DON'T BUY ANY SERVICES FROM VERIZON!!! THEY WILL SCAM YOU!!! EVEN IF IT'S SOUND SO GOOD. VERIZON IS PROFFETIONALS IN SCAMING PEOPLE.

  • kol hakavod! very informative!

  • Best part is at 1:00

  • Congrats about getting into wired magazine!

  • Very glad there smart people like you to help us all.

When was the last time anyone read in detail and understood these outrageous 20 page micro print contracts!

We have lost the right of fair contract review in our country. It has become a take it or leave it deal!

  • That's awesome, thanks for making this video. I don't plan on ending my contract, but ill keep this in mind. I hate how these companies treat their customers like slaves.

  • why do jewish people watch porn backwards?

bcuz they climax when the prostitute gives the money back !!!!!!!!

  • @matthew0502 That's....really just......aweful

  • @matthew0502 What the fuck haha

  • LMAO off at all these comments...I guess some people will go out of their way to find a loophole or a way out. Please track down whoever twisted your arm and forced you to call in, go into a store, or go online and start services. Verizon doesn't owe you anything, nor or they trying to cheat you out of your money. With 80 million customers do you really think they need to try and sneak and increase your bill??? DUMMIES!!!

  • @JessiSC2005

hehe you must be employed by verizon

  • Will this work with at&t?

  • @eternalgamers10 read your agreement, look @ your bill for this charge I have never seen it on my AT&T bill. If the agreement you have has the same clause that they can change rates & state if they have adverse effect on you then a bump in texts should work.

  • Just pay the bill. Get outta dodge. VERIZON SUCKS

  • I have tried twice, first time was an hour long conversation with an asshole that ended up in a NO. 2nd time was alot nicer person and I really thought I had em.... Maybe a few more calls.?

  • i just want a fucken iphone 4.

  • Contract phones suck.

Should have gone with a Boost mobile no contract phone.

Sent from my BlackBerry® by Boost Mobile

  • Hey my mom and I want to try this week. But she can't find her bill, and we can't find it online. Can anyone tell me if anything has increased in the past 60 days so we can use this?

Also I'm pretty sure they renewed our contract at somepoint. I got a software update in July2010 and now they are telling me that the contract ends in July 2011. When it was supposed to end in Oct2010

  • Verizon Wireless just told me in these words over the phone "The Customer Service Agreement does not apply to you. Only your Contract." So now I'm going to go down and get my contract and show them in there where they are wrong.

  • You agree to pay all access, usage and other charges that you or the user of your wireless device incurred. Our charges include Federal Universal Service, Regulatory and Administrative Charges, and we may also include other charges related to our governmental costs. We set these charges; they aren't taxes, they aren't required by law, they are kept by us in whole or in part, and the amounts and what they pay for may change.

  • This guy looks like a dude I work with, but I work at a non-profit organization. It must not be him.

  • Does this still work? Is the contract still the same? and how would this would if I'm under my mom's contract and I just want to leave to go on my own contract?

  • @AmericanWarrior6 - Actually, no. Within the terms and conditions it states "....these taxes and surcharges may vary quarterly." And, anyone who argues that that "changed" their plan without their knowledge is quite an imbecile since it, under their taxes and surcharges clause, fully discloses the fact that it may "vary" quarterly. If you don't know what "vary" means, perhaps you're one of those people who also believe "adverse effect" is a general term, when in fact, it's quite specific.

  • @aundreeuh look on there website and it clearly states that this fee is set by them so fuck off prick

  • wow this video is 2 year old I'm sure the customer contract has changed since then plus going to cancel your contract due to verizon changing a rate doesn't happen as frequently as he said. the customer has to make the change verizon doesn't just change your plan without you know. rme.

  • what's the termination fee if you skip your upgrade? a co worker told me he got out of his verizon contract for only 5 dollars because once you hit your upgrade date and pass on it you have fulfilled your contract and free to leave. is this true?

  • why hes a fuckin jew!! anti Christ!

  • @royals520 shut up dumb bitch

  • I get my bill online, but Federal Universal Service Charge doesn't show. Instead it shows "Verizon Wireless' and Other Charges & Credits", and "Taxes, Governmental Surcharges & Fees". Those are the only charges I noticed that have changed in my previous bills. Would those be consider my Federal Universal Service Charge instead?

  • @cgomez1988 Thats the one negative effect of going paperless. If you recieve a paper bill, it shows the ferderal universal service charge under the verizon wireless' surchages portion of the bill. However, they dont specifically show you what you are being charged for the federal universal service charge in the online version of the beil. They just dump it into the other charges and credits portion. Now that I think about it, they are doing that on purpose so people dont think to cancel!!!!!!!!!

  • @stjackso17 So do you have any suggestions on how to go about it for someone who went paperless?

  • @cgomez1988 Actually its possible 2 get it online. After logging into your account, hover your mouse over the account tab at the top of the page. When you do this a drop down menu will appear and you will click on Bill. While on the page that opens, if you scroll down just a little you will see billing statement heading. Under that heading and to the far right you will see a view and print bill option. Open it. Next scroll down, maybe 3rd 4th or 5th page lookign 4 "verison wireless' surchages."

  • @cgomez1988 Click on view and print my bill and you will get a PDF of your bill. Its either page 3 or 4 and it will show the FUSC.

  • how can you tell if there was a recent rate change?

  • I just told them I was a college student and every penny mattered. That's all I had to say after getting that far. And she offered the credit and I said that it wasn't provided for in the contract and that legally I'm allowed to cancel my contract and they couldn't argue. Guess you just have to know what to say and this video definitely helps.

  • Can you do it for me? lol

  • Actually, they CAN tell you what a "material adverse effect" is. In fact, there are plenty of legal textbooks, court cases, and clauses/acts which in fact DO define "adverse effect," which also states that adverse effects are not trivial. The FCC regulatory fees that you're referencing, rarely do they exceed 10-20 cents per quarter, maximum. Feel free to dispute your cell phone contract in court in front of a judge...who will throw you out of the courtroom for wasting his time for 20 cents.

  • @aundreeuh Did they change their fee's? Yes they did and without notice nonetheless. Therefore the contract is subject to cancellation at the customers wish.

  • Comment removed

  • dude. you are officially my f***ing hero. I was on the phone for 2 hours with the toughest manager in the world, and had to lie saying i lost 1.4 million dollars in the last week, acting defensive and shit, used the argument about the fed tax thing which went up 10 cents since the last month, and accomplished to get my line cancelled for free instead of the 350 i had to pay. thank you so much and shavua tov!!!

  • This is fabulous! It worked in 10 minutes! Thanks for your help!

  • will this work if u just hae your phone u have now?

  • can someone please help me get out......they are saying they will offset the fee by giving me a credit and they won't let me past that

  • @sweetcarolinagirl79 There is no clause in the contract saying that they can offset the fee with a credit. The contract simply says that if they raise fee's that cause a materially adverse effect you may cancel your contract without early termination fee's. Get the customer service representative's name or employee ID and report them to the FCC.

  • Why would you want to cancel Verizon? The network is far superior.... who cares.. lol

  • @saxxman1 you must work for verizon

  • @saxxman1 phone brakes....need a new phone not paying retail new contract

  • I just attempted this method, here is what happened:

My latest bill's fees actually went down, so I tried to argue the previous bill before that, but they argued the, "if you use your Service after the change takes effect, that means you're accepting the change" clause. Since I used the service and paid the fees after receiving notice, I accepted the increases.

Word of advice, don't use the service or pay the for the fees after seeing the bill.

  • I work at verizon and i see how this can be valid, i would transfer you to a sup if i got this call, no service rep has the authority to actually do this and waive the etf fee, but i do see it as a valid argument

  • Seriously? You really don't have anything better to do than call people names?

  • I don't like the Verizon constitution
