What I saw was when Batista pushed Matt at the start of the match Matt shoved him back two steps no problem going on to kick him in the head and tag him three times in the stomach all before the commercial break after which he went on to hit the first of those three moves:

was a twist of fate that Matt nailed on Batista after recovering that fast from a missed Moonsault & Batista had to grab the bottom rope to save him from the 3 count. Oh yeah, I saw the WHOLE match which proves to me & surely countless others all Matt still is & how believably he can step up to any & all comers-including The Phenom; The Undertaker (& I RESPECT THE DEAD MAN. ALWAYS.) for the Hardcore Title yrs back; of course Matt got him from behind to do it but the man got it done.

Unfortunately Matt isn't really fit enough to compete anymore (not due to his weight but he has lost a lot of muscle mass due to different situations) but i guess he will not die & the animal has come unleashed!

Yeah, it can make you wonder, but we have to trust nobody knows the risks better than Matt & his doctors. Matt is extremely intelligent and I'm sure listened well to everything the doctors said and advised & is not about to risk his life or an early end to his career. Remember how he's had to adjust himself with his knee & this will be another though more serious, adjustment he must make but we have to trust that he will. Noone knows better than Matt how serious it is.
