i know this sounded minor compared to the problems in a world but i've had the expectation on me for so long it feels refreshing to not have to worry...i got into college anyway so it doesn't matter!
your video was so helpful...today I found out I'm neither the valedictorian nor the salutatorian that I thought I was for months, and I lost out to another girl in the last semester of senior year. however, it doesn't matter...it wasn't by that much, i was valedictorian at one point, and it doesn't measure the knowledge that i've learned...plus i don't have to write a speech now :)...i'm glad i saw this before college, i just wish i had seen it sooner ya know? thanks so much for your video
do what you feel that is important. college is not for everyone thus, you can only do so much. theyw ay you talk you ahve alot on your plate and i wish you luck.
Good video! That's like me: I failed all my college classes, but, damn, did I learn a bunch. A bunch of WHAT, I have no idea, but I shore did learn a bunch of it. :P
Just kidding...I think this is a wonderful approach and is actually shows clear and responsible priorities. You look so handsome in this video!
A very clever and mature approach I think Joey, a sort of holistic way of looking at it I guess. I wish you all the very best with your studies, and it's great to know how you're getting on :-D
I think you're getting there, Joey. In my ancient past, grades were absolute. You worked for grades, not just learning. I actually wound up on academic probation for a semester in my junior year, essentially because I'd learned too much. Long story...
Bottom line: what you gain from these years, in knowledge, in expanding your horizons, vastly outweighs the impact of an A or a B or a C.
Wow! That's a heavy class load. Yes, you really need to take care of YOU! You're right, learn the material and you'll do better. If you focus too much on the grades, you will block yourself from absorbing the knowledge. Good luck!
Interesting take on it - It does sounds as though you've got a good grasp of what's really important. You've surely got a full schedule; don't forget sleeping and eating! :)
great video, I actually didn't fully accept that concept until watching this video and I'm a senior in high school. Keep up these videos, they give me a great viewpoint of what to expect when I (hopefully) get accepted to GW
I know exactly what you are talking about. I learned the same thing my first year in college and it really makes a difference. You don't get as stressed out at exam time, you actually do better with assignments and term papers because they encourage learning, and it makes for a far better college experience. Good luck Joey!
@theballisred I did not. College grades do not come until december and I am quite sure that I have an A in all or most of my classes. BUT, that is not the point.................................... The point is to let go and put learning before education.
