The expansionism became state policy in the U.S. since the beginning of the century when President McKinley ordered the war of conquest of the Philippines (as well as the invasion and occupation of Cuba) based on "divine revelation" that he would have received. Its implementation has led to the massacre of 200 thousand patriotic Filipinos, coldly murdered by U.S. troops. Eminent persons as the writer Mark Twain protested against the infamy committed in the Philippines.

Lonehearts18 - yes. The primary objective of the attack was to sink the American carriers Enterprise and Lextingon. If they had succeeded in sinking or damaging the two beyond repair, Japan's carriers would have had free roam in the Pacific for some 12 months. Fortunately, the American carriers had left Pearl Harbour shortly before the attacking, allowing for the crucial Battle of Midway some 6 months after the attack. Either way however, Japan could not win the war with it's resource levels.

"SNEAK ATTACK" is a US Government MYTH developed by FDR, and US Government documents declassified in 1994 prove FDR planned and executed the whole thing for over a year by goading Japan with his "EIGHT INSULTS PLAN" into attacking Pearl Harbor, the goal of which was to trick America out of it's ISOLATIONIST MOOD and into WWII against the Axis Powers on the UK's side... and IT WORKED!!
The Attack on Pearl Harbor, far from being the "SURPRISE ATTACK" it was claimed, was the result of a deliberate (8-Point) Provocation Plan (known as "The McCollum Memo" (aka: "THE EIGHT INSULTS")) developed (at FDR's request) by Lt. Cmdr. Arthur McCollum, of the US Navy's Office of Naval Intelligence, and followed by FDR to goad Japan into the attack, with the goal of tricking Americans into entering WWII against the Axis Powers.
Station H knew the Japanese Fleet was coming, and so did FDR.
yea...both sides did wrong in ww2...look at what the usa did to japan...........warcrime? i think so...look at the bombing of dresden....warcrime? yes
@slowmode122 but didnt both japan and germany start the wars ? and was nt japan given the chance to surender but refused ? and did japan also send their officials into washington at the very moment they were attacking america ?
You'd think twice if you were being bombed, and the japanese did not start the war, do you not know that they saw a threat in the greeting that the us army gave the japanese when the president decided to open trade, to greet them, they just fired cannons, they saw this as the threat because its like saying hello with your hand on a pistol. Dont be racist, for all we know you could be some freakle faced nerd that just plays video games all day.
Where in the hell did you get THAT idea? Firing cannon entering a foreign port was a sign of greeting. The Japanese didn't start the war... you are right... Germany did.
Tylermannison - the war was the fault of both sides. America blockaded crucial Japanese oil supplies that meant the Empire would be crippled within two years due to the ongoing war in China. At the same time, the Japanese government and General Staff actively took steps to prevent diplomatic negotiation with America from proceeding too far - Yamamoto and the Naval Minister who succeeded him both urged a path of peace, not war. Learn your history my friend.

Como sempre, americanos sempre bonzinhos...
Quem acreditaria q os japoneses, com a reconhecida limitaçao de muniçao desperdiciariam balas em enfermeiras indefesas?

that is what it is like in my boots. war isn't never ment to be glorified,or awe. you civillians will never know what it is like to see your friend's head get blown off. that is all i want people to understand. is that in war mens worst immotions come out.war is nothing more that a clash of power in the political scale.were just the pawn that follow orders. i just hope no one ever gets to see the things i saw. AGAIN EXCUSE MY SPELLING...BEEN UP FOR 2 DAYS.
