  • And you too Could have health insurance for $10 a week if you organize! The average inflation rate is 3% so a 2.3(11.5/5)% rate would be a .7% loss a year. so 5 years from nov 3 2009 the workers would have the same buying power as if they were making 50205 in 09. Would you give up 3.5% of your income? and a total loss over 5 years of about $5500. wana give up $5500?

  • Right to work is just another tactic to divide and conquer. If not everybody's with the union, the whole point of collective bargaining is so that the workers are UNITED to have strength in numbers against the bosses.

Also: 3:45 THIS IS THE WHOLE GODDAMN POINT OF A STRIKE. They are shutting down the transit to show how important they are as a last resort bargaining chip. If you need them so much, maybe meet a few of their demands.

  • Boochlaroo You sound like you r against people Uniting for the better of each other. Helping one another, looking out for one another. I think we did something like that when we broke away from the King of England !!

  • 3martijns

The UAW was not and is not private. In the hand book they gave there members the 1st line said...The company has a right to run this company the way it seems fit! The Union leaders were paid by the company. Not by the members. You sound dead set against Unions

  • "Right to Work" means "Right to become a Slave", a race to the bottom. The job goes to the lowest bidder. We can see what this practice has wrought in states with high numbers of illegal aliens. This Faux production is deceptive.

  • Unions drive our jobs over seas then ruin the companies they hold hostage.

Way to go, you guys accomplish the very opposit of what you proclaim to achieve...TAKE AWAY AMERICAN JOBS.

  • @Boochlaroo: Wrong! It was NAFTA, and GATT that drove jobs overseas at the insistence of Wall Street moguls. The Federal Reserve is responsible for inflationary problems in America, and NOT private sector Unions as the MSM wrongfully claims.

  • blah blah they make too much...organize your fuckin workplace if you're jealous of the wages and bennies they recieve..stop living like a bunch of bitches...

  • lmfao....I make more than every union worker I know......and I have better health benefits

  • @jparish62: Then you probably work for the government.

  • nope. I used to be in the military, but I actually work for a private company

  • @jparish62: Does this private company you work for provide military hardware, or receive a substantial part of their revenue from government?

  • nope. it's a flour mill

  • @jparish62: Oh, very good. Where would we be without food, eh? Thanks for responding.

  • Automate the trollies.

  • Greedy corporarate thugs are the cause of this recession. I support my brothers and sisters in Philadelphia. All they want is a fair labor contract.

  • SEPTA system is a SEPTIC system.

Unions are a MAJOR contributor to economic problems.

  • 3martijns: PUBLIC SECTOR unions might be a problem, they receive their pay via tax dollars. PRIVATE SECTOR unions created the middle class in America. The middle class is all but gone in America today. We have a two class system. As private sector unions diminish, so will the middle class.

  • @joe80dman UAW is private, but Ruined our American auto industry.

  • @3martijns: Wrong. NAFTA destroyed the American auto industry, along with the Federal Reserve's practice of inflation-deflation of the dollar.

  • @joe80dman Sorry, but I'm afraid Most Honest Informed people would disagree with you. Sounds like you simply have a strong committment to unions.

  • @3martijns: Then what separates our economy from say, Bangladesh's economic system? Is that what you want? A corporate structure controlling every aspect of your life, and all for a "bigger bottom line" than the previous quarter? It's a race to the bottom, and we're headed there rapidly. Look at our economy today. Need I say more?

  • @joe80dman No I do Not want obamie and his Oligarchy. I want a true free enterprise system with unlimited competition, and Scant Government Involvement.

Right to Work states attract business Much More than other states.

  • @3martijns: Then, what is your position on public sector unions? Should government employees continue to unionize, while the private sector is relegated to underbid one another for available employment?

  • @joe80dman There should be No unions in public jobs, because they are paid by taxes, and Already have Much Higher Salaries and Benefits.

It's Almost Impossible to be Fired from a Civil Service Job - Sick Situation - Corrupt.

  • @3martijns: Agreed. While private sector jobs are vanishing by the thousands, local governments are hiring tens of thousands. An economic calamity is sure to follow for this idiotic practice. The MSM has been dumping on unions in the private sector for decades, but will never ridicule public sector unions. Today, the salaries, pension plans, and benefit packages of government employees are astronomically high. These perks have bankrupted states across the nation, yet they still cry poverty. (?)

  • @joe80dman We are on the Same Page. Fight for Right!

  • @3martijns Yeah, the UAW did it, not the shitty business practices of the auto companies such as making cars that people didn't want to buy.....
