Arnold was only on testosterone and dbol...etc. Nowdays guys are on HGH, insulin and all kinds of crazy stuff. Some of these new age bodybuilders look like they have over 40 inch waists on competition day!!! You're right, it has gotten a bit extreme.

You couldn't get HGH back then; that's why you only see old midgets nowadays, i.e. there are no more YOUNG midgets now that we got HGH to cure dwarfism.

The sad thing about medical progress is that we don't SEE it, i.e. you just see healthy people and it gets taken for granted-- that's why idiots push for socialized medicine.

And that's why old doctors like Ron Paul HATE it, i.e. they've SEEN what US medicine cured-- and what will happen when it's GONE.

Yeah, Franco was undoubtedly stronger in powerlifting. But Jack Lalanne never used steroids. Arnold and Franco did.  When Jack was 70 yrs old, he swam, handcuffed and shackled, for 1.5 miles, towing 70 rowboats, with 1 person in each boat, in Long Beach harbor. Franco is 70 years old right now. Arnold is 65 years of age. You think they could tow them boats like Jack did? At 70 years of age, Lalanne was still Jacked (pun intended) and ripped to shreds! Arnold looks old, soft, and fat.

At niels, I agree. Arnold himself says that it's like creating a sculpture. Only more difficult because instead of using clay you're sculpting the human body. Body building was meant to be more than just big big big muscles. It's about the size, proportion, quality and flowing nature of the body.
