@SLaYD666 TACP is a team of usually 1 romad(a new tacp member) and a JTAC. Only the JTAC is authorized to call in the strike. CCT is a certified air traffic controller that CAN also be a certified JTAC. They clear areas to set up airfields and direct strikes.

@TonyN737 okay the differenct between a jtac, tacp and cct is that a jtac is the person who decides to actually have an air strike called in. the tacp then uses the radio to call it in. cct (combat control) is a special operations group that are air traffic controllers and jtac certified they are sent to clear airfields and call in air strikes for people like the green berets and navy seals.

@Romad04 I aggree, I was in the corps in 93-97 and i was brainwashed at an early age by my dad that was with 8th and I, now im 36 and going in the ANG and going for TACP, i saw how much better the AF is with a lot of things. @jovanbiljon i just went to my guard recruiter and signed up. we have other guys in my unit that were prior army and marines, u need to get your prior record and meds, its not hard, just go to the ang recruiter and you should be good to go.let me know if u need anything else.

@brent52 TACP goes in with a joint force such as army or navy possibly and is responsible for calling in the air strikes or any kind of coordinates. A CCT goes in before anyone else and clears out air fields or makes them, they too are a joint force with other branches. They are more of a sneaky sneaky SOF and the TACP is more of a "you go bye bye"

I had to laugh at this video. I looked up what TACP was on the internet and thought it was funny that these guys are considered "Air Force Special Forces"... Everything that was shown in this video I.E... PT, SATCOM, hikes, more PT.... nothing the AVERAGE Marine grunt doesn't do, besides maybe dealing with SATCOM all the time. and just because you call airstrikes for CAS makes you special forces... just goes to show why the Marines are the most efficient fighting force in the nation.

@teknicalslay TACP are considered SF because they go to a lot of schools (sniper, medic, etc) and join and assist conventional military as well as other special forces operators on missions. They can tag along with SEAL, PJ, and Army SF. They get SF recognition because they are out there putting everything on the line, just like everyone else.

@SLaYD666 TACP is a team of usually 1 romad(a new tacp member) and a JTAC. Only the JTAC is authorized to call in the strike. CCT is a certified air traffic controller that CAN also be a certified JTAC. They clear areas to set up airfields and direct strikes.

@TonyN737 okay the differenct between a jtac, tacp and cct is that a jtac is the person who decides to actually have an air strike called in. the tacp then uses the radio to call it in. cct (combat control) is a special operations group that are air traffic controllers and jtac certified they are sent to clear airfields and call in air strikes for people like the green berets and navy seals.

@brent52 TACP goes in with a joint force such as army or navy possibly and is responsible for calling in the air strikes or any kind of coordinates. A CCT goes in before anyone else and clears out air fields or makes them, they too are a joint force with other branches. They are more of a sneaky sneaky SOF and the TACP is more of a "you go bye bye"

We made the take the equipment and set it up then tear it down all day for the first three days because they could not get it. Finally because of muscle memory they started to get it. yeah they are real "high speed". And just so you know, ANYONE in the marines can go to jump school and be airborne qualified.. ANYONE.. I'm a tech myself and we have a guy who has been through jump school. So yes, it is VERY easy for an "average grunt" as you put it, to go through jump school.

I have a sergeant in my shop who holds the MOS 5953, ATC Radar technician who has been through jump school and has jump wings on his chest, so DO NOT talk unless you absolutely know what you are talking about. He is a first term Marine who DID NOT have it in his enlistment contract NOR did he have the CO send him, our OIC who is a CWO-4 sent him. Shut up before you hurt yourself.

And they had SEALs AND Air Force Para Rescue/Air Force Combat Controllers... guess that's what happens when you send the Army, Air Force, and Navy to do a Marine's job. @teknicalslay TACP are considered SF because they go to a lot of schools (sniper, medic, etc) and join and assist conventional military as well as other special forces operators on missions. They can tag along with SEAL, PJ, and Army SF. They get SF recognition because they are out there putting everything on the line, just like everyone else.

I chose my job feild because it will help me later in life, securing my comfort of living.
