Glad Jaimie can move but he will be out of hockey for a while at least 2 months. I remember meeting Jaimie at the kettler elevator when he played for the caps. He was a really nice guy. My prayers go out to the Heward family. Im also glad Ovechkin skated over to see Jaimie. He was a class act in this situation

I was at this game. It seemed like Heward was out forever, but I guess out for 4 minutes. Ovie stood around to see if he was ok. I know Ovie felt bad afterwards. I was one of the Caps fans that clapped for Heward when taken away on stretcher. I can't remember if I posted on this before, if so, sorry. If not..there's my 2 cents. Good luck to the Caps in the playoffs.

Seems to me he was peeling off of Heward because Heward turned his back on Ovi while he was giving chase. It is hard to stop at that speed and that close. No way Ovi would have avoided it if he tried. Also Ovi could have went straight in on him full bore but clipped him.

Heward was playing the puck, so he got hit. That's hockey. Ovechkin doesn't try to hurt players... he's simply an intense hockey player. Fortunately, it has been reported that Heward does have limb movement... he does have a concussion though.

UPDATED: Heward has been diagnosed with a concussion and has motion in all his extremities, according to a team spokesman. Heward is being taken to the hospital for furter evaluation.

i was there i was up a little high but i could see his head hit the boards. I was praying for him the whole time he lay there. Ovechkin wasnt tryin to hurt him and if anybody saw the interview he was shekn up by it, looks like its a concussion and nothing more. Hope its not too bad.
