Someone went to the trouble of setting up two mics, and then didn't record the Audio directly from the board?...that recording would be priceless to have..
He was a shadow of his former self but he had such dignity i just hope june and johnny are reunited and entertaining everyone up there like they did down here god bless you both
i have been looking for this for a while... his speech about June made me cry a little. i'm only sad that he didn't die a bit sooner, after June died, i can only imagine that he lay down in bed every night hoping to be re-united with her. i thank whatever higher power there is be it god, allah, buddah or even the flying spaghetti monster that he wasn't forced to live too long without her.
I love this man. I only wish I could have watched him do his magic in person. He was so real, so strong & an absolute inspiration. Where are you know Johnny when we need you most?
no. put ear buds in and crank it up. also, it helps if you know how old southerners with breathing problems sound. you can hear him say, heaven. like the old hymns spell it, "heav'n". come down from hell doesn't make sense.
I went to a GWAR concert a couple months back, and they had a bunch heavy metal bands go on before them. Yet when it came time for people to wait for their set, what did they choose to play during set up time? Johnny Cash's greatest hits. About 15 songs from "I walk the line" to "Jackson" all the way to "Hurt". And wouldn't you know it every single person in that room sang every single word to every song. To this day, I've never seen or heard anything as powerful as that nite. Thank you, Johnny.
He is definatley saying "Heaven" ....R.I.P. John and June you both made your marks on this earth that can never be forgotten or replaced. Plus a love that was so strong and amazing, which would put any romance novel or fairytale to shame.
So unbelievably hard to watch. What an amazing and inspiration man. "I thank God for June Carter," He looks absolutely destroyed- hope they're together now.
English is not my native language, so it is hard for me to understand what is Johnny Cash saying at the minute 4:12. I asume it's something about June Carter.
If anyone please could write down what he's saying, I'll be very thankfull.
@TatoMome "the spirit of June Carter overshadows me tonight, with the love she had for me and the love I have for her. We connect somewhere between here and hell. She came down for a short visit, I guess from hell to visit with me tonight to give me courage and restoration(?), like she always has, she's never been one for me except courage and inspiration(?). I think a lot of June Carter, I love her with all my heart. I would like to do a song that she wrote, that she was extremely proud of
@TatoMome heaven makes more sense to me but I listen to it over and over and it definitely sounds like he says "hell"..well I hope he is saying heaven
How could anyone walk in front of Johnny Cash while he is singing? Just stay wherever the hell you are until he is finished with the song and feel privileged you got to see and hear one of the greatest perform! Oh well, at least one guy tried to duck under the camera.
It saddens me to see and hear a johnny cash so weak, but injected me strength. Force that appears in these songs. Two months after this video dies, but a legend was born... Set an example in difficult situations, forever Johnny Cash.
When I listened to this, it took my breath away. I played both these songs at my Mom's service. Mom's favorite of all time. Hard to listen to, but I know that they are both singing in Heaven....
the thing that botherss me are the people just walking around. most people would kill to get one more performance from johnny, i know i would. i wish i grew up in those days to see him back then, and im only 14
only a sick sick bastard would dislike this. im a ozzy guy kinna but i love johnny cash more! this guy is a legend! i grew up to his music, and im 14!
Johnny Cash is seriously my idol. I've watched everything on him. This video just made me think of the brevity of life and how it goes so fast. It also made me think, I really hope I have had as fulfilling and impactful of a life as Johnny when I am at this point in my life. I love you Johnny.
He could just sit there and not say a damn thing and i'd be happy. And shame on all those people running around as he sings, this is Cash, how disrespectful. I knew it would never be the same after he died, it hasn't either. Not a fan of todays country, i miss the good old country 60's & 70's & 80's.We'll never forget "The Boy Named Sue" R.I.P.
In 2002 Johnny Cash recorded a box set with producer Rick Rubin, the box set is named Cash Unearthed. Each disk of the 5 disk set has a specific theme.

Vol Four: My Mother's Hymn Book
Vol Five: Best of cash On America
It is on volume 5 that you will find "Hurt" closing out the box set. You will also find "Rusty Cage" (Chris Cornell) and Solitary man Neal Diamond)
guess im one of the lucky people who met john even if it was 4 minutes long lol i'll never forget glastonybury me and 3 mates snook backstage for autographes secruity stopped us just as john was walking to stage he shouted hey boys shook are hands and said you shouldnt be here and laughed with a wink :) good memory.
were very lucky we ever had [THE MAN IN BLACK]to ever play music for us mere mortals.at all.anything more than that is gravy people.[he was the original rebel .way back when it wasnt cool to be a bad boy.and he changed music all the way back to elvis.and so on ,all the way back.....to real music.
One of the reasons I love Johnny so much is that he reminds me of my grandpa. This is extremely hard to watch just like it was seeing my grandad in the hospital for the last time but they both gave it their all to the end. There are no words for much love and respect I have for this man.
@sabrinigreen: Johnny Cash married June Carter, who was the daughter of "Mother" Maybelle Carter, who with her sister and brother-in-law, were The Carter Family, one of the most influential country music groups in history. The Carter Family Fold is a memorial and performance venue in Hiltons, Virginia, dedicated to preserving and presenting old time country and bluegrass music. Johnny Cash played there many times.

I always thought of Ring of Fire as an exciting song about a love affair, but after seeing Johnny sing it here, it becomes a sad song about memories of falling into love, and the time you shared, and the sadness now that you're all alone, again.
We will miss them, but isn't Heaven's choir sounding sweeter?
There will never be another Johnny Cash. i watch some of these videos over and over. There is a quality to his voice that is unique. His own brother Tommy seems ordinary by comparison.
It takes a lot to make me shed a tear but this is the exception. Even as old man he still had such passion and talent. His music holds a special place in the heart of millions of people young and old. He is hands down the greatest. The world misses you Mr. Cash and June too. If more people loved like he and June did, I think the world would be a much better place..
I think about the people running around when he's singing... he must be performing at a home for retardeds, right? Their heads cannot be working properly.
Fucking people walking around, no respect for the great legend. I'm only 14, and even i understand that. I wanna kick all those people in the face until they bleed out of their ears, and then kill them so hard that they DIE TO DEATH
Someone went to the trouble of setting up two mics, and then didn't record the Audio directly from the board?...that recording would be priceless to have..

@carntogher13 Totally agree. Do they not realize who he is and what an honor it is to be witnessing a legends heartfelt performance?

The people walking in front of the camera should be kicked on their asses. Show some respect for The Man in Black.
