This past week this song was played at the funeral of a friend-a 39 year old woman named Laura. I will never hear this song the same way again. It took a song that I had always liked and gave it a whole new life for me. I'm grateful for music that can touch my soul almost 30 years later. Immortal stuff.

I had the pleasure of sitting and talking with Mr. Cross a few years ago. He is as kind in person as you see in this video. He is a rare man of character. 25 years before I met him in person, his music soothed my sad heart as I went thru the trauma of divorce.

@harrasin No, This Laura was shot in the head by a stray bullet as she was riding in the car of the parent's of Christopher's girlfriend. Many Laura's die young just as any other common name.

I had the priviledge to attend one of his concerts in Manila, Philippines in the early eighties... I was enthralled! I still find him one of the most talented artists of our time. His genre is unique, beautiful, touching and most of all, timeles... Thank you Mr. Cross!

Hi Sophie,
I had the pleasure of sitting and talking with Mr. Cross a few years ago. He is as kind in person as you see in this video. He is a rare man of character. 25 years before I met him in person, his music soothed my sad heart as I went thru the trauma of divorce.
How I wish we could give to him what he has given us in his music!

@fluffythecat2 Why doesn't that surprise me? His talent, his sensitivity both shine through his music and lyrics. Too bad he didn't get the notoriety of lesser gifted but more exposed groups. Just stumbled on this video. This song came out right after a girl in my 7th or 8th grade class killed herself. My school was very small, and my class heard the gunshot from across the street. Every single time I hear this song, I think of my classmate.
