i'd say, the best way to really harness what talent you have is to try covering with the accompaniment. if you only want people to hear your voice, listen to the accompaniment in ear phones :) because despite what people are saying, you can sing. you definitely have potential and you'd be less pitchy with an accompaniment to follow :)
