If I was a part of that orchestra and she'd be at the piano...I wouldn't take my job seriously any more :/ I mean...how old was she here? 10? less?more? well...less than me for certain xD
It would be an awesome performance if Yoon a in, Marc Yu, George Li, Andrew Li, and Bethany Mo played together since they are all around the same age and have an amazing talent at playing the piano.
Wonderful, Bravo! And.... wtf was that from the audience? There should have been a standing ovation, but I think all I heard was something sounding like a gaggle of trolls throwing up on each other... Too bad, she deserved much better!
How refreshing it is to see you smile at the end of this 2nd mv, when people applauded while they shouldn't have :-) it shows how in control you are :-) and how you enjoy playing :-) you are already such an amazingly accomplished pianist at only 10 Y/O, now you are 14 , I have been viewing all your videos on Y/T, also with your little sister playing violin, and can't wait for more !!.... :-) :-) and what a beautiful dress !..
The recording is not perfect, unfortunately...but her depth of emotions is amazing in such a young player...let's hope she's not one of the many meteors of the prodige-children :-)
@cartof2004 honestly, how can you possible know how the WHOLE population of 8-16 year olds in this world that play that concerto are not better than her just because they aren't broadcasted all over the Internet? Seriously, she is good, but you can't say she's the best, that's ludicrously absurd. A very wise person said "Theres always 1 person better than you in this world"
@cartof2004 Why do people have to make a competition out of music. Is it not much more than sports? I guess people who started this don't understand that music is spiritual not meterial.
Why do people keep saying she will be great one day? She is a great pianist NOW!! What they mean is 'She will be a more 'well known' pianist'. She is as good as anyone I have heard, but I have no doubt some of you 'purist critics' will disagree.
Recognise her genius at this present time - if you are honest!
This is intense difficult music .Not digitally difficult but requires timing ,emotional and musical intelligence which this child has already.I so enjoy all the posting s featuring her hear. Her baroque sense is unutterably right . her Poulenc a thing of joy and her Chopin here will mature over time but she is making real music ,phrasing, dynamics and characterization now.wow!!!
Oh... I can tell she is good. 10 years? My god... I hope we can hear more from her in years to come. Chopin's concertos are so difficutl and the music is just lovely. How sad he did not compose more of them :)
When we compare the professionalism of the anonymous Russian blonde second violinist, who plays her small part with such dedication in support of the star, with a slob like Gilbert Kaplan, who egotistically "conducts" slave orchestras in Mahler's Resurrection symphony, we are disgusted.
A stunning performance which intertwines perfectly with the orchestra, lack of rubato in some aeas although understandable since she's with an orchestra!!!!!!!!!!!WAY TO GO
Iamnotatree, to right your not a tree your a complete loser with no vidoes of your own like all the others who post comments like that, you'd probably struggle to play snap!!
Subscribe to me and I'll post a video in a few days or so. My point was that his comment originated from hindsight bias. Ya her mom forced her to do it but that doesn't mean she doesn't see the beauty in the song just because she was forced to do it. Maybe she was forced to PLAY when she was younger, but she chose this song.
ooooooo please if you can see the message please reply ooooooooooooooooooooo please can you marry me i am totaly in love with you your mind is so great i love you
Where does she study? Could somebody please tell me? I am looking for a teacher,..I am 22. I need a teacher who would take in somebody like me. I've been playing for about 10 years now but never had very good piano education(I'm from India). I have found my way to Vienna now where I am taking lessons at one of the conservatories here. Can people suggest great piano teachers in Europe? All i want to be doing is music..
i'm so jelouse~ she's ten, and performs a chopin piano concerto, and i just turned 17, and i havent done ANY piano concertos... i freak out in front of people!!.... hahaha~~~
Beautiful. I think there is excellent musicianship here; we have lots of musicology and academic knowledge affecting classical music performance today, but I'm more interested in hearing what someone with a fresh, original child's view can do with the music.
Yoon A In, you are a very rare talent. When the time is right, research about Chopin: his life and pian. Then, you'll understand his music better. Please post more video. My piano students and I would like to know more about you.
quite impressive. her parents must be proud.i would like to congradulate them for being able to let their amazing daughter express her talent in accompaning orchestras like this.
Watching her hands on the keys is like watching a "Prima Ballerina Assoluta" dancing in the air. Her fingers, hands, yes even her body seems supended in a trance like motion as they glide so gracefully accross the keys! ...I read Kroneage's comments: and yes you are so right about this beautiful young girl and her extradinary gifts of talent!!!
Absolutely breathtaking! She exhibits the lucidity the meta-physical connection with the music of Luiza Borac and Rachmaninoff and Horowitz combined into one tiny package! Whoever thinks asians play mechanically needs to watch this! I can't begin to imagine what she will be like in her later years!
Remarkable. Played with such good taste - understated, but more expressive than some of the more heavily interpreted versions which we hear from older pianists; indeed, she successfully avoids the interpretative traps which many older pianists fall into. The third movement is also on YouTube and is also well worth hearing.
Perfecto

A SECOND VIOLINIST
She waited as the girl started her beautiful music.
Looking at the audience, she saw them with their attention focused on the girl
Like Odysseus listening to Sirens.
She smiled. This was where she would always be, backstage, helping the Queen into her finery.
Yet, she was content to listen to the mermaid's music, to support her, to be the rock she clung to in the water, the seashell she slept in.
Yes, she was content to be the sea in which the little mermaid swam.
