  • I need to learn this, can kill the shit out of someone.

  • @Athrunwong the only reason one should learn any fighting style is not to "kill the shit out of someone" its to defend against an attacker when running away isn't an option. i have been in a knife fight before i was with a female friend of mine and this asshole pulls a knife and points it at me, i grab his arm and pull the small fixed blade on me out and jab it into his gut, he ran off but i wound up with 2 deep lacerations on my arm. unless your well trained no one wins in a knife fight.

  • ever consider ATLANTA for your appearances?? if not i'll have to keep watching these videos repeatedly....which isnt bad at all!

  • ok, for all of you who requested the song, filesonic com slash file slash 1144412454 you have to add the dubya dubya dubya in front

  • According to my opinion, Silat Suffian is similar with Pencak Silat. Its stance, block, and lock techniques are similar.

  • According to my opinion, Silat Suffian is similar with Indonesian Pencak Silat. But it has been developed well.

  • This guy truly is the real deal. I would pay $10 for the song in this video. That song is enough to make my grandmother want go start a fight. If anyone knows how I could find that song I would appreciate it.

  • @9aspire it is a malay song by artist ruffedge, called membebel. membebel is nagging in malay

  • @9aspire the song link for ya in my other comment. enjoy!

  • you have a gun. he has a knife. Shoot him

  • @Nhia89 Ever think maybe non-lethal defense? Killing someone is still killing someone.

  • @picassopainter2 and beeing attacked by someone is still beeing attacked by someone! You have to defend yourself even if its necessary to shot your opponent. Fight first, think after.

  • @o00BIGboss00o Also consider not having any ammo...

  • @all please aware that central and southern philipine was under the control of malayan sultanates, even today capital city of philipne(manila) was named by malayan sultanate(Sulu sultanate). The similarity of movements of kali and silat here simply because kali is actually silat, it just tagalog word for it.

  • i have my first silat grading coming up in a few weeks :D

  • what if two people who know this started to fight? would they battle to eternity?

  • lineage?.. this is what happens when we fail to recognize our roots.. everything is very lapulapu... wish the old man were still alive..

  • @mrMP40sw those who dwell in the past forgets to make his own history in the future. If Lapu Lapu is still alive right now, you would still critisize him and glorify "other" past dead warriors. Phrase those who are doing well infront of your eyes, not people who are dead hundreds of years ago. There is no point to.

  • What the hell? if you have a gun just step back and shoot him!

  • Love your stuff!.... Will be looking for a DVD on you!

  • Amazing. Even in a "demonstration" video, Maul follows through until the killing blow. Even in a demo, he's training. Always training. I have to respect that.

  • hey r u a cop? n i noticed u kik people in the balls alot do all cops do that?

  • great video, thnx

what is the music? its also cool :)

  • the knife, a million ways to fuck you up in counting.

  • @bayyagg It's sad how people like you can't admit himself that he's wrong. End of discussion.

  • @WhiteKnighT161

Try to watch this and see the similarity and compare the smoothness and much deadlier form!.... these folks are from province in the Philippines! A small town outside any city!v=Qmp2_WdFoPE&feature=PlayList&p=0D4B7DF5E7238F7C&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=20

    Oki!

  • @bayyagg memajal baie ani balik2

  • Comment removed

  • @bayyagg Do I sound like I'm pissed? and what mistake? wow, you really are stupid. Like I said learn proper English, and please grow up. When you have matured enough, then you can come back, then we talk. But that won't make a difference now does it? You're stupid, can't tell what is being said. So, shut up and find someone else to pick a fight with, which I'm pretty sure you will from what I've read on your previous comments on other people. Which also proves you're an arrogant asshole.

  • Those Martial Art instructors came from The Philippines!

Hired by the company from Brunei!

  • @bayyagg are you trying to say the guy in the video Maul is from the Philippines? if so, Maul Mornie is Bruneian not Filipino. And SSBD (Silat Suffian Bela Diri) is Bruneian traditional martial arts.

  • @WhiteKnighT161

THat video is not from the Philippines! Maul Mornie studied Filipino Knife fighting and most SSBD instructors are Filipinos!

SSBD is not a traditional martial art! it was just an Martial Arts organization in Brunei!

  • @bayyagg Who said the video is from the Philippines? And you said "Those" which could only mean you're saying those guys in the video are Filipinos. SSBD is a Bruneian martial art system which was created by his family & he's the 4th generation of Silat Sufian.

Get your facts straight, you can just go to his channel and he states that it is a Traditional art which already proves that you're wrong and can no longer back up your other claims. You make yourself sound like a dramatic know-it-all.

  • @WhiteKnighT161

Huh? Those .. means the instructors NOT ViDEO!

    Ur twisting the subject!

Hahahaha!... then go to that site... and see those people commented and history of Brunei fighters!

    Read english well!

  • @bayyagg It's obvious you're stupid and don't understand English well or just a kid who looks for attention or probably even both. Plus, you're an egocentric and a hypocrite, you just can't admit the fact that SSBD is a Bruneian martial art. What's next you're going claim that Brunei is part of Philippines too? In you're dreams. And you told me to read English well? The one who needs to be educated and comprehend what being said here is NOT ME but YOU. Learn proper English. Fag.

  • @WhiteKnighT161

If u doubt me, try looking at the sites of Pinoy knife fighting

  • @WhiteKnighT161

    You haven't seen a Filipino fighter can attack a man holding a revolver(not automatic) gun w/in 5meters!

Seen one! can even dodge a bullet fired from a gun until the gun loss all the bullet!

  • @WhiteKnighT161

    But...

    The video impresses me!

Can be teach to any aspiring and hungry for NEW TECHNIC in fighting!

  • badass soldier haha

  • @ 3:00 pwned by silat

  • cmon cmon cmon do a bazooka next....

  • Looks easy but silat is actually hard to learn but very worth it : )

  • It's much easier to get a gun out of someones hands than it is a knife, and it's much easier to miss with a gun at close range because u shouldn't miss with a knife lol

  • Whats the music called please?

  • It's from Malaysian band RUFFEDGE FEAT. AMUK-MEMBEBEL SONG

  • RUFFEDGE FEAT. AMUK- MEMBEBEL SONG

    Malaysian band

  • wow! really good instruction vids! I practice Silat Panglipur and Silek Tuo Minang Harimau, but this Silat style is also great!

BTW what's the music? it's really cool!

  • ade sikit2 persamaan dengan buah silat cekak la.

  • Ive been watching these videos for the past 2 years. I used to do a lot of work in LA and got mugged one day with a knife and didnt know what to do. So I started watching this. A few days ago it happend again and I got out without a scratch and a knew knife. Thanks alot for the videos, Silat.

Might I ask tho where did you learn all this from?

  • @dragonx190 silat just rrocks man same thing here ! i american but really silat saved my life ! silat , perhaps the most deadly martial arts ever created by man !

  • 3 yaers and i still watching this video

  • andreikamiKaze, I would like to thank you personally for your constant support and friendship on youtube. Its very much appreciated :) - Maul Mornie

  • thank you .Its a honor for me.

your are the best and i hope to be at lago di garda in italy to train with you next year.

    -Andrei Razboinic.

  • Very nice videos. very impressed. where do you train?

  • @andreikamiKaze I know! I constantly go back and watch Guru Maul's videos. I usually focus on one technique (usually >5 seconds lol) and get my old training notes out from other instructors and spend an hour or so brushing the rust off an old technique or adding a new one. Always great stuff.

  • ОЧЕНЬ ХОРОШАЯ ТЕХНИКА, ОПЯТЬ ЖЕ,СИЛЬНО НАПОМИНАЕТ КАЛИ-ПАНАНТУКАН.

  • son todos unos putos

  • Been to one of his seminars. The guy is for real. Very quick very effective self defence. Why are clueless dildos on this post talking about the UFC? UFC IS A SPORT WITH RULES!

  • I think it would require @ least 10 years of practice to be able to perform these movements in a real life situation.

  • He kinda reminds me of snake from MGS4 excet snake is really clumsy

  • to me he's more like Marshall Law except that Maul is REALLY the King of Iron Fist

  • Good stuff maul but it would be easier if you stop

the guy with a Bazooka. Why would anyone run out of bullets in real life?

Oh yeah and 'I wanna see you try a machete disarm in the UFC!!!'

  • this guy could beat the crap out of any ufc fighter hands down blind folded

  • I don't think this guy is into 'beating' anyone.

From what I seem to understand SSBD is all about survival and not about getting into the ring with UFC or MMA people.

Besides I don't think they allow knives or machetes in a UFC competition.

  • i hope your comments were a joke. What is it with ignorant UFC fans about martial arts? I love the UFC just as much as the next guy but fuck, he wouldnt disarm a machete in a ufc fight because what why would a machete be in the UFC in the first place lol? Secondly nobody is saying or advising to use bare hands when you have a weapon in your in hands in reality. The stupidity reasoning these days with ignorant UFC fans "if i dont see it in the UFC, it doesnt work." you have a computer, research

  • The machete defences look like the attacker doesn't work from full range. Similar like while doing stick work and anyhow hitting with the hand..

What comes to gun disarms. It is an act of fate. In the real situation when it happens for each 1/1M of us, it's not what you do but how you do. You must have clear vision of disarm and fate on your self. Then you may make it.

Anyhow, awesome technique and admirable philosophy behind these videos. I truly admire work of Silat people..

  • I like listening to all the experts on these comments. LOL

  • The real knowledge of the art is in the free training, this is the best way .This is only a commercial video of some tecniques by a good master. Remember ...most famous sometime are not the best! There are many excelent specialist in "the dance of the life" in the shade of the silence.

  • When you have a weapon, you use the FULL reach of that weapon... these attacks he defends against are all from up close. If someone was to use the full reach of their weapon against someone who is trying to catch the other persons hand they are going to get hurt.

  • extending to full reach is too commiting. more often than not, you're creating more openings for counterattacks then less.

but what happens most often, though, is that if you attack from a distance with full range, you just make it easier for your opponent to simply step back out of range...

  • Nice...but at 2:53 it does not make sense. What if attackers finger is at the trigger? You will get yourself killed. But i am sure you guys are the expert.

  • I agree completely. Never pull a gun across your body or in front of your face in a disarm. Also if you have a gun why would you close the gap to take a stick?

  • this could be good 4 the police guys. if they have no weapons they could just do like this to attack.

  • lagu nie sape yg nyanyi?

  • police may not come in time.

  • disagree

  • 1.46 hahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahhahahhahahahahahhahahahahhaha

  • 9 11 would be one of the best sources of protection , jk ........ u never know what to do until u in that situation

  • there is a reason why soldiers, commandos and any other security forces learn this kind of stuff.

Of coz u wont stand a chance against someone with a gun if there's a considerable distance between the two of u. But if u are close enough to your opponent, this will come in handy >:)

  • Faceless, because they are stupid enough to point it at your head. With a gun, I belive you want the gun where they can not bat it down, as by then the gun is not pointing at you.

Thats from ANDY Mc Nab BTW

  • If you ever meet a guy with a mustache and a gun in an unfinished basement, now you'll know what to do.

  • Risk getting shot by touching him lightly and hoping for him to fall down like a house of cards?

  • does this promote self defense or promote better educated violence? prolly both hey

  • cheeco, why hurt yourself when you can bring people down easy. thats stupid

  • I like the stuff were the offensive guy had the gun

  • this is good for POWLICE!!!!

  • guns are for pussies

  • yeah it bcos u dont have it then u call it pussy.. LOL, for what hurt ur self if u can destroy ur opponent in a second..? think smart.. =)

  • yeah its because ur a pussy u call it smart get some balls

  • This reminds me of Naked Snake's CQC from Metal Gear Solid 3.

  • @mrfamous333 Hehe, Big Boss would be proud. :D

  • whats the name of the song?

  • what song is it

  • reminds me of some Nam vets I know

  • one thing u guys should really think about carefully before posting comments abut shooting here and there. In most of the countries in Asia, for example in Malaysia, firearms are really really really really really really really really hard to get. Martial arts are always the one ppl resorted into and knife is always the favourite weapon.

  • bla bla bla ,

    im seriously you guy's xD

  • Why, if you have a gun, would you attempt to disarm a knife attack hand to hand?

    Pull the damn trigger..

  • Gun can be jammed, out of ammo, you may not know the state of it, you may not have bullet in chamber, also you could risk injuring someone else except the assilant by shooting in some situations or you just dont want to kill.

  • This should never happen.

If this happens, you made an epic mistake. Not that you DESERVE to be stabbed, but still, this should never happen.

You SHOULD know the state of it, and you SHOULD have a round in the chamber. Otherwise, how did you get the gun?

  • It should not happen but no matter how hard you try it can still happen.

You can know a state of YOUR weapon but not a weapon taken/retended from your enemy.

There are people who prefer wearing a gun without bullet in the chamber. No matter what you thing they SHOULD do.

  • Your taking the rare chance of getting attacked, the rare chance of having a gun that fail, the rare chance of the enemy having a knife, the rare chance that he has the mentality to use it, and the rare chance that you'll react like this.

All the effort you put into doing this stupid response for such a rare situation, would be better spent making sure this situation never happens in the first place.

Also, ALWAYS carry cocked and locked.

  • Chance of getting attacked is not so rare for policemen. The gun doesnt have to fail in order to use this kind of solution. Enemy with a knife isnt so rare since it is cheap and without regulation (except some states, but bad guys wouldnt care with regulatiuon) also it can be some improvised edged weapon. Chance of react like this is rising by training.

  • As I said before: No matter how hard you try to prevent it, it can still happpen.

You can be attacked from side while engaging one enemy and it may be too late to just shoot.

No matter what you say or do, the possibility of those situation is there. Then saying, that it should not happen, wont help you right? What is so difficult on understanding that?

  • I'm saying the effort put into this is better put into making sure the situation will never happen, which is as simple as carrying a clean firearm properly..

What little chance there is of this happening is infinitly better put into learning to correct a failure of a firearm.

I could walk down the street and get hit by a meteorite but you don't see me scanning the skies every moment to dodge them.

  • Being able to use your firearm as a cold weapon should be part of complex training with a gun as well as fixing the jam and cleaning. It is not so much effort. For example in Krav Maga are techniques with a gun practicly the same as with bare hands.

It is a little bit of paradox that you as an american say that there is so little chance of having your weapon jammed since US army use M 16 A2 assault rifle which gets jammed pretty easily...

  • Are you shooting regulary? If you are, dont tell me that your gun wasnt at least one time jammed. As I said before it is not just for situations when your weapon is jammed. You can also run out of ammo. Enemy can be too close to be stopped just by shooting, or you just dont want to shoot. There may another attacker with bare hands. There plenty of situations.

  • My guns only jam when I neglect them which is never (Not anymore).

There are an infinite amount of things that can go wrong with a firearm, but again, none of them probably enough to warrant practicing gun vs knife in melee combat..

What? M16A2 is totally different than this handgun example. Yes, I know someone who had their M4 fail on them and they resorted to their bayonet... That's different.

By no means should you be swinging your M16 around like your bruce lee.

  • Assault rifles are the same subject. Using firing weapon as a cold one. I am not a fan of Bruce Lee. To answear your other arguments I would have to repeat myself over and over again, but you are not listening.

BeatPusher 303 is right. This is nonsense. You will stay behind your truth and I will stay behind mine. I dont see a reason why to continou in this.

  • what if you have a round in a chamber, but are being attacked by a distraught/crazy person, whom it is not their fault they are trying to harm you. A friend of mine was attacked with a knife while n duty and had to resort to the use of his glock, training like this may have prevented that from happening

  • Sorry, I'd (generally) just shoot the crazy/distraught person.

I'm not saying they deserve to get shot, but if I have to choose between risking my life and risking a crazy person's life, I'd rather risk the later.

  • I agree with you stealth. In a self defense situation, a trigger will be pulled.

Perhaps if you're trying to take a prisoner alive? Questioning or interrogation perhaps.

  • Then you shoot the legs...

If this person is such an important VIP, that you can't possibly risk a legshot, bring a less than lethal alternative.

  • lol. less than lethal alternative. xD Silat hand to hand is almost as lethal as just shooting someone, since almost all their targets are targets you can hit to kill the first time lol.

  • Another good question is:

Why would you even consider attacking someone who has a gun drawn at you with his finger on the trigger?

  • because hes gonna shoot you ...if you dont do something

  • To be honest, I'd probably run the fuck away and hope for the best. Seems like that one has better odds of success than attacking the person.

  • run away and hope for the best ?? with a knife you might be right.... but not with a gun.

  • He hasn't shot you yet, what makes you think he's going to do so in the future? Most of the time when someone draws a weapon and doesn't go on to use it right away they want something from you.

  • not in a combat or war situation tho... what if you gave him what he wants and he still hasnt put his gun down? what if he has already shot someone in front of you prior to pointing the gun at you ??

  • If he didn't put his gun down I'd try leaving; it's a much better bet than the chance that I'd disarm him.

If he'd shot someone in front of me then there are some questions: Why didn't I head for cover, or at least get out of his line of fire, while he was occupied killing the other guy; if neither of those were practical why didn't I attack while he was doing it?

If someone points a gun at you; the fights over. Before that is the time to do things; after that, chances are its too late.

  • well id rather know how to disarm than not know and feel helpless or run and get shot in the back..

of course any good instructor will tell his students never to be a hero, always give the guy what he wants. unless its ur life that is. seems like u live in a nice place eightdragons.... thats good but some people have death shootings a bit more frequent.

  • From this? You don't know how to disarm. It looks ok because it's fast and done to music. Turn the music off, play it back at half speed; look at what's missing. Look at the empty spaces where the other guy can step back and reset his attack without being relived of his weapon, look at the movements that don't properly take the other person's balance, look at the number of times a weapon is actually dragged *towards* a target. It looks nice but when you sit down and take it apart it's a mess.

  • is his real name maul? i have seen a lot of his stuff and he seems really good and i've heard he's a leading expert in blades, but i can't seem to find anything about him other than on their actual blog site...

  • Very good, thank you for sharing!

  • another question.. what is that song?

  • good question

  • That guy offers no resisitance and doesnt even try to move his hands away.

He just offers the knife and has it taken away.

  • It's a demonstration.

  • and human reaction is 0.3 sec that takes 2 that makes 1.7 seconds of a "counter attack" unless ur trained to u dont stad a chance

  • Wow

  • Master Maul go to MALAYSIA.......

  • yeke abgmizan,when he comes?what for?promote or what?

  • go n fuck yourself... maul the best

  • If all attackers were so slow, anyone could counter-attack them. Why do people do demonstrations to show off their 'practical' skills when they're too scared to do the demonstration at real speed?

  • Watching your favourites, you dont have a problem watching perverted videos in slow motion?

  • Very Cool:)

  • these are sensibly formulated counter-offensive drills. any traditional martial artist will find them effective and outstanding. many civilian/gov't/para-military operators go thru harm's way armed with these and other combat systems. use those which allow applicability at that specific moment. maraming salamat kay guru maul. mabuhay ka at ang silat sufian beladiri!!!

  • thats sick defense but u do realize if somebody has a gun to you like that as soon as u move ur hand they will pull the triger like there is no tommorow and there probably wont be for you

  • i take that back my friend Fastflame304 explained it to me

  • Azean Irdawati's daughter, Elza Azean in her first leading role, is a modern day warrior searching for the men who raped her friend, in up coming TV movie WIRASISWI

Produced by LONDON FILMMAKERS STUDIO, the cast had training of an international standard, making the performances superior to most Malaysian films

The script is by Ike Ong (DIRECOR'S GUILD OF GREAT BRITAIN) who made programs for the BBC

NOTHING in Malaysian TV comes close. Watch the trailer at my accounts' My Videos section

  • Even firearm instructors know within 21 feet, a man can still stab you after you've shot him, and firearm grouping is the body. It's been seen with even shotguns and .45 ACP that a man can still cut you. It's taught that EVEN IF YOU GET SHOT OR KNIFED, YOU KEEP KNIFING/PULLING THE TRIGGER. It's not about if he pulled the trigger, it's about keeping him from pulling it or pulling it again and again or vice-versa with a blade.

  • he is a very accomplished martial artist, but the only problem I have with this demonstraion is when he uses the gun as a srtiking weapon. if someone is coming at you with a knife and you have a gun, Shoot the mofo! lol

  • Weapon can be jammed, empty, secured or he may be so close that the shooting is not an option. There can be also other factors not allowing you to use gun as shooting weapon.

  • How can you be too close? Guns work better at close range. Hell at arms length your guaranteed to be able to empty an entire clip into somebody!

  • For example when he attacks from side and you spot him so late that he is already charged, or when you are drawing a gun and he has already a knife in his hand.

  • Why cant we all just learn to get along?

  • this song name - "bebel" sang by 'bandi amuk', great malaysian metal rock singer.

  • whats is the name of the song???

  • who r u?

  • Very good techniques shown. But just remember that in a real fighting situation, everything need to be fast, I mean really really fast... bcos our attacker will keep on moving agressively during the struggle.. Well done. Tahniah & Syabas from Gmie Brunei.

  • Very good techniques shown. But just remember that in a real fighting situation, everything need to be fast, I mean really really fast... & our attacker is will keep on moving agressively during the struggle.. Well done. Tahniah & Syabas from Gmie Brunei.

  • this is ok, but stabs actually arent good to do, it leaves you still too long, and pulls you in closer to your target, a quick cut leaves a more open wound and is mich mich faster, and the traget should not stand still in practice....

  • i love how he always goes for the nuts!

  • Than you probably gonna love Krav Maga. :D

  • Silat is one of the best self defense system in the world for street fighting!

HURRY! One seminar has already been fully booked. Only a few spaces left for the second seminar!

  • wow Silat has to be like the best martial art that can show style and grace but still be effective.

  • He doesnt have to resist fully, that would just be a fight. But he should stay in motion. people dont stand still once you start defending.

  • Look here is my gun grab it... LOL

  • i lyk the music .. wad is the title ??

  • that's some nice knife work,

  • I'm questioning how can one swift move of uni-directional attack be responded by two multi-directional moves of blocking and then countering. It's impossible. Time and attacker does not stand still. Reminds me of Mifune quick draw duels. Blocking, countering and sidestepping must be one movement to be really effective.

  • Join us for Guru Mornie's first seminar in the U.S.!

Visit the Silat Suffian Bela Diri website and click on the Florida,USA link under "Seminars/Events" to register and for more information.

  • For all the people commenting that because the fella with the 'tache isn't resisting it makes the moves crap...If they were both doing it full tilt he'd get seriously injured - so you remove the resistence and focus on the speed / technique. Clearly the people commenting that you should do it to the contrary (even in a demo video) have not undertaken a significant amount of training in a martial art.

  • Very fluid, those are years of practice

  • do you know that silat brunei also known Gerak 41

  • i like the music. who is this?

  • these techniques are VERY close to ones taught to the Israeli special forces in their Krav Maga training, and anyone who says Krav Maga voids all rights to call themselves intelligent and should leave the argument right now. these moves are based on leverage, so it doesn't matter if the other guy is resisting because most of the time you'd break his hand.

  • Krav Maga and Pencak Silat are both based on the same principle: Getting out of danger and inflicting the most amount of pain and or damage with the least amount of effort.

I believe that is the reason PS and KM look so much alike.

A friend of mine does Krav Maga and i do Pencak Silat and we are still wondering who would win if we were to fight to the death (which we won't cause drinking beers is much more fun:P)

  • That's awesome dude xD I'm seriously thinking of complimenting my Krav Maga training with Silat training... but your personal opinion, do you think that taking both would be superficial/ redundant?

  • Not at all. As i said, there are many things simalar within the two martial arts but there are also a lot more things different!

The biggest difference in my opinion is that krav maga is way more aggressive.

  • awesome 5 star even though i thought the music was a bit odd :).
