  • The concept is Dutch, but the Dutch have no armament industry.

  • Wheres the sound.

  • Ho man i want one.

  • Beautiful to watch.

  • The gun is not dutch, it's a Gau 8 avenger. The same used in the US A10 warthog. Get your facts straight.

  • @Tclans Goalkeeper CIWS Gun System is a dutch system but parts are coming from all countrys including U.S.A(30mm gun)

Phalanx 20 mm CIWS is a U.S System and also 100% U.S manufactured.

  • @MrWillem1969 Though you are right on the system being dutch the gun is still U.S. I endorse understanding what is written and then commenting on it. Thank you.

  • @Tclans no its Dutch now ,they bought the component's and implemented in the goalkeeper project

of coarse with the courtesy of uncle SAM

but if u buy a Mercedes and the rubber from the tires are from the states ,does not make the car made in the USA,nevertheless they do have some good shit over there

  • @feboburger It's really annoying having to repeat myself.

Let me explain one last time. There are some comments here stating that the gun is Dutch. In fact it is NOT. It's the same gun used on the A-10 Thunderbolt II, made by General Electric. Therefore the gun is U.S. made.

The system in contrast to the gun is indeed Dutch made by Thales.

  • @Tclans your right ,i apologize

  • it's dutch bitches!!

  • can i use this to stop cats from pooing on my garden?

  • @chrismechanic2000 Thats why i want one,bloody cats.

  • awesome!

  • dutch gun NICEEE!!

  • The sequence starting at :28....must be some "pucker factor" for the sailors on the boat!!

  • I mounted 1 of these in my Mustang :)

  • Netherlands <3

  • hehe, what would a human be after a 'goalkeeper' care treatment?

    haha, human pulp!

  • lol at 0:06 the radar on top is like. Hey what's that over there.

  • BFG :)

  • This gun's been around for a long time now

  • 0:06 holy shit :O

  • hey birds, how you doing?

  • Mother nature just shit her pants

  • The big brother of Mk15 Phalanx

  • Pirates watch out.

  • why the fuk is it high speed when its slow??

  • @MrCoolguy0000 that's how you get slo-mo. more frames per sec.

  • Isn't this the one that is used on the A10 that takes out tanks? What if they come up with a tank with 2 or more of this weapon?

  • @762459 no, thats the gau8 avenger cannon. which i think is much cooler.

  • @LittleSn0t your wrong here, the Goalkeeper system is designed by the royal dutch navy and uses the GAU 8 30mm canon used on the A10 Thunderbolt.

The US designed their own system based on the vulcan gun this is a lighter caliber only 20mm.

  • Testing should include somalian pirate vessels

  • That is one scary ass gun

  • si es impresionante y me agradan las armas pero no me agrada que hagan sus putas pruebas y que las ondas maten peces

  • damn...that thing is awesome!

  • and it still shot down more shrapnel after the missle had exploded. incredible!

  • wait was this a test? they used live missile on that ship? fucken crazies!

  • @eujeeves The goalkeeper usually ALWAYS hits the missile on the first try, if not it will on the 2nd try...95% hit on first try...99,9% on 2nd try. it gets more accurate per shot.

Have been to a dutch naval base where they repaired these things...awesome...i would let that thing protect me any day.

The great thing about the goalkeeper is that there is only 1 known situation where he hit it the 3rd time :P...he did hit it on try 2, but that didnt destroy it(if im not mistaken ;) )

  • @eujeeves If im not wrong: 1st hit (400m) 2nd hit (200m) 3rd hit (100m or lower) the guy told us you dont wanna be standing on the ship when it gets destroyed the 3rd time :p the blast is enormous (offcourse)

  • @eujeeves Wait it was 95% or higher (didnt know the exact number anymore,...has been a while :P)

  • no audio? did you use that "let the bodies hit the floor" song without permission or something?

  • @BattleFiles Get out you fucking spammer.

  • how many incoming missiles can it successfully defend against before one slips through??? any actual numbers or is that something they would leave classified..??

  • @500205 This is the internet you know........ I looked on Wikipedia, Goal Keeper is a Dutch system, "The 2D I band search radar, which can handle up to 18 targets at once, generates a threat picture which the gun system uses to identify and prioritise threats. The system has identify friend or foe (IFF) functionality to rule out friendly traces.[1]" There is much more info on there, this is an old system, although still in operation.

  • No Audio ''/

  • it shot automaticaly?

  • @HEADPLATZER

    of course

  • mute videos..so unique

  • That should keep the neighbors dog off my lawn.

  • when skynet breaks down and the machine's rise up, I dont want to be near this gun lol

  • made in holland

  • No sound? Sucks.....

  • Maintaining that monster must be insane.

  • “War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses." -- Major General Smedley Darlington Butler (1881-1940) Major General USMC, "Old Gimlet Eye'' and "Hell Devil Darling", most highly decorated military man from the pre-World War II era. • I do need a new rabbit hunting weapon...

  • That's what I call gun control.

  • Man, that gat would be hell on squirrels...

  • If it ain't Dutch, it ain't much.

  • that shit will seriously fuck up your day

  • Pirates ? Nope

  • Is goal keeper the British version of the phalanx? That thing is a beast! I would love to see it engage surface targets.

  • @Pooshooter5k Not British! It's Dutch.

  • @joh8989 Oh cool. That thing is crazy!

  • Just about any CIWS weapon system is impressive.

I personally have seen the Phalanx shoot 5 inch projectiles for target practice =D

  • I want one for my front yard.

  • yep

  • was that an incomming missile?

  • MY CAR HAS ONE

  • I stood 40ft from one of these firing on HMS Invincible. Nearly had an involuntary bowel movement. Sound on the video wouldn't do it justice.

  • wow, second round hit the target!

  • no audio? boo.

  • could of done with this down the Falklands

  • That's a damn good silencer.

  • Die ocean. DDDDIIIIIEEE!!!

  • no sound? Huge thumbs down

  • It swings like my dick when a hot girl walks by.

  • SANDVICH MAKE ME HAPPY!

  • how many rpm ??

  • @DJRedro

It's a GAU-8 machine gun set up so it's max operating RPM is 4200 which divides out to be 70 rounds per second of 30mm shells 173mm long.

  • Aww sweet =D (5years to late I know but who cares)

  • I prefer Kashtan-M, i think it's better than Goalkeeper/Phalanx

  • I WISH I KNEW ITS ENGINEERING.....

  • royal navy ftw

  • CIWS Gun System was developed by the one and only...CHUCK NORRIS!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @empiressecretsof What's Franch?

  • @empiressecretsof Its Dutch dude, check the flag, Dutch Navy was first to introduce this

  • @empiressecretsof What the fuck is "Franch"? Franch dressing, Franch fries! How about FRENCH moron!

  • @empiressecretsof No, dutchs made this

  • @Viperzep It's US American design. Dutch only buy it.

  • @Viperzep

    gee, what a persuasive argument.

  • @realisticsocialist this is a development of both the US and the netherlands

  • @Viperzep

    "slowly claps"

    touche' my good sir, touche'

  • @empiressecretsof it must suck.

  • Comment removed

  • machines simarlar to this were first developed in the 50's (although possibly 40's as secret act etc

  • if u ain't dutch u ain't much

  • Thing is, while europeans were fighting alot, hand in hand with it came progression and inventions aswell

  • @spiritronin

Thats how most nations work, they fight a lot and develop off that. The United States grew dramatically even thought they've been fighting wars for the past 200 years. Mostly outside of it's nation, someone said one time if the United States fought a war on home turf there would a large set back in our economy because of how open we are.

  • lol they look like daleks

  • did anyone see it destroying a torpedo 0:31

  • Hell yeah. anti missile machine gun lol

  • Ahh the days. I remember working with the FC (I was a GMG) working on ol' R2D2 on board the USS Stump DD-978.

  • BATTLEFIELD 2!!!

  • use it in somali pirates those skinny black cunts!!!

  • this is fuck yeah !

  • shows you just how advanced and accurate the radar system is on this thing when in the slo-mo shot it only takes 2 bullets to down a missile.

  • fuck that gun. i need an abomb.

  • Great for wacking sea niggers, pirate niggers, or sand niggers.

  • Damn technology you scary!!!!! (I hate that "Damn nature you scary" comment so I thought........)

  • This is the model with the silencer. :)

  • @fastacker2 That silencer would become a projectile.

  • ..... not firing fast enough

  • santa, can i at least have a 35mm autocannon with du ammo if i cant have this weapon system(including 2 hrs of continuous fire worth of du ammo)

  • @ZoruaZorroark Why depleted uranium ammo? you know its still radio active? The navy stopped using it outside a war zone because it was giving the crew men testicle cancer ! they were carrying the heavy cans of ammo at hip level !

  • Santas goin broke

  • Holy shit!!

  • Mummy I want one of those from santa

  • "NEEEEWWWWWWW WEAPON!!!!"

  • @S0up3rD0up3r Haha a tf2 fan xP

  • @S0up3rD0up3r Yes it is a new weapon, except you told us all 5 years too late.....

  • wHoooZaaaaa!! That poor seagull during the live targeting sequence slow mo-bit, got too close and the blast pressure dropped it.. @ :35 secs in the upper left side of screen. lat'r Buzz

  • Where is fucking sound !!?

  • I got the sound , WOW!!! It just sounds like a BUZZZZZZ, 40 rounds a second, 2400 RPM!!! Love the clinking empty casings! Awesome Gun!!!! :D

  • ghkulul

  • I have one of these out the back of my Tahoe. For some reason I have no problem with tailgaters. Weird....

  • 222 people disliked this video because they................DIDNT LIKE IT geez...

  • i'll take two

  • The GAU-8 is one hell of a gun, makes you wonder why they didnt use it for the phalanx..

  • fucking hell santa no joke give me that!

  • But the question is...

    WILL IT BLEND?

  • That shit will fuck up your life.

  • Greetings from Holland, may we forever build such great weapons

  • @redpaw550 Greetings from the USA and Amen!

  • Whoa, it´s unbelievable quit! Thats what i call a silent kill!

  • 220 people got on the wrong end of that gun

  • What, no sound!

  • the only gun with a ship attachment

  • @slingshotcarter

No, I think that'd be the Mark 7

  • You would think a gatling cannon lobbing 30mm shells at an incoming missile at 300 knots would spray the missile until one landed a hit. But no, goalkeeper takes inasnity to a whole new level by missing one shot and landing the next...

    0:37

  • ak-630 is better

and duet turret pffff the best

  • I read several comments that this is an American system. However, only the gun ( GAU-8) is made in the USA. All other components, like the radar, are Dutch.

The fact that the the American M1A1 and M1A2 main battle tanks uses a German designed gun doesn't make it a German tank, right?

  • first

  • yikes

  • it fires 20mm not 30

  • @eggtotheroll You're wrong, it's a Dutch made CIWS which fires 30mm rounds. You're probably confused with the US Phalanx.

  • 0:06 pulls out the .... OMG

  • they should mount this in new york for pigeons

  • @unsloppyjoe hahah totally

  • I wish I had one of these on my roof to take care of them pesky mormons....

  • looks like R2D2 with a boner

  • chido

  • i love the way its second round hit the missle. Its a 4200rpm sniper rifle :)

  • @Binkophile Exactly. The other 500 rounds following behind are just for good measure :)

  • no audio

  • Exactly what i need for my front door...

  • "trys to hit a mosue w/ a baseball bat" awwww fuck the bat "gets one of these babys" come out come out u mother fuking mouse

  • its dutch ^^

  • Can I rent one for the weekend? I've got this squirrel problem around my house...

  • Can I rent one for the weekend? I've got this squirrel problem around my house...

  • and im fucking tired of these dear Santa comments fucking fags its old as shit.

  • @ Dear faggot2daER

  • this gun will fuck you up bad!

  • So this is what the gov't is wasting our military money on? There cutting every budget that matters, but they make sure to leave enough money to arm a boat with enough fire power to float around and do nothing 90 percent of the time. I mean come on... Im not one to complain normally but why do we waste so much money on inventing new guns that cost 1mill+ dollars to reproduce?

  • @megamixa But,that other 10% makes it all worth while..

  • @megamixa Uhhh.....the 'Goalkeeper' CIWS is a weapon from the NETHERLANDS. Know before opening your internet mouth

  • @TheDoxy

It's also made from a GAU-8 Avenger Gatling Gun, which is an American-produced and developed weapon. However, the programming and radars are Dutch.

As a complete package, the Goalkeeper is Dutch (as the system is part of the weapon).

  • @TheDoxy

Well first, it's Know before you crack your internet knuckles, GET THAT SHIT RIGHT BOY! And secondly, America bases it's weapons off idea's that other countries have, thats why we work with other companies over seas to develope... well... anything. Also I was talking about war machines in general not this one in specific. So back to you, knuckle cracker.
