And talking of which...I was talking to a friend of mine recently about the Steve Wright era of these impressions, and how Bill Wyman would record them from the radio. My friend replied: "That's right - he'd play them in the van". THE VAN!!! When was the last time (excuse the pun) The Stones travelled in a van?!!
'Yeah well that's Keith's fault... innit see, cos I have to go off to the wholesalers, and I leave him to open up' 'Yeah and I open up in G' (and that laugh he does after) for some reason, made me piss myself. True comedic writing geniuses :)
It's brilliant. Phil Cornwell's been doing Mick for years - used to do it on Steve Wright's show in the eighties. A pair of extremely talented men. Why don't we see more of them and less of Michael bloody Macyntre.
@al323f I was thinking of back in the 80s when he used to have a lot more 'characters' on the show than he does now - Mick and Keef were regular visitors along with Mr Angry, Dr Fishfilleter etc. I don't listen to him much these days although I would if he brought the characters back
flybreath - It's two guys. John Sessions plays Keith and Phil Cornell plays Mick, but yes its mainly the two actors who play all the parts. I just adore John Sessions as Dirk Bogarde, I just kill myself laughing - its so funny.
A great showcase for all of all of Phil Cornwall's talents; he does Mick Jagger and Michael Caine.
