How come when this controversy came up everyone went and searched up the Uefa rules and found the actual page of the rule book that would allow this goal.
HOWEVER. when Grosso is fouled by Neil. nobody got on their computers and searched up the fifa rule books, to show that neil obstructed grosso in his path to goal (which by the way, it is in the rule book).
Sad how people are so hateful to Italy. childish in some ways. but stilll sad.
The goal was legit. Panucci was not ruled out. A player cannot rule himself out. Thats the refs job to rule him out regardless of teh state of the player or where he is at. Sorry Italy... you lose
fuck italy they are dumpass mother fuckers they always blame the referee because they suck they dont deserve the world championship france kicked their ass in 2006 zidan makes them cry with that penalty kick to all italian people kiss my ass :)
So you suggest that whenever a defender "falls" of the field of play he should be considered for the offside rule? Well, then all these "professional" wusses who play football will then "simulate" being injured and off the pitch making the attackers offside.
UEFA says that this is not offside. And they have the authority. What you, I or anybody else thinks is irrelevant.
Listen Panucci fell off the pitch legitimately injured. If he was in fact "in play" then the referee should have stopped the play for the injured player. He didn't. Guess why. Because Panucci was already outside of the field and out of play. Therefore Holland was in an offside position.
Americans should stick to sports they know something about. There's no discussion in Euorpe about that goal because the rule says a player can't just step out of the game, even the Italian commentator said it. In fact, while the Dutch had a discussion about it after the game and were puzzled about it, the Italian commentator never even mentioned offside.
I don't see why they argue about the offside. And even if the goal didn't counted, it would still leave Italy with two goals down against the Netherlands.
it was not a goal yes.
But one question i wanna ask.
