Why hasn't Calgary retired #2 for Al MacInnis yet? I mean, the the guy was Conn Smythe Trophy Winner in the '89 Playoffs. Not only that, but he was also the franchise's leading scorer before Jarome Iginla came along!
@TheTTBT Plus, Suter (Calder Trophy winner), Roberts (Masterson Trophy winner), Ramage (positive 440 career +/- rating) were AllStars, Hrdina (won 2 Cups with Pens), Loob (85 points in regular season, 17 playoff points), Otto (19 playoff points), and HoFer Nieuwendyk (also winner of Clancy, Calder, Conn Smyth Trophies). 1989 Flames were a MACHINE, although Vancouver did push them to 7 games (Lanny was unavailable for most of series, McLean stood on his head to steal Game 1 in OT ).
I'm from Vancouver and I just shit my pants everytime I see MacInnis take a shot from the point against the Canucks..praying that he doesn't score...especially on a power play...
he doesnt/didnt just call leafs and sens games...he calls hockeynight in canada games...he took over from Bill Hewitt for national leafs broadcasts and shared playoff duties (which this game was) for years with danny gallivan (and later dick irvin when Gallivan retired), and dan kelly...not sure if hes still on..as i lived in europe for 15 years now...it was gallivan/irvin & Hewitt MCFarland for years then Cole/Neale....youre obviously too young to have known any of this

can you post the goal that Brian Bradley scored in this game?

This goal by MacInnis started his 17-game scoring streak.
Every game from here on out in Calgary's 1989 Cup run, he had a point.
That goal started the streak.
