saw the "real"big country 11 times , saw the alarm 5 . saw the "new big country 2 days ago . an abomination !!!! please god make it stop!. peters poor mans bono performance was toe curling. stu adamson was a hero of mine, this is just appalling . never again . sorry.
just watched an interview with Mike about his role in BC- he was great friends with Stuart going back to the early 80's and toured with them and sometimes stood in for Stuart if he was low- he is perfect in the role-his love for music and Stuart were very obvious in the interview
hey these guys are doing good without stuart-- very cool that bruce's son is playing guitar up there, bruce also showing he is a more capable musician than many give him credit for...obviously never the same without stuart, but it seems the only big country tribute band around is ....big country.... i guess this music is too powerful to stop
I'm so thankful Big Country has continued on after the tragic loss of Stuart. Mike you are a legend and I think Stuart would be proud of you. Great vocals and great showmanship.
i love BC, and while it will NEVER be the same without Stuart, i think Mike is doing a good job. it definitely seems more like a real "tribute", rather than that abortion of a "Queen reunion" with that guy from Bad Company (which just seemed like another way to make a few bucks...hell, only two of the original members of Queen took part in it!) the fact that Bruce, Mark and Tony are on board with this is heartening.
still, as much as Mike fits in, it'll never be the same without Stuart.
Not the same - as it couldn't/shouldn't be. If you’re a BC fan you know you’ll never hear that sound again live. It's different, but it's still great. (The new guy - hahaha - yea, some people recognize him!) No one will ever be Stuart, and Mike's not trying to be. I have no doubt Stuart watched from above and loved it as Big Country's music is still being appreciated in 2011.
A great band obviously doing what they love to do. Please bring it back to the states for us to enjoy live again. Thank you and keep making great music.
@vvline Tell me about it, I just tend to go into a daydream looking at this, picturing if Stu was still up there :( Im must say though still loving hearing those guitars again :)
@dondi2261 This "new guy" happens to be Mike Peters of the Alarm and is a perfect fit for the band. Listen to the new song Another Country. Mike's songwriting, passion and love for music embodies the spirit of the band.
Brilliant. A definate must get album when its released. Cudos to Mike Peters for what he's done in trying to fill some very big shoes. I think he understands Stuarts legacy and has tried to keep true to that while still putting his own style to the songs. Well done. Stay Alive guys!!!!!!
Can't wait for the new Album. For some mad moment I was going to give the Lincoln gigg a miss, but I think I've just come to my senses, Hope to see you all there. Stay Alive x

BIG COUNTRY, with this new guy, they sound like a bad tribute band... sad. BIG COUNTRY so much better than that...

@dondi2261 If they could draft in a more capable guitarist and let Bruce stick to rhythms for the most part.

I love this song but to be quite honest they should have let the band die after Stuart Adamson hung himself in his Hawaii hotel room back in 2001.
This new bloke sounds totally shite.
