Kangaroo eating would be sustainable if carried out by a human population the size of pre-European Australia's. At the moment it is unrealistic because it is trying to service the requirements of 21.5 million Australians plus exports to China and other populous countries. In the for profit system this spells doom for a free range animal, which is also being squeezed out of its habitat by developers and growth-mad governments. Aborigines would have developed immunity to roo-parasites over time
A blatant & unconvincing piece of propaganda. The native meat debate is a highly emotive onefilled with irrational posturing.Aboriginal people have been eating kangaroo for thousands of years. Kangaroos r appropriate to the land, sustainable, & nutritious. This interview is obviously designed to turn people off eating roo meat. I KNOW a roo shooterthere r regulations & hygiene procedures-same as any other meat. Try reading Archer & Beale's 'Going Native: Living in the Australian Environment'
I love kangaroo meat. I do agree that they need to be processed under proper standards. I don't know how else you would go about killing them. Cattle and sheep are much more compliant when going to the Ab's. Maybe they should farm them rather than taking the ones from nature. Interesting vid, very thoughtful.
am looking for contact to someone, who works in kangaroo industry. Write me a message, pls, if you know.
