i always wondered, where did the super star destroyer and the other ships come from, they make it look like they either slipspaced straight in front of the fleet or the emperor ordered them in system, better yet when they go towards the super star destroyer, they somehow must retreat to the deathstar if the super star destroyer cradhed into the death star

at first there is just 2 mon calamari cruisers, by time the first is destroyed, they start showing more of them than was shown at the beginning of this scene, lets guess, this was a fraction of the rebellion

Look at Death Star @ :54 and it looks like 3/4 built. Then look at it @ 1:14 and that bitch isn't even half complete, with the other side all wide open. Either way, when the shield was down and they commenced attack on Death Star, why the fuck did they go through a tight shaft to get to the power core when they could have just flown in through the gaping hole on the other side???

@MauserK43 You have hit the nail on the head!! I agree totally!! This is the best battle scene out of all 6 films as you can actually see what is happening without pausing. The battle of Hoth is a close second, with them legendary At At's, but that scene is a bit dated. This scene from r.o.j has stood the test of time and I think it is faultless. You can see every bit of action. New films have great effects, but there is too much too take in on screen and it happens too fast. Glad im not alone!!

I just Fu**ing love the bit when the tie interceptor hits the wall, bounces, and then explodes, and then the last tie fighter gets burned in the fire when Lando bursts out of tunnel. Every time i watch it i want to stand and shout YEAH!! Its awesome. Also The destruction of the Super star destroyer is quality. I could go on and on, the whole thing is great, I still get a lump in my throat when vader dies!!

Seriously, the Fight against the Alliance and the Empire out side of the Death Star is EPIC. So is the fight  with Vader and Luke...honestly, I am not afraid to say it, I fast forward through a lot of the Ewok battle. No wonder Harrison Ford didn't want to do it... If I had to play his part in Return of the Jedi - I would want to be written out too.

The Empire Strikes Back is the Definitive Star Wars Movie, and technically the only good one.
