  • How amazing. Strange to think with us sitting here on our computers in our houses while they literally have nothing. But it seems to them they have everything they need to be happy, they look happier than most people I've met.

  • Kuwait's right! Beautiful:) * Thanks جميل افريقا

  • They are more happiest than civil people becouse body being in good state living in nature conditions don't burden the soul.

  • Comment removed

  • happy people!! Wish all people to be happy like these people!:)

  • Why are these girls don't play basketball? I bet they will be one of the best players in the world need less trainiining than the costly million dollars American man and woman in the USA??? Do u think so?? instead stand there sing and jump meaning less..common educate these girls and do something in the sport..like volleyball kkkk

  • @CharlieDoan ...are u for real? 1st those are men, as it says in the description bar, and for all you know the MEN in this video are probably smarter then you, at least thats my assessment based on the ignorance that is saturating this comment you left...come on educate yourself!

  • @CharlieDoan What is wrong with you!? They are happy with what they do, who they are, and people they are around. Plus they are Males, not Females. Jumping and singing for them means everything to them. They love doing it. They are doing their own sport and money means nothing to them.

  • Michael Jordan learn how to play basketball somewhat here maybe?

  • Springs underneath there feet or what?

  • When I went to Kenya, I stayed with Massai on their land. Such a great experience.

  • I like it ,it was recommended from Tino from Tanzania.

  • maasais are the reason kenya was not affected by the east african slave trade, they raided arab slave caravans.forced arab and swahili slave trders to pay tribute before crossing maasai land.historical fact.

  • Ok, is it just me or could Michael Jordan be a decendant??

  • they would make good badminton/basketball players ;) ahahahahaha this is very interesting :D

  • the warriors line up and jump simultaneously to intimidate the enemy by appearing larger than they are, also it was said with enough warriors the ground would shake.

  • I have visited Kenya and the Maasai people many times in the past. It is indeed true that they drink blood from their livestock, they mix it with milk as a breakfast drink. It is actually quite tasty with a kind of a mix between bovril and ovaltine ^^ Basically it works like a protein shake and is perfectly healthy thing to drink. The significance of the dance is indeed a manhood ritual to signify the most strong and help decide who gets what wife. Also it was used prior to battle in warfare when

  • no freakin' way, they hid a trampoline in the ground and camouflaged it with the dirt! (lol)

either that or they had springs inserted in their legs and feet.

but srsly, thats so awesomely amazing!

  • If they visited Texas in the summer, i bet they would laugh of how we rely on our indoor lifestyle to survive, sitting on a computer chair. Outdoors ftw

  • it looks like they're on a trampoline,,,my black is beautiful

  • I suppose white guys can't get any girls there, cuz they can't jump.

  • They're so tall and beautiful!

  • this is great. if you like it you may like these kids. look up maasai music project. thier on facebook too.

  • damn she jumps high!

  • Wow evolution? anyone? no I thought so.

  • wow, those people are so tall.

  • And this is why Micheal Jordan can sink it from the three point line!

  • I watched this in my history class and couldn't get the song/ chant they are saying out of my head for hours.

    it's very fun and catchy.

  • I loved this video..i really wish I could dance/jump withe the massai. I will put it on my "things to do before I die" list lol

  • thats cool as hell! I hope that mainstream culture hasnt tarnished that ritual

  • jesus came from a tribe like this nazareth is in africa Amos 9:7 Are you not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel ?

  • @john48965 race dont matter if you go to a tribe like this in peace

  • i was wondering from where NBA gets thier players !!! ....... but now i know.... they are from massai ..... lol jk .... but really they are good for basketball

  • I love this this would be usfull training in TRICKING :D <3

  • interesting

  • now you know Michael Jordan is from Masai.

  • Shannon Brown would steal all the chicks. Go Lakers

  • Amazing!

  • There is a reason to dance in this way - strong legs were essential for survival. Beautiful people :-) Se the harmonic movements of the whole body when jumping.

  • awesome jumps, must be energetic to do this?

  • @geriatronix it might be cause of the animal blood they drink, cow's, goats and others because of the lack of clean water. Having the energy of the animals itself.

  • @xinzang

I bet u cant say them words face to face to anyone in this clip ,good for u it's ur dirty tongue and fingers of urs behind the keyboard saying it for U!

  • @xinzang Oh please, stop with your stereotypical/prejudice attitude. I bet your one of those people who think all people living in Africa are the same and have the same culture. I hope you know that theyre are CITIES, yes cities, all over the continent of Africa. Also, most peoples from the continent of Africa havent seen any "exotic" animals.

Learn something before you comment and maybe that will reduce your level of ethnocentrism (look it up)

  • @xinzang They don't drink blood (if so, then it's very rare). I work with a guy from Kenya and we talked about the Maasai people. I understand your comment is very old, thought I'd reply anyway ;-)

  • @Daintytwinkletoes they do drink blood.... well not blood only they usually mix it with milk and sometimes make tea out of the mixture but it is a common thing not rare

  • @cutefifsta Well, we have black pudding, which is basically blood.

  • @xinzang @xinzang They don't drink blood (if so, then it's very rare). I work with a guy from Kenya and we talked about the Maasai people. I understand your comment is very old, thought I'd reply anyway ;-)

  • @Daintytwinkletoes actually the maasai do drink milk with blood....take it from me..am kenyan..most tribes in kenya have a sort of traditional drink..kisii's put lemon and let the milk ferment for afew days, kalenjin tribes put in ash from the bark of a paticular tree they burn and yes,,,the maasai put blood in the milk...fresh blood actually

  • @toxicity254 Wow, interesting to know :-)

  • @geriatronix hahaha...I doubt very much it's the animal blood because of the "dirty" water mate....they're just in better shape than us, simple.

  • @geriatronix .......this is where Rudisha(800m runner) started.......and thats why he can lead a race to finish first without breaking a sweat.........If I were him I will just be doing this(jumping) before I start running

  • @TheSapache - Rudisha should probably try out for the high jump too then.

  • the highest jumper gets the girl???? ! ! ! ! !

  • @GotLove4MyShoes

from what i've read, it is indeed a courting ritual, and the highest jumper gets the first pick out of a group of women. there may be a bit more to it than that....not sure:)

  • @GotLove4MyShoes and the women make the houses with mud, dung and sticks. The men have to protect the village and spot out for attackers.

  • @GotLove4MyShoes they all look like men :|

  • @Nagneto So true... and so sad.

  • Thanx for posting this. I love to see how the the different cultures around the world do things. I love to see the old traditions that are still practiced today. I thank God for modern technology or many of us would not have the opportunity to see these things!

  • these guys shud learn basketball

  • my very beautiful country

  • @madscientistify I agree, Kenya is the best and I love it.

  • @madscientistify yep! this is one of the many things that make me so proud to be Kenyan (",)

  • Jump for Joy !!!

  • yea that makes a lot of sense. white people preventing people in sudan from eating, and as a result african dictators are killing their own people. the poor african boy isn't buying a machine gun, he's being given one by the rich, african dictator who is waging lots and lots of war against his own people. that's the big picture

  • where in kenya was this ?

  • This is awesome.

  • dude at 1:07 got hops..dats like a 45 inch vertical..hahaha..no wonder why black jump so high

  • In southern Kenya...

  • what country is thus?

  • Any way very different than west africa, i am no longer surprise why most of them are tall, imagine small kids jumping like that

  • wow its like theyre on a trampoline

  • AS do all other races

  • Nice video! I wish I could jump that high!

  • hot shit!

  • That's the Best Vertical leap ever!

  • true, white men are the cause of everything that's evil in the world...

  • oh come on im not even whit and i think thats messed up im native american they tried to give us anthrax and rape our people and you cant forget about them ordering you around thats fun

  • @XDawn117 It's too bad for us that our land africa and america is the richest land in natural recources and we have no control over it. That's what makes the diffrence from our people being free.

  • @ilGenio90 I agree as a black american I know the white devil is real.

  • I was born in Switzerland, grew up here and in fact I'm Swiss.

But I study economy and my parents are from India and if I say that white men are the cause of bad things, I say it because I personally saw it (in India) and because I read a lot of stuff about how individuals and firms make their decisions taking advantages of poor countries or people.

What can we do, that's how life works.

    Too sad.

  • I wish to be at least a minute there with these people ... Love Massai ...

  • dats not how u driva stick shift( manual transmission)

  • wow... white men can't jump.

  • OH MA lord nothing but NBA STARS THE MASSAI WOULD BE

  • good footage!

  • This is so cool. I wanna travel over there and do the dance too. What country is that?

  • Massai means Kenya automatically. U got two important tribes there: Massai and Torkana.I think the Brits eradicated Mao Mao already..

  • not it doesent. Theres allot of Masais in Tanzania too.

  • @aktowfik No mate you're completely wrong. The Maasai and the Turkana are just two of the 42 tribes in Kenya. And also, the Mau Mau were not a tribe; they were a group of brave men and women from the Agikuyu tribe mainly who fought against colonialism. I should know... I am a Kenyan! :)

  • "how they find a mate?" pompous prick. They're human. more so than you.

  • lo kurwa ale ich pojebalo ;0

  • I can't get enough of these guys, checked out loadsa vids, there so happy and energetic. This one has the best chanting, really wanna go check em out for real - Awesome!

  • wow!!

  • REAL HIP-HOP!!!!!

  • Strictly speaking, these are not warriors. Maasai men must have passed through the warrior stage (10-15 years after puberty/circumcision) before they can get married, while women are eligible immediately after their puberty rite. Hence, you see a big age difference. You can recognize Maasai warriors by their ochre-colored hair. These effervescent gentlemen, as befits someone who is now a junior-elder, have shaved heads.

  • To be recorgnized as a maasai warrior doesnt have an average in time of years because this depend on when they were circumcised because most othe maasai youths gets the special life circumcision on the age of 18-25yrs old.

  • Thanks, micatz, for the clarifcation. But that raises two questions for me: 1. Even if there is not a precise time limit on how long a person is a warrior, what is the average? Is 10 to 15 years to high or too low? 2. Regardless of the time frame, isn't it still true that the men in the film do not bear the marks of a warrior, e.g., the ochre-colored hair? These are honest questions, trying to learn, not arguments, so I really would appreciate your reply. Thanks.

  • THEY JUMP WELL HIGH!! Like they're on springs!

when my parents went to Kenya they saw this.

  • they had springs under they foot ay??dam how they do dat?

  • I like to say thank you to my brothers and sisters in Tanzania, East Africa and to the human race. Many blessing for your support. *bows*

  • good jump, right for NBA :))

  • Massai dance?? Don't hold your breath!

Where's the rest of the video? All i saw was jumping...just random jumping!

  • you dont see culture when it jumps you in the face....

  • it depends on your definition of dance

  • they should be recruit in nba, atleast they can play better thatn yao ming..

  • Beautiful beyond words! 10*post

The joy of simplicity and brotherhood true riches.
