This is very real! My girlfriend was hospitalized because she went manic to the point of retardation. There she met a a guy who had also bipolar(suspected schitzo) in the hospital. A few days after being released, she brought him home and they were having sex in my bed while I was at home. I told the guy to leave and my gf said "ok", but she went back in the room and continue to have sex..disregarding the consequences of her actions.

I notice a theme here. There are a lot of people who have been terribly hurt by people with bipolar disorder. I'm one of them. But the fact that nasty and unpleasant things happen when people are manic or psychotic does not make it the patient's fault.
Thanks originairhombus. When I am Manic or Depressed it doesn't manifest itself in nasty things being said or done to loved ones. My best friend however can be really nasty (she is Bipolar also) so I know what you mean. Even thought I'm not nasty I get really upset once I am normal again which is really painful.. I withdraw when depressed into books, my thoughts & find it hard to speak! When I'm Manic I run away on trains, busses, planes anything. I get embarrassed because I see myself chatting too much, asking questions, sing and dancing so when I'm Hypomanic I run away before I'm Manic. Not anymore thanks to meds...it's lovely!

I disagree because i am not diagnosed by a doctor,but from knoledge and reading a lot so muchb about mental illness and personal experiance with mood swings and changable thought patterns and energy levels. I noticed that i had some ovbsessive thoughts and also dipression compulsive behavior anger towards others and then i decided to take an anti dipressant'sertraline,this decreased the dopamine levels in my brain stopping the obsessive compulsive thoughts

The information given in the video is correct. When a person with bipolar disorder takes certain medicines for depression, it can trigger uncontrollable episodes hyperactivity, including hypersexuality. I was misdiagnosed, and couldn't sleep for days due to the medicine that I was given.
