I think the reason people hate recolous is because it's easy, unoriginal, dosen't even look like any effort was used and requires no Brain Power. Sure I have done some recolours, but I've deleted them because I got told it was wrong and I realized it was true. It's okay if you draw your FC's as well, but it's best to just draw them. "I'm having fun with this" and "I can't draw" is not an excuse to recolouring. If you recolour because you can't draw, just practice. You'll get there eventually

You do realize that coloring over a trademarked character is copyright infringement and if Sega found out about it, they could pull you off of youtube or even sue you. that's why bludshot isn't around anymore.

Recolors are unoriginal. Take a Sonic X picture, for example. You color over THEIR WORK. At least Make them LOOK good, or, Give credit. OR, if you don't want to give up your character, go on DeviantArt and look up a base. Go ahead, delete my comment, block me. I'm just saying, stop recoloring, PLEASE. Since this is like, 2 years old, I hope you learned your lesson about stealing and start drawing and using bases.
PErsonally I think that the whole recolor war is retarded I'd let any one recolor my pictures as long as they asked and if any Recolorer asks I would be delighted to teach them to make their own pictures but if they don't want to they don't have to.
The only Flame war that starts is because you recolors are the ones who start it. We've proven that recoloring is lazy and stealing others work. I really get mad when you post your stuff as original work. Recolors also don't improve your artistic skills at all. I've traced back in 3rd grade. And yeah, with theft, the person would not have it anymore, but downloading has nothing to do with file its self of taking away from the other, it doesn't do anything but increase. (Pretty sure.) Yes other people creates different then just drawing. Drawing should be good too.
One thing that can probably not be a good idea is that if you said you drew this one part but it wasn't true, something like that.

There are other ways of art, but recoloring is not one of them and should never be considered as such. I'm too busy making an Elder Scrolls based RPG to pay atention to whatever ridiculous arguments you come up with. I'm making the game with my own original characters and location, but using themes and characters from the actual series so everyone can pick up on what's going on very quickly and I have a rough guide to building everything.
However anything I make myself will effectively belong to Bethesda as a part of Tamriel.
Here's me hoping they notice it and put a reference in the next game.
The story, some enemies and the majority of NPCs are my creations, the Races of all PCs and NPCs, the Artifact, a few NPCs and enemies and the setting are owned and copyrighted by Bethesda, they also created them.
What I'm doing is different to a story version of recolouring, I am building on top of the simpler RP I made a while ago.
The one I made before was much simpler and borrowed even more from TES as a result, this one will be more about what I can make myself. Every follow on RP after mine used the biggest change I made, that's why I'm taking a huge leap from the previous one I made. I made a mistake trying to force people to work together before, this time they'll be interacting with eachother wether they're helping out or fighting eachother, alone or in a group.

Just like you don't present your school notes as a novel, you don't present an artstudy as artwork. And everytime any of you post a recolor online, that's what your doing. It's not yours to put up. And that is why people are never going to leave you alone. They're never going to stop complaining. It's wrong and nothing you can say or do can change that.
And then you stop to wonder why people are so angry. People put time and effort into the drawings you take. You are stealing their work and using it as a crutch. In the past, I've said that in and of itself, tracing isn't a bad thing per say. I still stand by that. Tracing is a good way to learn. But they call that artstudy, not artwork. Because by tracing or copying, your studying the picture. You're not working the drawing, your just studying it. (One more)

I think if you aren't going around saying that you drew it then there's no problem. I use recolors for a bass. Just using the out line to start out with. It makes it eseyer to do my own drawings if I can see what I want it to look like, and some times it's just fun to work on coloring if you can test out how others work looks in it's finished piece. So you shouldn't go around telling people to get lost when you don't know the what or why. It's just not right.

Recolors are unoriginal. Take a Sonic X picture, for example. You color over THEIR WORK. At least Make them LOOK good, or, Give credit. OR, if you don't want to give up your character, go on DeviantArt and look up a base. Go ahead, delete my comment, block me. I'm just saying, stop recoloring, PLEASE. Since this is like, 2 years old, I hope you learned your lesson about stealing and start drawing and using bases.

The only Flame war that starts is because you recolors are the ones who start it. We've proven that recoloring is lazy and stealing others work. I really get mad when you post your stuff as original work. Recolors also don't improve your artistic skills at all. I've traced back in 3rd grade. It's a very childish skill and it's even more childish to fight us about it. We're not mad but we are saying stopping this is as simple as grabbing a pencil and paper.

And yeah, with theft, the person would not have it anymore, but downloading has nothing to do with file its self of taking away from the other, it doesn't do anything but increase. (Pretty sure.) Yes other people creates different then just drawing. Drawing should be good too.
One thing that can probably not be a good idea is that if you said you drew this one part but it wasn't true, something like that.

There are other ways of art, but recoloring is not one of them and should never be considered as such. You are taking the creative efforts of another person and decreasing its quality with poorly made edits, trying to gnaw off of the success of another.

I'm too busy making an Elder Scrolls based RPG to pay atention to whatever ridiculous arguments you come up with. I'm making the game with my own original characters and location, but using themes and characters from the actual series so everyone can pick up on what's going on very quickly and I have a rough guide to building everything.
However anything I make myself will effectively belong to Bethesda as a part of Tamriel.

Here's me hoping they notice it and put a reference in the next game.
The story, some enemies and the majority of NPCs are my creations, the Races of all PCs and NPCs, the Artifact, a few NPCs and enemies and the setting are owned and copyrighted by Bethesda, they also created them.
What I'm doing is different to a story version of recolouring, I am building on top of the simpler RP I made a while ago.

The one I made before was much simpler and borrowed even more from TES as a result, this one will be more about what I can make myself. Every follow on RP after mine used the biggest change I made, that's why I'm taking a huge leap from the previous one I made. I made a mistake trying to force people to work together before, this time they'll be interacting with eachother wether they're helping out or fighting eachother, alone or in a group.

In the past, I've said that in and of itself, tracing isn't a bad thing per say. I still stand by that. Tracing is a good way to learn. But they call that artstudy, not artwork. Because by tracing or copying, your studying the picture. You're not working the drawing, your just studying it. (One more)

I think if you aren't going around saying that you drew it then there's no problem. I use recolors for a bass. Just using the out line to start out with. It makes it eseyer to do my own drawings if I can see what I want it to look like, and some times it's just fun to work on coloring if you can test out how others work looks in it's finished piece. So you shouldn't go around telling people to get lost when you don't know the what or why. It's just not right.

Okay we all know that some people don't like recolors, and some people do love too recolor, you're all recolor haters out there are like 3 year olds, now if you bug me, I will block you, so go get a life! This recolor war is getting rediculous! I mean come on, it's not like we're stealing Amy or ideas of Sonic or giving some Sonic character new looks, that's illegal, there's nothing much too do too stop us, we're not giving up yet!
