They do on their regular 777s, but this is an ER, identifiable by the raked wingtips, and the ER only has one engine option - GE90 :)

Yep. This pilot did not leave time in the case of a landing gear lock light warning in the cockpit, he would not have had time to talk to the co pilot and agree standard procedure for an aborted landing or advise ATC!

I fly Emirates quite a lot and the pilots are not all Arabs.

Dubai airport on the other hand, still needs lots of work.

You'd be surprised to know that the majority of pilots, ie. more than 97% of Emirates pilots are actually Americans, Canadians, Australian, British..... The population of Dubai is 80% foreign. The Arabs barely work. They just stay in their mansions.
