It's just a minor arrangement based on a pop melody. I have my doubts as to whether or not anyone in Bach's time would have heard this and immediately lauded it. Vidovic has played this piece on stage so you argument is invalid. When artists like Vidovic play in "stage" their repertoire is tailored to what the coordinator of the concert, festival, or recital feel is their best interest. There are countless renditions of this song here on youtube, search up and shut up.
