You should advertise that custom pipe yoy made for the exhaust, after adding a turbo (like many do with a 6.2) the less restriction makes a big differance in sound not to mention the fue more HP and MPG you gain.
im looking to build a 6.2 like this any advice? I heard some years are better to turbo then others because of injector length? Is that just a 6.5 setup
@novachevyguy Ya dont you know where a carbs placement is on most motors.im not saying diesels have a carb,it says would be.You too stupid to figure ti out from there. The post before this could not see where the charge entered the motor.Sorry I guess you got me.
I fabbed the pressure chamber using a '70 Porsche air cleaner and the bottom of the factory 6.2 air cleaner. I cut them both apart and used the top of porsche cleaner and the bottom of 6.2 cleaner separated by a 1" piece of sheetmetal to get the proper height. To use 1 stud, I took a piece of 1/4" steel and drilled the 2 holes that matched the 6.2 intake and 1 in the center. I welded a 5/16" nut over the hole in the center, and bolted the plate to the intake.
@67C30 sweet! i like the 1 stud idea better. will that porche airfilter housing be able to take all that raw diesel power around it and the whopping 10 psi of boost? lol.
man howd you get such good coverage with your paint?! Did you spray it piece by piece or all at once? Btw hey man it's steelraptor from dieselplace loving the motor so far. =p
@steelraptor I sanded the engine down, and degreased everything several times. I primed all exposed spots with Duplicolor engine and painted it with Duplicolor Detroit Diesel Alpine Green paint. I actually painted it about 2 years ago. I put a light fog coat on first and let it get tacky, and then sprayed on 2 more medium coats. It covers surprizingly well. You can get it at O'Rielly's Auto Parts among others.

k.. i saw that the turbo was on the pass side.. now.. do all 8 feed the turbo? or is it fed only from the right bank of 4
gizmo98550 1 year ago
@gizmo98550 there is a crfossover pipe that is behind engine that connects right bank to left bank
dieselwooody 1 year ago
@gizmo98550 The turbo blows to the top where the carb would be,from there it goes to all cylnders. The pipe going out the back is exhaust.

The motor sounds great! Do you have anymore footage of this truck?
Slackerjr92 1 year ago
Does this have 18:1 pistons?
Hotrodx199 1 year ago
@Hotrodx199 No, it is has stock pistons. I installed a DSG stud girdle, and I'm limiting the boost to about 10 psi.

@67C30 Also do you know if a chevy NP435 from about this era will bolt on to the 6.2? Do i need to get a bellhousing? What kind?
Hotrodx199 1 year ago
Sounds and looks awesome!!! I can't wait to see the truck finished.

where did you get that presure chamber from? and how did you mount it using only one bolt?

@6030diesel
Do a search for 67 C-30 Dually pickup build, and you can see detailed pics of everything.

@67C30 Wow it looks great for 2 years old, that paint must have some very heady duty binders to stick so well. Does it chip or scratch easily?
