I like to say there are 3 Mother/EarthBound characters in this game. Ness, Lucas, and Claus. Think about it, it LOOKS like Claus, and he has the same attacks as Lucas (They are twins for all those who havn't played Mother 3). I say there are 3 characters.
Ness' moves are more technical, and Lucas is a little bit faster with his moves, but using the right moves put's Ness a little bit above Lucas if you know what you're doing with both of them.

That's what I don't get. How is PK Flash slow when it's supposed to be a flash of light? If you play Earthbound and Earthbound 2 (AKA Mother 2 and Mother 3), you'll notice that PK Flash isn't nearly that slow.
That's also true, but if they changed it so it was more like PK Flash in EarthBound (it can either make the enemies miss attacks a lot (cry), use the wrong attacks and/or attack themselves or their ally sometimes (confuse) or kill some of the enemies instantly (faint)), then they could make it faster with the chance of instantly killing your opponent (that would obviously have to be rare).
But still, this isn't a normal fighting game. Being able to make characters go slower with items, using damage meters instead of health bars, the Home-run Contest... You can't really be skeptical over that idea when it comes to this game.
Again, I said that if it was fast, it should be the way it was in EarthBound. I didn't just say "make PK Flash faster". Please make an attempt to read my comments before replying. I can't say that in a nicer way, just try to spend more time reading my comments instead of just replying.

Claus was acting smart so he tried to kill the MechaDrago that killed his my but he died trying to, and then porky's fat ass revived claus and made him a fucking war machine then AT THE END OF THE GAME Claus snaps out of it because he hears his mom talking to him from heaven, so he kills himself because his time past, a long time ago. That's why lucas is Gloomy
i, being a user of lucas, thought that lucas had some pretty good aerials (Fair, Dair spike, Bair spike anyone?) and his Nair can easily K.O. bosses in boss battles.
lucas' attax r faster than ness and can be devastatingly strategized.
in my opinion, i think lucas is better than ness in smbb, ness is just isn't the type of character i played as, i was once way bad with ness, but then lucas just kicks more ass =D
as a user of ness since SSB i say ness has alot of potential for never ending combos O.O, you just have to know what moves to use to keep them in the air.
Overall:Lucas is faster with some of his attacks being stronger than ness's. he is a defending character who dies easier than ness. Lucas has a greater chance of killing his opponent b/c of his more powerful up/down smashes. Ness is a stronger character with a great ability to put together powerful combos against his opponent. Ness is someone who racks up damage fast, but sometimes has trouble killing his opponent. Neither of these characters are better, it just depends on how you use them.

Like I stated in a previous NESS V. LUCAS vid. Ness is soo much better. Lucas has no great combos in fact none. lol. PLus the Ness player sucked some major ChestNUTS. Get a better player and watch a real match.
lucas has strong physical attacks and is a good character personally i think some are to strong (A up for example) to strong and easy to kill the other guy though he has his good sides lik pk thunder lasts longer and can hit more then once and his stick(not a bat lik ness) can reflect and i find easier to use

Ness is also a great character and has great pk attacks lik fire lasts longer
Lucas => ultimate item (use him lik an item hitting myself)
His pk thunder and ness' pk thunder last the same time...3 seconds and ness' bat can also reflect...lucas is newbie friendly, whereas ness is not since he takes more strategy and knowledge to use.

The thing about lucas is that he's just too easy a target. He's a little slower than ness and easier to catch off guard, his arierl attacks are harder to control and he sucks at doing combos. Basically I prefer ness(just my opinion).
Its too bad Lucas' aerial game is completely inferior to Ness's. Lucas has better tilts and ground game but Ness is king in the air and thats what makes him better than Lucas, in my opinion.

Not the same comparison. Marth and Roy had technically the exact same attacks, and different properties in each attack. Lucas and Ness have way different attacks, they're different yet vaguely similar to each other in some ways.
Mostly I figured this out Ness's PK attacks are more Powerful then his Physical Attack But Lucas On Brawl Has weaker PK attacks but has Better Physical Attacks...
Lucas is EASIER (read: easier) to use than Ness but this DOESN'T mean he's a better character. Ness has got a spike, sweetspot, a great recovery game AND, dare I say it a launched PK Thunder is far less situational and has more killing potential than PK Love. Test it out. Just because Lucas has a strong smash and an easily controlled PK Thunder doesn't mean he's better than Ness.

i, being a user of lucas, thought that lucas had some pretty good aerials (Fair, Dair spike, Bair spike anyone?) and his Nair can easily K.O. bosses in boss battles.
lucas' attax r faster than ness and can be devastatingly strategized.

as a user of ness since SSB i say ness has alot of potential for never ending combos O.O, you just have to know what moves to use to keep them in the air.

Overall:Lucas is faster with some of his attacks being stronger than ness's. he is a defending character who dies easier than ness. Lucas has a greater chance of killing his opponent b/c of his more powerful up/down smashes. Ness is a stronger character with a great ability to put together powerful combos against his opponent. Ness is someone who racks up damage fast, but sometimes has trouble killing his opponent. Neither of these characters are better, it just depends on how you use them.

Dair weak? It can rack up 20% damage, I always use it on heavy characters or at low percents.

Like I stated in a previous NESS V. LUCAS vid. Ness is soo much better. Lucas has no great combos in fact none. lol. PLus the Ness player sucked some major ChestNUTS. Get a better player and watch a real match.

lucas has strong physical attacks and is a good character personally i think some are to strong (A up for example) to strong and easy to kill the other guy though he has his good sides lik pk thunder lasts longer and can hit more then once and his stick(not a bat lik ness) can reflect and i find easier to use
I use Lucas
Ness is also a great character and has great pk attacks lik fire lasts longer
Lucas => ultimate item (use him lik an item hitting myself)
Ness => yoyo dude (love the yoyo)

His pk thunder and ness' pk thunder last the same time...3 seconds and ness' bat can also reflect...lucas is newbie friendly, whereas ness is not since he takes more strategy and knowledge to use.

The thing about lucas is that he's just too easy a target. He's a little slower than ness and easier to catch off guard, his arierl attacks are harder to control and he sucks at doing combos. Basically I prefer ness(just my opinion).

Its too bad Lucas' aerial game is completely inferior to Ness's. Lucas has better tilts and ground game but Ness is king in the air and thats what makes him better than Lucas, in my opinion.

I agree. Even though Ness has some slower smashes than Lucas, his air game is much better than Lucas. It kind of reminds me of Jigglypuff's Wall of Pain...a bit.

these 2 and ganondorf are my best characters in brawl.
I think the difference between these two are about the same difference between marth and roy in melee.
Marth being Ness and Lucas being Roy.

Not the same comparison. Marth and Roy had technically the exact same attacks, and different properties in each attack. Lucas and Ness have way different attacks, they're different yet vaguely similar to each other in some ways.

Mostly I figured this out Ness's PK attacks are more Powerful then his Physical Attack But Lucas On Brawl Has weaker PK attacks but has Better Physical Attacks...

Lucas is EASIER (read: easier) to use than Ness but this DOESN'T mean he's a better character. Ness has got a spike, sweetspot, a great recovery game AND, dare I say it a launched PK Thunder is far less situational and has more killing potential than PK Love. Test it out. Just because Lucas has a strong smash and an easily controlled PK Thunder doesn't mean he's better than Ness.
It's just people who think they can use him well. Pisses me off, actually.

How does me not playing Mother 3 tie in with Lucas being a novice friendly character? You say Ness has a "great recovery game," but in comparison with Lucas' third jump, the distance is the same, which ultimately is not far. Don't base your "arguement" which is misspelled, off of the mechanics of another game.

I love both Lucas AND Ness! Though I seem to do a lot better with Ness, and my brother is better with Lucas. We still have yet to battle each other on who is the best though...lol.

Umm actually Claus launched a second PK Thunder attack on Lucas and it was reflected mortally wounding Claus dumbfuck! UM Lucas and ness are really pretty much the same but only a few diffrents lucas does DK frezze and ness does dk thun and ness has a yo-yo which i say is better cause lucas takes to long but are very good evenly match check me out i like making videos!

actually lucas and ness are very different, lucas is a more aerial type fighter, with stronger, but slower attacks. I prefer lucas rather than ness
