@chuckmcberryfilms hey guy, why don't you guys demolith the people who are destroying the world with the njew world order. NOT A TYPO. Don't call me antisemitic, I'm anti Khazar. PERIOD. Hey David de dumbass Rothschild. Get your sorry greeeeedy ass off my continent!
the so called 'founding fathers' were actually dirty traitors who betrayed their motherland to the mortal enemy, france, for their own personal ambition
@xDan92 read your history silly little boy, king george was not a tyrant, the greedy colonists refused to pay tax increases given out by the british parliament without having any representatives from the colonies but wanted the british army to be garrasond in the new world, so basically every man woman and child in great britain at the time was paying to keep the fat cat administrator govornors protected against the spanish, french dutch and native indians. .
The Stars & Stripes was an inspiration of the English Washington family coat of arms center sheild shaped crest which dates back to 12th century Britain and it featured two red stripes and three red stars which you can still see on a number of old relics in England, in honour of the wealthy Washington family line from way back, long before they immigrated to Virginia colony to start the American family line of the Washingtons.
this is what the american flag would be if their was no war and we would be just like australia and new zealand but canada and america wanted nothing to do with britian we even changed our accent on purpose
@ffdztdr Really now. Well if it wasn't for the hard unyeilding inginuity of the brits in the first place, where the hell would we and our countries all be?
Hilarious that some Brits here (I am one too) think that flag is a tribute to the UK, as it was considered high treason to fly that flag in 1775. It maybe naive of me, but I'd like to think that the problem the colonists had was not with England as a place but with a tyrannical syphilis ridden monarch in George III. The colonies were probably always too distant to be effectively governed, and American independence was inevitable. The UK is now just the 51st state of America....
The reign of George III was one of the most successful reigns in British history. The UK is NOT the 51st state of America. And is still one of the greatest nations in the world.
Successful? I suppose. He lost the colonies but kept the Caribbean and its sugar and taxes from sugar flowing. Beat the Frenchies not once but twice. He went mad in the end. No argument that the UK is still one of the major powers in the world, after a long period of decline post empire. The UK fights in most American wars, the economies and cultures are intertwined to such an extent that if its not the 51st state its at least a dependecy. I say it again...I am a UK citizen, and proud of it.
Well you are educated on the matter. Unlike most people nowdays. Thats good. I am an ethnic Brit an proud. 100% British Loyalist. But I don't over do it like some people.
Nah, that would make it too British. The Americans needed something more DISTINCT. The majority white Americans trace their heritage to continental Europe anyways. Keeping the colors (Red,white, blue) were enough. The new stars represents ALL the states and the stripes represent the original 13 colonies. It's perfect.
You are wrong about the continental genetic contribution to 'white' americans. Latest genetic and census studies show that:
'..European Americans are largely descended from colonial American stock supplemented with two big waves of immigration from Europe. Approximately 53 percent of European Americans today are of colonial ancestry, and 47 percent are descended from European immigrants who came to the U.S. since 1790.'
As a British person living in Canada, I'm very honoured to see that this event is carried out every year at Prospect Hill. I know the revolutionary war and declaration of independence had an understandable cause but it's nice to see that there is still some recognition and respect for the British as being the foundational heritage of America. I want to thank you very much for shooting and posting this.
I wish our flag still looked like this. I prefer the stripes and kings colours to the stars and stripes. Just my opinion though

That's a bloody big flag. They should have kept that one, the stars and stripes just looks tacky. At least hawaii still has a proper flag.

They did keep that one. You see it now and it is raised every year and is still even included if not, sometimes seen in presidential inaugurations.
