  • Bearded dragons are so sweet. They're some of my favorite lizards. We have one named "Scratch" at my school. We used to think she was a boy. But when they once took her to the vet, they found out she was a girl.

  • how old is he?

  • Hallo! Are these good pets? Because I really am thinking of getting one, but the set up for them is, quite expensive-but I think its worth it, if they are, of course...

  • hes so cute

  • u r aware of the fact that bearded dragons, as well as every other reptile, are supposed to spend almost all of their life in the desert and/or a terrarium... But appart from that, he's cute:)

  • When he was looking at the window he was like "Damn, I missed my home, I missed my mom".

  • did you get that name from the book 'TheHobbit'. I got my bearded dragons name from that book. His name is Thorin, Smaug, Gregory.

  • @bazoozoo5 Yeah I think so! I grew up LOVING The Hobbit. There is behind the scenes footage of the new Hobbit movie coming out! Look up Peter Jackson (producer) on Facebook and on his page/wall is the video! SO COOL! Gave me chills! I think it's going to be awesome, can't wait!

  • Your bearded baby is so cute; and he's mesmerized by that fly : )

  • yeah mine does that i have a beardie, me and her just lie up on the sofa and she falls asleep on my chest and we both have a nap lol, since then she claws onto my hand when i go to lift her she wont go on anyone else if im there lol

  • @ForgottenTheFallen yeah mine loves to snuggle in for naps at night too! sweet

  • Aww very cute! :]

  • i heard if they catck a breeze they can die is that true

  • whats that noize in the backround

  • all they fucking do is hang out. that's it. i don't consider these animals as proper pets, they just sit there.

  • @jimmyshitbags they dont just sit there though... mine runs around all the time.

  • smaug... what a bad ass name

  • if u take a beardie out in the sun from when its really young and continue into its adulthood it will remain calm in the sun they usually will always be a little more cautious in the sun its not all the space that scares them its the flash or whatever you call it from the sun so they cant see as well like when you look at it directly

  • Heh, I named my own bearded dragon Smaug. You clearly have good taste in literature. :]

Yours is a cutie. And my parents were the same way; really opposed to the thought of having a reptile in the house, but once they got to know him, they absolutely adored him.

  • i have to say this is one of my favorite videos i to have 4 beardies and they are the most perfect personalities i love all of mine cause they all have different sweet adorable attitudes, just wanted to say i love your video......

  • cool beardie check my vids out

  • i have a junior baby named titan i just got him can i take him otside or wil he runaway

  • i have a youngster named titan i just got him can i take him out or will he run away

  • He is one handsome dragon... :)..

  • I have a Beardy named Smaug... props to your pet naming.

  • My Beardie LOVES to look ot the window, i have a lil kitty window perch tht i use for my beardie and she sits on it and looks out the window

  • my beardie is the same way. she let's me pet her and seems to enjoy it, let's me pick her up all the time and is reeeeeeeeally curious about everything.

  • where do u live because its looks real nice outside and nice beardie

  • i love how chill he/she is

  • Hey gr8 beardie and a pic of ur beardie looking out the window is in the latest issue of practical reptile keeping lol

  • @BeardedDragonBOY91

Hey! Sorry I missed this comment when you sent it. Any chance you still have that magazine? I'm sure there's no way I could find it now that it's like a year old! Wish I'd been paying more attention and seen this post earlier!

  • At night try putting them on your chest an cover them with a blanket while watching tv. They will fall asleep and earn your trust and learn your scent. This has work for us with the three we have.

  • lol just got a bearded dragon named rocco and hes not very calm yet just because hes only about 2 months old, but i kept playing with him and hes getting to wear he completrly trusts me!!! like he said the key is to show hem that your not going to hurt them at an early age

  • which is the one for me: bearded dragon giant gecko or a blue tongued skink? and im talking about one i'll be able to hold and not too hard to take care of

  • Bearded Dragons are the way to go then. They let you pick them up and sometimes hand feed them. Easy to take care of just don't keep them on sand.

  • ok thanks, and uuuummm, do they smell bad?

  • not at all, well that's if you keep there enclosure clean.

  • ok thank u!

  • ya, just make sure that you buy all the correct things like a heat lamp, UVB lamp, a heat pad, water bowl, food bowl(they like veggys and crickets), a 40gallon tank(you don't need one for the babys but they will need one for adult size), reptile carpet not sand(it is ok for adults but can cause impaction with the babys), some stuff for them to climb on and a hide. If you meet all the needs your dragons will be very happy.

  • alright

  • whoa thats cool

  • how do u get it to be so calm lol, my friend had one and theres no way u could put it down if u wanted to see him again, any ideas/tips. im getting one soon and i want him to be like that lol

  • It must depend on the dragon because mine has always been calm. He'll just sit there in my hands, so cute!

  • For the most part Dragon's are known for being calm and chill as hell. They'll develope a strong attachement and comfort with their owner and home.

They KEY is getting them when their young though... this may be why your friend's goes crazy.

  • im getting a male and a female (brother and sister) tomorrow, they are about 2 months old, is that age young enuf to get them calm near me? sorry if i dont explain myself well, im not that good in english xD

  • Ya, thats a good age for the long run. Although KEEP IN MIND they will NOT be calm around you for a while.

You have to be patient and take it slow. I suggest going online and looking for some tips.

  • k ty, I already looked a bunch up online and the person I'm buying them from is a friend so she can expain a couple of things to, I'm getting her (terrarium?) cage aswel with lamps etc. so that wont be a problem, i was just wondering about my question above, thnx again for telling :)

  • make them have babies =D

  • we'll see what the future brings xD i got a vid with some first pictures of them on my channel, there you can see em =p

  • if they are brother & sister they wont mate.

  • nice to see a bearded dragon vid. without heavy metal music making them seem evil but this one shows how nice they really are

  • acts just like mine.

  • I have a bearded dragon and I treat her (yes she's a girl) like a treasure. I feed her well, let her roam around so she can get exercise and make sure she's held properly. She can also be good company

  • me too

all beardies are little treasers but not all are treated that way

its good to me someone who respects their lizard = )

  • Did you know, my favorite animal is a bearded dragon! I think i'm getting one for my birthday.

  • Very cool beardie how old is he in this vid?

  • ILOVE IT !!! SO CUTE!! How long does it take for them to fully grow? Mine are so small.

  • my beardie wont eat what do i do hes real skinny has a uvb light a 145 gallon tank and is real skinny what do i do

  • Try putting your beardie in a smaller containment for feeding, or you can try feeding him with a food bowl. And if you are watching your beardie when you feed him this may sometimes stress them out and they will not eat. So try a food dish and leave your beardie alone for a little while. I hope that helps

  • A 145 gal tank is way more space then needed and your beardie might not be able to catch his live food. What I do is put them in one of those large storage containers for them to eat, then put them back into their tank when they're done. This way there are no straggler bugs left in the tank at night and my beardie can eat as much as he wants.

  • ok thinks but hes back to normal now

  • Okay glad to hear it ^_^

  • how did you get him to let you pet his beard :(

every time i take mine outside he gets str8 pissed. you can take him out with no problem but if you put him in the sun he freaks out.

  • lol if i take my beardie outside sometimes shadows or birds flying above scare him. but then i stroke his beard and he is all better

  • ha, yeah sometimes the freak outside in the sun... maybe just all the space and open area. i try to keep mine in my lap so he feels more secure, usually he'll just sit with me and bask in the sun, unless he has to poo, then he runs, hahha

  • @gorp114 bearded dragons freak out outside because there are lots of things in the wild that hunt lizards( mostly birds), and bearded dragons have much better eyesight than us. So it is just there natural instincts to get defensive.

  • @gorp114 You have to let the iguana know you love it. My iguana used to be hateful until I played with her. Trick is dont be scared, all aniamlas can sence fear.

  • mynes hates me.....when i try to take him out of his tank but once he gets out its like hes a new person...i mean dragon ..... and his name is rodriguez but roger for short...

  • 0:14 so cute!! lol he kwl!

  • i might get a bd and im going to name him ceru jakari(CJ)

  • I have a bearded dragon too his name is Fernando did u know that he sticks on your shirt? Amazing

  • I was thinking that when I get a bearded dragon I'd name it Smaug. The hobbit is great. But, naturally I decided upon Godzilla.

  • if u kissed ur bearded dragon and it turned into a prince, would u have sex with him?

  • wtf kinda question is that lmao

  • Aw, reminds me of my Mango. :3

Mango loves his beard stroked, begs to come out and sit on my window sill, and loves to cuddle and sleep on my chest.

Also, strangely enough, he was entranced by Godzilla. o_O

  • cool mines a 5 moh juvinal

  • so cool I really want one but my dads a jerk and said no :(

  • i wanted a lizard all my life... i was like 22 before i was able to just get one myself... i tell you what, i moved home for a few months and my parents love him! my dad has a great time feeding him! he even took him out on his own once! so cute

  • $69:99

  • thanks

  • very cute and icant wait till i get one how much are they

  • usually around 75 to 100 dollars (the most i've seen are 120). i have 29 lizards, 19 of which are beardies. they are awesome begginer lizards. you made a good choice.

  • about 30 for a baby

  • no at petsamrt for a bay is 79.99

  • Just picked up a dragon last night. He is a baby so he is very small about 4" long . I still can't believe how calm he is and how he will sit with us. We named him Dante.

  • lol excatly same as mine

  • I just got my beardie today he really likes his rock lol

  • hes all yeeeeehh im chillin in the blankie foo lol

  • how big do they git? and what size tank would u need?

  • they can grow up to about 18 inches and we got a 4ft x 2ft x 2ft viv.

  • Adults can reach up to around 24 inches !!! Mine is 23 :) I have him in a 100 gallon tank it's awesome ;)

  • Bless the ickle beardie. very cute. realy seems to like you stroking the head :)

  • Can there tails detach?

  • nope :)

  • YES! lol, they can detach but will not re-grow. (how ever they won't detach just from hyou holding the tail, but if you pick it up by the tail it can break it off (just in the same way it would if someone picked you up by your finger, lol.) both of mine had their tails bitten off by their siblings before i bought them, bless 'um. check my channel for vids, they're well cute :)

  • Yeah your beardie are great thanks for sharing

  • beautiful.

  • Wow. S/he is beautiful! were getting 3 today! I cant wait! there only little things still. Were going to try to breed them.

    Again- beautiful!

  • lol did u get the name smaug of the hobbit book?

  • yeah pretty much, I loved that as a kid, the hobbit cartoon movie too... haha

  • lol at 1:25 watching the bug on the window

  • (L)

  • how old

    is this one? reply

  • *sigh* my Bearded Dragon won't eat anything that doesn't move, and if he does, it has to be fresh out of the microwave.

A message to all bearded dragon owners... don't spoil your dragons as babys.

  • i hvae the same problem as FuddmanBunnyKiller... how do u get ur bearded dragon to eat pellet, eps biggerone and little round ones

  • does any one know how to get a bearded dragon to eat food pellets. also can you buy crickets off the internet in bulk?

  • o yeah, lllreptile(dot)com has some

  • i bought in bulk once with mine was eating like a mad man... have to be in a place where weather is always kinda warm tho. you can find it online

  • how do you keep him from running away? I need help. mine wont do that if his life depended on it. help

  • Nice bearded dragon

  • he's very cute!! and good name too

  • my bearded dragon is vicous wen i try to pick him up he bites me

  • should have spent more time with him as a yung'un or if he is young try to spend more time with him.

    or her

I'm spending more time with mine now

  • its only because they are hungry, once fed they are calm and loving(talking from experience).

  • so they dont mind being handled, picked up ect? they dont bite much do they?

  • i have two baby ones 5 months old, never bitten, they are really calm, the big one is calm, but usually in a pissy mood, they only bite if they are hungry or you approach them wrong, just rub between the eyes,if they are hissing, and they become angels.lol.but usually no they dont bite, mostly just fall asleep in your hands.

  • so i supose thier overall mood depends on thier personality. right? overall would you say they make good, calm pets that keep you company?

  • yes, they're really cool, they're like mini dogs.lol. mine are real calm, but you can tell the two little ones apart because one will not stay still if you let them out, the other one usually falls asleep in my hand. :)

  • yeah beardies are wicked pets, very tame lizards. and fun to watch. so long as you make sure their temperature doesn't drop, they'll happily sit with you staring out the window licking stuff every now and again. best pets i've had :)

  • Uromastyx have the same dispositions like beardies. They're easier to take care of, yet more expensive. Many people rarely hear of this lizard as they're hard to come by. Like beardies, they derive from the desert. They're also known to be the closest thing to the dinosaur. A beardie tried to eat me uro. He wasn't happy. XD NEVER put the two within the same enclosure...unless you want to feed your dragon. XD

  • A sniper like you shouldnt be worried by a little bearded dragon mate! ;)

all joking aside, I've had my 6 week old dragon for a week now and he was happy with me picking him up from day one. He even sleeps on my hand/chest for as long as I want him to, he was once on there for 2 hours while I was watching TV.

Definately a great pet, its like they understand you lol.

  • haha funny, sniper1724 is just a screen name a chose about a year ago, guess i didnt see myself in this situation when i chose it, lol. thanks for the help, i love animals and i am looking for a low responsibility pet that would be fun to have. i guess the lizard fits.

  • mine has never even attempted to bite... depends on how you raise them, mine has never had the need i guess

  • smaug! lol the hobbit

  • where can u get uvb lights and how big do u need 1, i have a 40 gallon tank and a 43 gallon tank and i have the covers for the lights. im wondering can i get a uvb light for that? btw wut do i need a uv light for if i have a uvb light?

  • ya when there belley has lines that means that he needs heat or you pissed him off

  • u need a uv and a uvb light

  • are these easier to take care of than green anoles?

  • in the right conditions YES they are

  • im gettin 1 on 3months I CANT WAIT!!

  • im gettin 1 after summer vacation i cant w8 either!!! i got a tank and uvb light already

  • Cute!!! i have 2 beardies, by bloke will sit with meand hang out like yours and sit my shoulder when i walk around. my girl i keep on a harness as she loves exploring.(i live with 2 dogs other wise id let her run)

  • Your bearded dragon is friendly, he reminds me of my cats when u were stroking his beard:)

Also he looks smart looking out of the window, maybe he wants u to take him for a walk, put a lil collar on him and go walkies in the garden.

  • check out my bearded dragon video its really funny

  • OMG!!! Yours is so cute i want one so bad!!! im savin up for 1. the babys are like 50 bucks right?

  • he is so cute when he closed his eyes when you stroked him. im savin up for some reptile think a bearded dragon will be perfect ive been told ther really friendly playfull at times is this true

  • yea they r and mine climbs up my shoulder whe i put him on my shirt

  • well beardys like hanging out but iv eheard somthing about a genaration thing were the 7th genaration of blood line will be the calmest i looked this up as i wanted to know why mine was so calm and likes sitting on me lol

  • awesome how old is he?

  • My bearded dragon is about a foot long.I forgot when i bought him i think it was 5-6 months ago but does anyone know how old he is hes a foot long and was like two weeks old or something like that when i bought him. thanks

  • get a bearded dragon gekos have senitive skin so you cant really handle them and bearded dragons as u can see u can sleep with them and mine has never had an accident in bed

  • my bd had one in my hands lol but shes still a little baby

  • Doesnt yours run away? I have held my beardie everyday and he still wont sit with me, he tries to hide, he hates the bath and he wont hang out with me! Is it just my beardie's personality?

  • not really to tame a beardie choose the reward system what does your beardie like message me with all that stuff i tamed mine already

  • That depends on how much money you're willing to spend to give the animal what it needs.

Bearded dragons are much more expensive to house properly than just about any gecko.

Do a lot of research before you decide anything. They're both really awesome, but you should make sure you can give it what it needs without taking any short-cuts.

  • i got both 2 leopard geckos and a bearded dragon

  • im getting a beardie cuz my leopard gecko is pregnat and i know a guy that will give my a beradie for like 2 or 3 geckos i cant wait till i get one though but if the eggs don't hatch i will save up and by one cuz i want one bad

  • Bearded dragon. Beardies are soo much better.

  • lol, when i pet my beardies head she closes her eyes too lol

  • your dragon is awesome.. i hope mine grows up to be like yours!

  • ive got a bosc monitor, but id love a bearded dragon (:

  • best lizards in the world right there i love mine

  • best lizards in the world right there i love mine

  • I like hanging out sometimes with my beardie too sometimes :)

    Cool vid

  • This is so cool I'm getting one in a few weeks and I can't wait. I like the name too :-)

  • Hey, how old is your bearded dragon...is it full grown?
