@serfudge Doubt it. Byakuya is a dangerous combatant even without Senbonzakura. Even so, his sword has a genuine loyalty towards its master. Loyalty which is returned, unlike the case of Muramasa and Kouga. While he may have tried to bond with it at one point, he abandoned his Zanpakto and tried to be greater on his own.

We havent seen enough of kouga to know how he would fair against aizen, but we know he brought ss to their knees too. All they could do was seal him, much like aizen. What makes everyone think that kouga could not control aizen's zanpanktou just like everyone else's. I never said who would win, just said the fight would be interesting.

I must say that this is an excellent fight in that it largely subverts the standard Bleach fight style of: Talk, talk, sword attack, talk, talk, talk, talk, and more talk - followed by sword release - which is followed by another attack and then, even more talking.

@renedrageht Actually, if you pay atention to the begining it IS infact a seperate being. A hollow manifestation of Ichigo's more combative personality quirks. It is in no way Zangetsu.

@Zurezule In one of the episodes Hollow Ichigo (I'm just gonna call him Shirosaki) says that he is part of Zangetsu and that which part of Zangetsu he sees depends on the powers used, e.g. The more he uses his Hollow powers and Getsuga Tenshou, the stronger Shirosaki gets and he becomes Zangetsu, whereas if Ichigo uses his Shinigami powers, e.g. Kido, Bakudo, Shikai, Bankai, ect. Zangetsu stays the dominant personality.

Besides which, didn't you see him fight Hollow Tensa Zangetsu? That was the form he had to fight because that was Zangetsu "Whole".

@fscanfcp this arc is filler along with the bount arc and the new captain arc. If ichigo lost zangestsu's support during the fight against arrancars then ichigo wouldnt be able to use bankai. I think they want the manga to be ahead of the anime, since the manga is what came first. Reading the manga makes you want to see it in anime. Would you have read the Harry Potter books if the movies were out first? I read manga, and, if i want to, i watch the anime version later.

He's a master at several aspects, including swordplay and kido, as well as the mastery of his bankai...which I believe extends past just harnessing the power, but also gaining the respect and admiration of the sword itself...Kyoraku forever
