The new techniques they have with LRA's would absolutely shock most people who talk smack about Mustangs. Yes, in the past it's been nothing to speak of, but I'm telling you, it's a different story now. It's getting to the point where LRA's are creeping up on and even sometimes passing IRS's at the skid pad. Until you drive a new LRA done right, keep your judgements on reserve, because every person that I've seen drive a new proper LRA has been blown away.
I've driven a couple of these cars, dont talk shit until you know what you're talking about. No doubt there is more modern suspension in nearly EVERY car on the market, but that doesnt mean these are anything near slow or unable to turn.
ha wats those mustangs doing on a touring track!?!?! they belong in there straight line environment leave the touring track for imports with modern suspension.
that actually has to do with sponsorship and money. And the fact that there are more mustangs than m3's(But the champion at the end of the year was Will Turner of Turner Motorsports...he drives an M3).
also, koni challenge is a spec suspension league. Everybody uses the same koni shocks and springs.
which year are you talking about? and you're probably thinking about driver champions. which is wrong. i can link you the site. for 2009 it was ken wilden of rehagen racing (mustang) with 317 points, 2nd was mustang and 3rd was mustang. 2009 team points were rehagen again, mustang 2nd and turner 3rd place. and of course ford also got the manufacturers win of 346 over bmw's 345. close though. pretty much ford swept the whole thing. i think 2008 joe foster tied with scott maxwell for driver(ford).
and like i said, mustang only won due to sponsorship and having more mustangs on the track.
the reason why there is more on the track is because they are cheaper to build and more teams turn to them. So they are able to finish more in higher spots than any other make.
whats going to be good is the 2010 season with the addition of the camaro and challenger. Should be a good bout between the manufactures like old trans am times.
mainly my reply is just saying that the mustangs don't really out perform the others...they just have more. And the more you have of 1 make on the track, the easier it is to win.
What they have done is have a bigger army of cars on the track. Which is how you sell cars.
i like both kinds of cars, but my moms california special still would not hang with my old sti around turns. i just hate those mustang guys who hate on imports just as much as u probably hate those import guys that say mustangs cant turn. it sucks ford doesnt go back to the svt cobra platform and return with the independant rear suspension that would be so cool

The Mustang was never a fast car round a track, the new one is actually slower than most sporty family cars round a somewhat tight circuit

it hangs better G on the skidpad then both the camaro and the challenger (based on numbers published in road and track)
and besides, they're all modified for the track, (obviously)

Mmm Mustangs are beastly and the best, but their live rear axles aren't.
Rawr454 2 years ago
Live rear axel is fun so slide around on though...
JimmyVDitti 2 years ago 2
actually its interesting because these cars still use the stock rear axle and in koni challenges outperform m3's with more advanced suspension.

anyyywwayys. the point of my comment was the mustang still uses the live rear while the other cars use newer better suspension.

that makes no sense.
its like saying hyundai beat chevy because they had MORE elantras on the track vs their camaros.
if you believe that the camaro is a truly superior car, it should waste whatever is in its wake...
KtfoMustang 2 years ago
it makes plenty of sense if you were to pay attention to the subject racoonpoon and I were talking about.
Which was manufacture points over the course of a full race season.
And to be able to comment you have to understand how the points system worked.
Thats why racoonpoon had a valid arguement and you dont.
SuperFork00 2 years ago
already the camaro, thing is so bad ass.
racoonpooon 2 years ago
yeah I love that car.
I can't wait to see how it does in a full season next year. Gonna be a great season for 2010.

i wonder why idiot impot lovers don't watch this videos, since they are so retarded to acknowledge mustangs are not straight line cars.
