  • It's big, it's noisy, it's oily, it's smoky, it's nearly useless when sitting on the ground.....It's BEAUTIFUL.

  • lol they could just use a v12 diesel...better

  • THE TURBOS. OMG.

  • so it's a V10 why just not make it a V12 if you're already so close =/

  • In reality you feel the sound just as much as you hear it. It's an experience.

  • screw the viper's 8 liter V-10 i want this!

  • phoeee big turbo`s !!

  • @kwikmans i belive these engines are supercharged

  • now lets see some ricer drop 1 of these in a little honda

  • wow... happy tree friends music? lol

  • Imagine fitting this on a mack truck.

  • MTU MB 838 CaM 500, 10-cylinder, 37.4 litres, multi-fuel engine

    830 PS (819 hp, 610 kW) at 2200 RPM

a tank designed and produced in Germany that first entered service in 1965

  • the leopard has a MTU MB 873 12-Zylinder-Diesel with 47.6 l capacity and 1500 hp... not a 10 Zylinder with 37.4l....

  • @Roestikrokette thats wrong. The Leopard 1 Tank had a 10 Cylindre Engine. just like jcezary wrote. What you mean is a Engine of a Leopard 2 Tank

  • @Roestikrokette thats wrong. The Leopard 1 Tank had a 10 Cylindre Engine. just like jcezary wrote. What you mean is a Engine of a Leopard 2 Tank

  • @Roestikrokette

The newer ones do. This is from a 1A5.

  • This sounds gooood

  • uuuuhh i am danish :)

  • how big were those turbos?

  • This V10 may only have just a little more than half the horsepower of the Leo 2 V12 - but the sound of the Leo 1 in the distance thundering towards you is much, much more intimidating than the sound of a Leo 2 coming towards you.

  • I want that in a 4x4 truck....NOW!!!!!

  • are u sure? he takes his 300litre per 100km ;)

  • yep.... fit this in a chop frame... and make harley riders cry..... hahahahaa

  • And yet you have improved gas milage on a harley. So your car is a machine for converting gas into... not much sound at all?

  • 830 horsepower and 18 million pound feet of torque.

  • no, just a couple thousand ;)

  • Wenn das dingen angeschmissen wird würde ich vor den ansaugstutzen weggehen xD...sonst hängt man hinterher drin^^

  • Wär' doch 'ne Prima-Melkmaschine, was?

  • @TheBigTittyTwister

    Die armen Kühe:)

  • @T1w4z Ich meinte eigentlich für Brachio- und Brontosaurier. Obwohl... Hatten die eigentlich Euter? Ne, waren ja Reptilien. Ach verdamt, FAIL...

  • @TheBigTittyTwister

Wie wäre es mit Anderson und Buster? Die haben doch auch ein ordentliches Kaliber.:)

  • German POWER !!!

  • that engine is almost too big

  • the sound this engine make is pure music.

  • so leopard is a danish tank too?

  • no no and no .

they just bought it from the germans as anyone now who has leropard2(and there diffrent versions)

  • well leo 2s is made in many contries. not demank though.

  • are these soldiers italian?

  • Danish soldiers

  • thats a nice sounding engine lol.

  • Aren't they a MAN Diesel?

  • No. It is a MTU (Motoren- und Turbinenunion) multifuel-engine.

  • if its 800 horsepower then its probably got about 2000 ft pds torque(diesel) god damn!

  • 3000 ft pds and 41 litres i think

leo 2 has got 1200 hp and 47 litres and 5000 ft pds

  • Leo2 has 1500 hp.

  • right

    MTU MB 873 12-Zylinder-Diesel

    1.103 kW (1.500 PS)

  • DAMNN!!!

    look at those HUGE TURBOS!!!

  • Just.Freakin'.Amazing.

Heh...when it comes to Engines size DOES count.

  • Holy shit those turbos are huge!

  • wonderful.

  • Don't blame you. It's fun workin on the V-10 one. Have yet to work on the V-12. Sounds awesome on the run-up stand when your 2 feet away from the pack. :D

  • @BorstyGMC It has an achilles heel.

I drove the Leopard 1 A5 the engines fuel lines break very easy when you accellerate it to drive fast, spilling fuel everywere

It was designed to serve on a boat or small submarine where you don't accellerate decellerate on a fast freqency

  • @215alessio that problem cannot possibly be difficult to fix. stainless steel fuel lines, for example.

  • @kenfo0

maybe if they can withstand more pressure fluctuations. Even the new fuel lines breaked when fast accelleration /decelleration uccurred.

Anyway It wasn't specific designed as a tank engine but it did is job good enough

  • its a compleetly different engine than the Leopard 2 engine, this one has a lower sound

  • Best sound of any tank!

    So incredibly low pitched.

  • yeah, leopard engines are the best tank sounds i've heard!

  • The Leo1 has a V-10 supercharged diesel, while the Leo2 has a V-12 turbocharged diesel.

  • ok:):D

    i like it both!:P

    Vruuuoooooommmmmm!!:P

  • wow...that sounds sooo manly!

  • Let's put one of those in my Opel haha

  • the sound of the leo 1 v10 motor was absolutely the best thinh to hear in our camp. I loved it when we started up in the morning, and I loved more at the maintence depot when we runned it out-of-the-box! 830Hp of power

  • FEEEED MOTORLYD. Har du mere fra den skuffe? Tjeck lige leopard 1 in terrain. Det er med den sjove mand som kører.

  • I f**king LOVE the sound of that engine! I was a crewman on an American M1A1 and I absolutely hated it's turbines engine. It sucked down fuel, ate spare parts, and required daily V-pak(air filter) maintence. Give me a piston-engine any day!

  • Seems like many people hated the Abrams engine.

  • how many liters is this engine?

  • 37400 cc or 37,4 liters

  • This is leopard 1 38liters... leopard 2 has 48 liters engine, and 1500HP :-DDD coolll...

  • @MadsKaizer I see it has great fuel economy... lol.. just kidding

  • there is a vid off a mustang with this engine!!!!!!

  • ???

  • Hum ... how about building a frame around that motor and press in a seat . steerting wheel and some wheels and axels :) ....and maybe some weight :)

  • Why not change the wheels to tracks? Lets make a powerful personal off road beast !

  • will that fit in my f150

  • Not bloody likely! The engine looks to be almost the same size as your truck!
