a class action law suit needs to be filed. I am having the same problems. My iMac is dying - I can't even see 1/4 of my screen but after doing research even the new iMacs are screwy!!
My 17 inch model bought in 2005 has a useless screen image, in coloured blocks, also it always had a tendency to shut down if I knocked the desk or turned slightly the screen slightly
Ths screen started to lose image quality last year until it finally went a few months ago, they want a fortune to replace the screen if it is that, some say it could be the motherboard
It cost a small fortune to buy 1200 euros; not impressed!
Yep, this happend to me. It started when I started it up after a long day, and the gray from the bootup process stayed in a lone vertical section in the middle, forever.
always buy extended warranties for this type of shit period. I had a $600+ PS3 die after only 16 months, put me completely off console gaming until PS3 comes down to around $300 or less with extended warranty. I would never buy a 360 which is sure to break again and again.
I'm thinking of getting either a Mac mini or 20" iMac, but if i do it's with the 3 year warranty for sure.
my god dude !!!! search youtube for Imac screen problem & Imac vertical lines, and see the hundreds of people that are having the same problems.... Apple is putting out junk these days. buy a PC !! and save money and have more power.
definately take it to the genius bar at an apple store. They will either fix it or give you a new/refurbished one immediately. At least that is what I would do...
I agree so many fanboys out there wont even entertain the possibility of a problem, they immediatly blame the user for the display. Most likly they dont have this monitor at all and are comparing it to their bluebox imac with os9 on it.

You are really really stupid.
Ive had my 360 since early last year and it hasnt broken, neither has my wii which ive had since release, but my ps3 has broken 3 times.
My mac would just shut down on its own so i sold it as faulty on gumtree and got myself a high spec custom vista.
Ive had no problems so far. Honestly though you sound like a little prat by saying 'oh a 360 would break'.
If you dont know anything, dont say anything.

Hate to brake it to you: stuff brakes. Stuff goes kaputt.
And Apple has one of the lowest failure rates of all computer companys ... I'm not sure, but maybe even the lowest.
Just get it repaired, man.
That's what's warranty is for. And get AppleCare. Great value.

You people need to stop messing with your crap even though it's not broken. Wanna play with a iMac, go screw up an old G3 one.

Welcome to Apple. There is no problem. It's all in your imagination. Buy more apple products.
