this is a weird mix of styles, start with taqsim (improvisation) on qanun, then jumps to some female vocalist trying something not clear, then Kuwaiti folk music, then Iraqi style oud improvisation (munir Bashir)?
Hey man, I like these kind of music, instrumentally, traditional Arab music with the sitar and percussion, any suggestion what should I Google to find these kind of songs?
hi i know this is not indian music but maybe someone on here could answer my question. what is the song playing during the 'brick lane' movie trailer? thank you!
I found this for you using an awesome service called 'Shazam'. If you have or ever get an iPhone, you can use it to identify almost any song by just holding your iphone up to the music for 10 seconds.
The song you are looking for is 'Adam's Lullaby' by Natacha Atlas Prague Symphony Orchestra
i have question need help !!!! do someone of you know the type of music which is played in "sleeper cell" or in the beginning of the song "alpha twins - smack my derb" plz answer i love this music PLZ help me how is it called???? the type ...
What is the genre of music in this video called? I love arabic music like this (the melodic and chanting sound), but don't know what to search for to find it. All I can ever find is Arabic pop and rap.
If you wanna look up this type of music you should YouTube the words "hijaz kar" which is a scale used in Arabic music, "taqasem" or "taksim" which I believe means improvisation!
You can also YouTube the names of traditional Arabic musical instruments such as "Ud", "Kanon" or just "traditional/classical Arabic music" ;-)
i know you said this 2 years ago. but listen. this century is the Utopia. You live in ancient damascus. you'd probably be a serf. or facing exectuions by crusaders, mongols, or other arabs.
The name of the first instrument is Kanun or Qanon. It is a traditional Arabic instrument. It's a string instrument that is shaped like a box and has 25 -- 27 groups of strings. Each group has 3 strings that are toned to the same note but in different octaves.
The name of the second instrument is Ud. It is also a traditional Arabic instrument that very much resembles the European Lute and is actually said to be the origin of Lute the modern day guitar. It has eleven strings in six courses.

1:32 Sawt shami: not sure if you meant the name of the group because shami means from damascus and that was Gulf music.

i belive what you are looking for is old songs.
look for old singers like om kalthoom , abd elhaleem hafez , fairuz, Abdel Wahab.
or look for anything that is 'mawwal' which is kind of singing with one or no instrument mostly 'oud'

3 strings of the same note but different octaves u say.
So strumming all 3 at once would still sound good, unlike a guitar where strumming all 6 open fret sounds horrible.
I like this kind of music, I am from England.
