Thanks for bringing back the great memories! This happened the summer I turned 9 and I have so many great memories of visiting all of the pavilions and seeing so many special events.
what about the painted cars?? They were the best! Just poking, thanks for sharing. Glad I was old enough to remember something. IMHO, I think you should mention the name of the song. I was actually searching for that song "This Is My Home" for the longest time. Thanks again for sharing :-)
I live in Vancouver, I remember going there once or couple of times. But I was only 7, so I was too young to enjoy the atmosphere for what it truly was.. Was it really that good?
psychochun you might have seen me there too. I was the little kid that was being dragged around and told to shut up and not look at anything. Then my uncle beat me over the head with one of the many payphones as I acctidently touched one while he was using it.. I wish I was older when expo "happened here" I would have had a MUCH better time - I also had a 3 day pass. and since 86 I have had that stupid song stuck in my head.... *sings* "Something's happening, something's happening here"
Seriously....What ever happened to the Space Drop (AKA The Minolta Space Tower)... I wanted to go on it but my mom would not let me..... I was only 7 in 1986
thanks for posing the video bluefan. It brings back my memory in Vancouver around that time. I remember Princess Diana was there for the official opening. I have been in every single one of the pavilions in the Expo in the period of 3 days, since i got a 3 days pass.. Every time you visited a pavilion, they will put a stamp on your Expo Passport. I am still keeping the passports until today. Were you there? I might have seen you!!!!!

from 1986-2011, the Science World hasn't changed one bit. LOL.

I was at Expo 86 in Vancouver. I was only 10, but I remember the opening ceremony with Princess Diana and Prince Charles.
