I never knew he had a moustache! And his heathered hairstyle (at that time) made him look like Apollo from Battlestar Galactica. Great vintage video, though!
you gotta admit though.. its impressive how they've managed to drag along a small peice of their younger selfs :] you can hear a small peice of that younger soul :3
People if you get the chance go see him live! He is going to tour starting March 2009 with Elton John off and on for the next 2 years. Take your children so they can hear some real music and see talent!
What an awesome song im young but i like this better than emo-rock, rap, or any other shit my generation listens too. One of the songs that gives goosebumps every time

Too long ago to remember what the "house band" looked like but that being them is a good guess on my part.
I remember when i was young listening to that song on and on and on my mom was getting pissed off at me so much i was repeating it haha Reallllly good song!
I'm not really a fan of this "You Tube" thing. However, I don't think I could or would ever see this gem any other way. The video is ok and this cut of Piano Man is the anthem I remember hearing as a kid.
They need to put out a DVD of his archives. This stuff is great. He sang this at a time when the song wasn't an albatross or the singalong it would later become.
Good one. Saw him in Bangor, Maine...what a nice show...lots of energy. Over his attitude that seems apparent in this video. A definite musical treasure.
with a moustache he seems to be 20 years older

This is one of those very few songs that just work and almost to perfection. The words, the piano and the harmonica!!!!!

totally agree! It comes from The Old Grey Whistle Test Years 1975 DVD. It's what made me fall for Billy Joel, it's real and it's fabulous!
