The difference between Marcus and 99% of other even great bassists like say Wooten is that his tone is always impeccable, his timing is unmatched and he can hold a stinky sick groove with just a few notes. He wasnt invited to play on more than 500 albums just for his funky hat! One of the greats!

I love all the race comments on here. im a white bassist and had the incredible opportunity to play with Mr. Poogie Bell last month. It was incredible. and i bet if you called him and asked him how it went there would never be a mention of race directed at either side. Marcus is to smart of a musician to bring race into the equation for picking his band. All it would do would limit the potential of what he could do.
