@krasav4ik82 Who the hell is talking about stitching photos together? So you want to compare a stitched photo that is the "equivalent" of 60MP to a single 12MP image from a D3s? Single image for single image (no B.S. stitching pics together crap), the D90 does not compare to the D3s, especially once you start printing larger than 16x24 or shoot above ISO 500 in the D90. Not to mention the D3s has FAR better dynamic range and color than the D90. There's more to it than MP count.
@drouleau Be quiet. Got your pants wet. D90 at 60 mpixels will eat your d3 for breakfast. I did compare it myself. The images at 60 mpixels on d90 so clear. The noise get at 66% in photoshop before that noise is invisible. Means at 12-24 mpixels you will not see any noise at all!
@krasav4ik82 Once again, WHO CARES ABOUT STITCHING PHOTOGRAPHS TOGETHER. So you watched Likiwikiguy87's video on how to stitch photos together. Congrats. Is every photograph you take Photoshopped to death? I'll bet you shoot almost everything in HDR too. I'm done, I don't argue with fauxtographers. Best of luck to you with your software, perhaps I'll use it someday.
@drouleau I do not shoot in HDR. I did not watch Likiwikigu87 videos. I created my own video on stitching photos it is called "How To Double Mpixels In Digital Camera" . Watch it on youtube. Companies saying megapixels is not everything are lack of technology to make it higher megapixels. I dont buy that marketing myth. The more mp you get is better cause you can always size it down to get rid of the noise and make image sharper. This is the fact, that I concluded during my tests.
And even more than that, the difference in quality between a 12mp and a 21mp photo is negligible - the 21 mp sensor may not necessarily have as good quality as a 12 mp sensor (compare Nikon D3s and 5D Mark II). Those two cameras MIGHT have comparable quality, but it's not necessarily the case by any means.
Do you understand that megapixels != quality? It's like saying, "I have a bigger painting canvas; therefore, my painting will be more detailed".
Surely he was not planning on making panoramas of EVERYTHING he takes - that's just not reasonable and that's the reason why DSLRs today aren't just 2 megapixel cameras (why have anything more if you can just stitch the rest in?...).
Your process is not feasible for almost all photographic situations except for landscapes and maybe portraits. That's why we ask ourselves whether we want to get a 12 mp camera or a 21 mp camera. The truth is, the 12mp will do just fine for about anyone.
The topic is whether megapixels make a significant impact in image quality. Read the very first post of this thread. I'm not going to hold your hand for that.
The answer is, they have the capacity for image quality, but don't necessarily have to have it. And the original poster was NOT talking about panoramas stitched from many pictures. He was talking about whether or not it was worth it to buy a camera of, say, 12 mp or 18 mp.
The point I'm trying to make here is that Megapixels have the CAPACITY for quality, NOT quality itself. Your stitching process actually does produce that quality, but nothing about Megapixels necessitates better quality. Nothing. That is up to the sensor.
My dream camera. Damn that thing is fast. To bad 12 mpixels. If I would pay 3k dollars for a body - I want 16-18 mpixels with the same speed.I think in 2012-2013 nikon will do a great and fast as d3s and have 16-18 mpixels and for the price range 2500-3000.But so far this is my dream camera,to bad I dont have money to buy it yet.
So far and even for 5 years in the raw d3s will be enough for me for sure even with 12 mpixels.I am owner of d90 and love it,but cant imagine how I would be happy w d3s
@krasav4ik82 You shouldnt pay a lot of money for a camera untill you understand how these things work. megapixels have no meaning in most contexts, its just a marketing scam for the people who have no idea about image quality. I am a canon shooter, but respect nikon for not blindly participating in this contest, specially with their better best camera's like d3s and d700 ( both 12 megapix) d3s is the absolute king of dslr's available ( for most aplications)
Oh you dumbass. That's called stitching images into a panorama, and - in the case with which you're dealing - those images are NOT comparable to regular pictures. They emulate a camera with a larger sensor, giving effects of heightened depth of field, less noise, larger frame, etc.
They do look nice though. But it's not the same as taking a real picture. You have to have a mainly static subject for your method.
Okay, you clearly don't understand what you're talking about - the last two posts you wrote to me were filled with basically only ad hominem, nothing of actual substance.
If you want to continue arguing, perhaps you could explain to me what exactly the benefit is of more megapixels, rather than just a better 12 megapixel sensor. Actually I'll answer that for you - There's no difference. There are 21 megapixel cameras whose sensors are trumped by 12 megapixel ones
@123IOWNALL321 Search for video "How To Double Mpixels In Digital Camera" - watch it. You will understand perhaps you have a brain to analyze and listen.
What do you think I did? I understand that method very thoroughly and I've even done it before myself.
That method has absolutely no bearing on the quality of a native 20, 30, or 40 megapixel sensor. What you seem to fail to understand is that there's no connection between what you're talking about and what we're talking about. The whole marketing scheme behind being able to advertise larger megapixels reduces incentive to produce better sensors. There's no reason to believe bigger means better
@123IOWNALL321 You are looser that have no knowledge in algebra and geometry. That is why it does not make any difference to you. Typical lamb that eat marketing bull.Watch my video I will explain and show examples. When you shooting 4x portrait mode to make it 3:2 on simple 12 mpixels sensor it is 60 mpixels.Everything is in perfect sharp focus, because u use 4x of focus points and etc. There is so much benefits. Even my Iphone 3gs can beat d90 12 mpixels on quality when it is 35mp
I'm looser than what, exactly? And you're being absolutely silly - lambs do not eat bulls. How could they? Bulls are clearly the stronger, more superior animal because of higher levels of lean muscle and better fighting tactics.
I don't understand...lambs obviously do not have the mental capacity nor physical dexterity to type on a keyboard, and, as previously stated, lambs have no incentive nor motivation to eat bull faeces. If you do indeed have "facts" behind your words, I would like to see them. I've never heard of lambs eating bull "shit" before. How absurd.
@krasav4ik82 ok now do that with an action shot, you would need multiple aligned and synced cameras to capture that and it still wouldnt be perfect for a number of reasons, even beyond fixing the perspective induced distortions. Its impractical, not to mention you dont get all the benefits of a better camera. Its got nothing to do with just megapixles, the dynamic range is vastly different on the two cameras, noticeably so....
@krasav4ik82 Im sorry but you are clearly not a professional photographer, and if you are you have found yourself to fit into a small niche. If i were shooting model shots and needed mf res I wouldnt want to carry around a 4 camera rig just to have to then wait to process and organise all my shots just to preview them, its not feasible in a professional shooting environment anymore, maybe for landscape and 360/panoramic shots yes, but for the rest, which constitute most of photography...no.
What do you think I did? I understand that method very thoroughly and I've even done it before myself.
What you fail to understand is that there's absolutely no need for any connection between the count of megapixels and the quality of the sensor. You could have a 100 megapixel sensor and have lower-quality images than an excellent 12.1mp sensor. The race for megapixels in the advertising market reduces incentive to make better sensors. There's no reason to believe bigger means better
You must be dense or English isn't your first language. Let me clarify: Your images ARE much sharper than the 12mp shots for obvious reasons, but AS FAR AS MANUFACTURING GOES, there is no reason to believe that more megapixels = better detail/clarity. To think so is to be a slave to the market.
The D3s is a perfect example of this. There are plenty of cameras out there boasting ridiculous megapixel counts, but what does that mean if it doesn't handle noise well? If its dynamic range isn't high enough? If it doesn't handle contrast as nicely?
What I'm saying here is a few things: Have fun with huge panorama images, but it's not the same as taking an instantaneous shot with regular framing. Also, just because something has more megapixels doesn't mean it's more detailed.
You must be dense or English isn't your first language. Let me clarify: Your images ARE much sharper than the 12mp shots for obvious reasons, but AS FAR AS MANUFACTURING GOES, there is no reason to believe that more megapixels = better detail/clarity.

@Jakob1056687 In my opinion canon 1d mk IV is far better for shooting birds. Crop sensor (x1.3) "increases" focal length so when you use 300mm 2.8 lens you have almost 400mm. Canon has more pixels (16MP) so you can crop images. Canon's AF in multi brust mode is still better than Nikon's. Canon's AF works with 2x extender and f/4 lens (f/8!). 1d records videos in higher resolution (1080p) than Nikon. Only disadvantage of 1d mk IV is noises at higher ISO sensitivities (consequence of crop sensor).
I love how they are following her in an alley and then the camera angle changes to the car chaser and the background shows the city lights instead of the alley.
Capable camera, kinda shit film... I don't think this promotional video would persuade anyone to especially want to buy this camera. However, the video does show that buying good tools does not also buy skill.
People 1080, 720 it's all frame size not quality the red cameras 1080 will kill all canon and nikon images so what get your work done on what you got and be happy.
do they really think they can fool us? this would be more impressive if the "night" shots were not lighted, like the faces in the cars, people who buy a 6000$ camera are professionals, they can detect those things nikon :)
how cute, I know them all. It must have bee fun doing it. Anyhow the artist makes the film and not a name. It is ambassaring to think the other way around.
Schade!

What is best to take pictures of birds with?
Nikon D3s or Canon Eos Mark IV
Thank you :)
Jakob1056687 1 year ago
@Jakob1056687 The Nikon D3s has a better AF system so i suppose is better for moving birds and so on and it's also a full frame camera ;)
29erfast 1 year ago
@29erfast Thank you! :)
Jakob1056687 1 year ago
@Jakob1056687 both are the same but you might wanna go for the nikon for late at night pictures although i like canon better
BentQuarter 1 year ago

Capable camera, kinda shit film... I don't think this promotional video would persuade anyone to especially want to buy this camera. However, the video does show that buying good tools does not also buy skill.

.

kurz gesagt sehr gut gemacht

Drulwag 2 years ago
alibiforever 2 years ago
bramscherjunge 2 years ago
Schade!
DiGeBHa 2 years ago

petermusthave 2 years ago
