@beeba77 I did my best. Sometimes, my best isn't good enough. I made this around 2:00 AM, so, I blame tiredness on the synchronization, or lack there of.
@travis7310 - Sometimes my best isn't there at all - I could have addressed this more nicely. Also, I don't know how to synch up text with video so I shouldn't talk. I thought the vid was made by someone who had been doing this for a long time and wondered why it wasn't synched correctly. Now I say, excellent try Travis, especially doing this at 2 am in the morning. I'm glad you got back to me and were so nice about it. I've learned a lesson here. Thanks again Travis7310.
@beeba77 Thanks for downloading this. My sisters and I were singing this along with the music and it was the bomb if I must say so myself! I was born when this out and I love it to death! Who are The Jaynetts? I heard that they were a group who grew up in the Bronx, NY. Now I am from Queens, NY! This song is the BOMB!
I just love this song. I loved when i heard it first as a teen in the early 60s.
There are some Sally songs like mustang Sally and the reference to Sally in Spirit in the Dark" by Aretha Franklin but this Sally speaks to me. I am not sure if its the sadness in the confirmation of thelyrics or the guitar and piano or the call response, but it is a haunting "sally."
@L1S91 Yes, there are at least two "mixes" of the song circulating. I actually prefer this one - it sounds less innocent than the organ version, and more appropriate for the eerie vibe of the song.
@freddyscotch- Louise Murray who was one of the original Jaynetts- not lead but in the background and she was also a member of The Hearts who recorded Lonely Nights in 1955 (Jaynetts were an offshoot of the Hearts) still performs in a group thats called Super Girls Group that includes orignal members of The Cookies, Exciters, Raindrops and DelRons
superb simply superb I bought this when it first came out, back in the 60's which was not easy in the UK, any idea whay year that would have been? and why did they not have anymore hits
@freddyscotch This song came out in 1963. The Jaynetts were one hit wonders, although they have two albums out that are compilations. The first one is titled "The Very Best of The Jaynetts" and the second one is called "Sally and All the Rest".
@freddyscotch I was totally in love with this eerie sound. It came out (...in Montreal, anyway) in the spring of '63. A truly great song. I never heard of them after though.
I think this song is a lament of a lesbian who can't stop her lover from going downtown and cruising.

Awesome. I don't see any problem with synchronization of the music and lyrics. P.S.: I first heard this song on an episode of The Sopranos...

Sync the lyricks - they are way off. Totally annoying. HOWEVER, It was a very nice try and you chose a kick ass song! Thanks so much.

I noticed that this version does not feature the organ!

thanks for the info, are they still performing? so many of the 60s performers are dead already or like the stones still walking but look dead!
