  • Wow! I didn't expect this to work, but it did. It also introduced AviSynth. Scripting language for video editing. Not something I'd considered before, but I think the idea may prove to be a winner!

  • This works perfectly, didn't work for me in virtualdub. But definintly works in VirtualDubMod. If you're having trouble, download VirtualDubMod from

    sourceforge (dot) net/projects/virtualdubmod/fil­es/

    I had the same problem, wasn't working with VirtualDub works fine with Virtual Dub Mod

  • All the steps worked for me, but when I open the .avs in VirtualDub, it's showing each frame of the video file with really weird colors. It's mostly black-and-white, but with a double image in reddish/blueish colors. It also makes VirtualDub freeze every time I try to play the video. Any ideas?

  • didnt work for me until i went to the movie thats on my desktop, right clicked, properties, security, than i copied and pasted the "name of object" onto the wordpad thing.. hope it helps guys...

  • It works fine for me but when I try to save a segment it comes up as multiple files and they're all very big. It happens when I try to save as mkv and avi. I did direct stream copy for both audio and video. Help anyone?

  • for mp4, i used virtualdubmod instead because virtualdub itself didn't work for me, the rest of the instructions were pretty much spot on ;)

  • At 3:40 don't select the x64 version even if you have a 64-bit operating system, because VirtualDub is a 32-bit application and won't see 64-bit codecs.

    I work with graphics.. in eyeon Fusion.. and there some problem with loading mkv files on my mashine.

    after creating *.avs file and import it - all work fine in Fusion! exact what i need now!
