@retalia4 Because back in the Battle of Waterloo, The French Guard wore the bear skins. Then the British Grenadier, Coldstream and other guards regiments made them retreat, as the British chassed the remainder down they stole the bear skins from the dead bodys of the French Guard. They were renowned as the force with would never retreat but because these regiments made them do just that the bearskin became part of there uniform.

There are 5 Guards' Regiments, Coldstream (Red Plume in bearskin), Grenadiers (White plume), Irish (Blue Plume) Scots (No plume) and the Welsh (white and green plume)
