Go on the JSU band website. They list what they expect you to know how to do at tryouts and how its going to be. I checked it out already and front roll, back roll, right split, left split, toetouch, and cartwheel were some of the things listed. But yea, if you want info go to the Sonic Boom band page and click the Jsette tryout link or you can go to (I think the name is right) RealJsette88thru99 youtube page, she was a jsette I believe.

I use to love to see the Dancin Dolls perform... They had energy and style. I love them.. It's just to many on the field this year to watch. But they are still good. They are some beautiful and energetic squad and they bring it when they come.

this routine was actually pretty good. . . They started this routine out full of energy, but you call tell around the time of the kickline that energy level decreased. I would LOVE to see the Dolls keep consistency on the field. But as always, Im reppin my school with pride . . GEAUX JAGS AND DOLLS !!!

Every1 is always tryna compare them 2 the Dolls of da Past, this is a New Squad and a New Day! These girls are dancing there Butts off and wear'n out all Competition! The 2006 Squad only had 4 old heads, 2 jrs, 2 sophs,and a Soph Captain. Do u know this is a Young Squad most of these girls have only danced 1 or 2 yrs and I feel like they r handling there BUSINESS!! I haven't seen a Squad completely change there Style and Look and REP like they have! SU Dancing Dolls are and always will be #1!

The reason for the constant comparison is because the Dolls of the past had more drive than that of the current ones. You can look @ old vids & if you've even seen them live you can see how the energy level & technicality has decreased as the years go by. No one is dissin the current Dolls, they just simply don't have that 110% energy from the old ones. Also as the Dolls number increase, makes it easier for more members compared to the old days to be a Doll, you rather had IT, or you don't.

Band director slowed the tempo down. Therefore, they're not as sharp as they use to be. The dolls have always been a high energy dance team until Jackson got there.

Actully, there are two other versions of this routine from 1995 and 1997...The 1995 routine was performed with the Dolls and members of the band at 1995 Bayou Classic...Then in 1997, Captian Kristy Howard put a funky re-mix to the 1995 version...And now this version, with the same beginning in the five-eight counts of the version from 1997...In the break down, the straddle-split is taken out of this version...Overall, this version was descent

This is a good routine, but do a search "Southern University Band '95 Bayou Classic Halftime" ..... this was when this routine was done initially. A variation to it, but the performance was ALOT cleaner in 95. Also, the one in 98 is ALOT cleaner also.

regardless of what people say, u can not PLEASE everyone especially your own, but neverthless this performance was HOOOTTTTT, few mistakes like anything else because nothing is gonna be perfect but hey ... i think MOST people still dont have the swing of the different shape, color, etc of dolls, more than that the number of dolls ... I LOVE IT ...

I must agree that you can not please everyone, however, this is not a matter of pleasure, rather a statement of execution. This performance was poorly executed. It has nothing to do with shape, color, or numbers, but more so a matter of skill. When something is being duplicated there is no room for mistate, especially from a collegiate squad. Again, the routine is nice, but execution is horrible.

This has a lot to do with pleasure because clearly it's not pleasing to you. Yeah, as I stated before few mistakes like any but lets remember this was by far "not one of their bad off routines" if u followed the dolls you would know.

And yes different shape, color, number of dolls, is not wanted by a lot of people, majority of them is our own. Not saying you're one of them but we(the band) well as the dolls get talk down about performances when we gave and always give

150%+ on the field and in reality they are mad because they wanted and fought for we have what they could never get.

I'm a Southern University Alumnist and former cheerleader 2002-2006. I must admit that I absolutely hate this performance. The routine is nice, of course, because it is a remake, but the execution of it is horrible... To those of you who are reading this, check out the 1998 dolls perfoming this routine. In your search engine type in SU band 1998 and a hit should come up reading SU vs PVU halftime..That is the real Give It To Me Baby.
