Wonderful video, thanks so much for uploading. Strangely, though I'm 30, there were still drips and drabs of this era specked through the city of London and spreading out to the suburbs back at the end of the 70's . Especially in our pleasure architecture. So ironically images like this aren't just nostalgic in a far-away sense, but as a literal touch of memory, too.
Remember the boom of the 1920's was artificial - the depression was the market correction just like the boom of the 60's with the recession in the 70's as a market correction and the boom of the 1990's internet bubble with its 2000 recession market correction, and the boom of the 2006 sub-prime mortgage bubble with its subsequent market correction. This can be understood by central bank's manipulation of interest rates.
The one decade when America was truly free from Government (except for prohibition) and they really took advanage of free enterprise. The trouble of l929 was due to over production - The Federal controls of FDR got us into the mess we have today - ALAS!!
What an amazing, historic era! Of all the footage in history, nothing compares to the 20's. I always feel I was born in the wrong era - would have loved to live back then! Great compilation - thanks for the wonderful trip back to a time that will never be rivaled.
I really like the picture at 4:30, any idea where it is from? How to get it? Thanks!

Did people actually measure the length of a girl's skirt from where it ended to her knee?
And i agree -- it was amazing! I think it looks like quite a bit of fun, actually!

@GeminiNightOwl There's an old saying "History repeats itself" and it sure does if you look at history, so lets hope this one does one day ;)

@GeminiNightOwl I agree with you. I would have much rather lived in the 1920's, with the promise of progress and prosperity. If only.
