Awesome Paul!!!! I was a speed skater when I was young. Also played hockey and broom ball...and then...I fell in love with horses! Nothing else mattered after that! I fell asleep in school alot!! LOL
And watching Shane is like the Santa Anita this weekend. There were three speed horses that scratched the morning of the race. When they saw the final lineup, they decided there wasnt any need to load in the gate. Just like Shane's competition--pack up their skates and go buy a sno-cone instead!
Watching your children growning up doing what they love is very precious time. I have video tapes and scrapbooks of my 2 girls growing up getting involved with activities that shaped them into the women they are today. My oldest begged for an entire year to play ice hockey. It was one of the best choices I made allowing her to play. She went from such a insecure, introvert to the most amazing young woman. She found out who she was while becoming a state champ high school hockey player.
Yep, doing sports pushes the right buttons and gives them a competitive confidence to do other challenges and matures them mentally a lot faster than just playing with their friends. I love sports and didn't really get to find something I could excel in when I was younger. I'm only just getting the hang of applying that focus now..lol When I grow up, I wanna be a rider.
That's all it's been for me in my life since I can remember - just horses. When I was young I really wanted to show western pleasure but my Mum forbid it. A friend took me once to show with her horse in a tandem bareback class. The ribbon I won was like getting the Olympic gold metal. I hope to teach my grandchildren about the love of equines. To share my passion with them too.
yeah, yeah, yeah... they're spectacular atheletes... I mean c'mon.....some things ARE genetic :) lol...I just want to pinch cheeks :) the cuteness factor is off the scale :) you must be very proud of them :)
GG I have to agree with you! Lemi looks like she's stalking her prey, doesnt she? Little and cute, but a real Terminator at speed skating--and Shane just looks so darn cool--he's out the gate quickly and just keeps the lead the whole way. I'm sure his competition groans when they see him come up
BRAVO!!!! BRAVO!!!! Beautifully put together...Enjoyed every moment!! You and Mum should be so proud. They are growing up so fast. Shane is making it look so easy and smooth and Lemi not to far behind. Do we have Olympic Games contenders here??? Wonderful job Paul and thanks for sharing!!!
Wow, this one is gonna make nana cry...lol - Shane's just so COOL, he's got style and grace, sleek speed! Lemi has got the fighting spirt; power and determination, rrrrrrrh - Awesome photos at the end there, though they look mighty familiar? ;o)
Great pictures and studies wit h good music. After waking up my interest for horse racing you start getting me interested in speedskating now  It looks very powerful and dynamic and ugly fast, sure we´d all get our butts terribly hurt by trying this
How old are they? Sure you and your wife are very proud - and you should be! 5*oc!
wow Paul your kids look like pros, I know you are very proud of them, tip my hat to your wife and to you for doing such a good job with them. And to them I wish them many more victory s and lots of fun.
How cute! But I would think they would be doing back flips on ponies!

With legs that powerful if those kids of yours ever make the transition to horses they'll have no problem staying with them.
