this is a fail on so many levels #1 its a 3.7L #2 it looks gay and #3 WHY would you put a "COLD AIR INTAKE" on TOP of the motor??? where is the cold air coming from?
@313stratus more filtered air, and this thing is almost useless, cold air intakes are in front of the radiator, this thing is basically a HOT air intake, because its right above the engine itself
@mhavrilla88 i thought the point of ppl buying an aftermarket intake was to have more air flow/cold air into ur engine, not hot air...so y would the hot air be better..jus wonderin cus i just got me durango nd i wanna get a intake..
@313stratus your exactly correct, cold air is better and can gain you HP, but what im trying to say is that this setup is pointless so DONT put them on top, but instead in front of the radiator, that way, its not filtering any hot air from the engine
i bought this for my dodge nitro strictly for appearence..and in person i have to admit it looked kinda cool...but once the motor gets hot it slides off...piss poor design..i have my stock airbox back in now...
I purchased one of these off ebay just to see how it ran. The dyno doesn't lie. I removed the K&N intake and installed the stock Air box and ran the truck on the dyno. Then I installed this Intake and ran it on the dyno. This intake gave a 7 horsepower increase over the stock airbox setup yet still less HP than the K&N.
hey dumb asses its a dodge Dakota its not some high performance super car or truck. it looks cool and the stock intake isn't any better dealing with the heat. anyways as soon as u go over 15-20 mph the cold air will flow through the grille. also these are very cool running trucks in the first place at least mine is
You need to buy a ram air hood and make this intake work properly. it looks sweet. but its not helping power. i was gonna get it to but didn't because it sucks in to much hot air.
ANYONE WHO BUYS THIS IS FUCKING RETARDED... It looks like shit, and does nothing but reduce power and actually hurt your motor, your sucking in extremely hot air dumbasses.
got this one off ebay from chrome intakes for 60 bucks they fit the 3.7 and 4.7 this one wouldnt fit the 3.9 ud have to look around its a different setup in the engine dont kno if one would fit.
lol more airflow but with less dense air. you could have ust left it stock and saved the money. this won't do anything

that is not helping the truck at all. Losing hp

@TGbaseball26 i agree with you man, definatly robbing the engine of horsepower in that spot but personally i would go with ram air if available.

extend the intake piping, get those filters away from the hotest part of the entire car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

whats the diff, between this and the single cone intake.???
